It appears the others have been removed. - nick2525, on 03/24/2009, -0/+15I can't say what I've seen here interests me much. I will give the show a try though. Hopefully it has better elements then what I've seen here.
What was so amazing about BSG was the blending of sci-fi and drama. This looks like a lot of drama and just a sprinkle of sci-fi.
I want lasers, spaceships, holograms, dogfights, nuclear explosions, centurions, epic battle scenes and A LOT OF HEAVY DRINKING. Can a brotha get a "So say we all"
BTW - I never heard "FRAK" once in those clips. - inactive, on 03/24/2009, -1/+11Where the *****'s the space ships? What the hell is this crap?
- mycoplasma, on 03/24/2009, -0/+9Buried as inaccurate for lack of video.

- geneticlemon, on 03/24/2009, -0/+8Thing is, Galactica was set to retire when the show started. The only reason it wasn't destroyed was because of it's outdated technology. So, yeah, you could make the argument that this show is going the Star Wars: Prequels route and making the tech seem way too advanced, but you could also argue that the BSG timeline HAD the technology, they just couldn't use it. If you look at the cityscape of Caprica, and even the other colonial ships, the technology seems pretty high -- Cloud Nine, for example, could simulate Class M (YES, I'M USING A STAR TREK REFERENCE) planet-like atmospheres.
I'm going to die alone, aren't I? - Evilton, on 03/24/2009, -0/+8All down...lame.

SyFy = Caprica
Need I say more? - mickoes, on 03/24/2009, -0/+7Video removed by user, we need mirrors!
- SpookyET, on 03/24/2009, -0/+7It looks lame. Compare this rubbish to the commercials for the BSG mini-series and even the series.
It looks like The OC meets Minority Report. - jn1167, on 03/24/2009, -0/+6I take that back... It looks REALLY DUMB!!!!
- Bloodwine, on 03/24/2009, -2/+8As far as series finales go, BSG did a pretty good job. Just think about all the worse ways that it could have been wrapped up.
- starkraving, on 03/24/2009, -0/+5"This video has been removed by the user"
- StMac, on 03/24/2009, -0/+5Are you joking? You haven't seen the finale and you still go around reading comment threads about BSG and whine when they contain spoilers?
- thcobbs, on 03/24/2009, -0/+5Then don't watch this one. I am going to ahead and say it.
This is going to be worse than Galactica 1980 - inactive, on 03/24/2009, -1/+6kick ass. Really looking forward to this!!!!
- Bloodwine, on 03/24/2009, -0/+4Prequels are easier for me to write off than sequels.
Take Star Wars, for example. I can enjoy Star Wars IV through VI, and blissfully ignore the prequel trilogy. - koonchu, on 03/24/2009, -2/+6What the ***** are you talking about?
- thcobbs, on 03/24/2009, -1/+5What do you mean at the end? For the past two seasons "God(s)" has played a VERY prominent role in the plot line. I mean hell, they were following a PROPHECY from their religious texts.... Even if you don't count that, then how about because of the Six that only Gaius can see?
It wasn't just a cop out... its been there from the beginning. - Karmashock, on 03/24/2009, -0/+4Bah, we need a mirror.
- mtmankeith, on 03/24/2009, -1/+4Buried. The poster slaps up claims of clips to drive traffic (i.e. revenue) to his site then supposedly "pulls" them to save on bandwidth... CHUMP
- ebcreasoner, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3Seriously? WTF?
- gonzo1773, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3The videos are all gone (remove by user). Kinda lame.
- whahaa, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3true, but then think about all the better ways it could have been wrapped up.

- nmezib, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3gimp: videos removed by user
- zip000, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3That's retarded.
- malex, on 03/24/2009, -1/+4I admit I know pretty much nothing about the new show... but what's with all the high tech gadgetry? One of the defining characteristics about the BSG setting is that, aside from the spaceships, the colonies' technology level was practically identical to our own.
Is this pre-Cylon War I? Was there a "Butlerian Jihad" (Dune reference) type event that set their computers back to pre-AI levels? Or did the Caprica writers never watch the original show? - jn1167, on 03/24/2009, -4/+6Looks kind of dumb. I hope they dont totally destroy what they built with BSG.
- twistedwriter, on 03/25/2009, -0/+2Turning on your television and sitting on your ass for an hour doesn't require much devotion.
- phosphite, on 03/24/2009, -2/+4He's talking about BSG taking a nose-dive near the end of the series. It kinda did and it kinda didn't, depending on who you talk to.
- phosphite, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2All this has happened before and will happen again!
- Bloodwine, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2"he doesn't like to be called that", so I didn't take it as God.
I liked that humanity is stuck in an endless loop, and can't figure out how to break the cycle. Also shows a chicken and egg issue as who was created first, the cylons or the humans?
I also thought maybe the existing humans were Neanderthals and maybe the new refugee arrivals were Cromags. A least a notion along those lines.
Would you prefer Adama woke up and it was all a dream? It's network TV, so it's not going to be philosophy circle jerk material. - flossdaily, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2@Pixelante:
You can take man out of the modern, but you can't take the modern out of the man.
You should read Robinson Crusoe when you get a chance... it's a fairly believable story about how one man handles being stuck by himself, with very little by ways of tools or knowledge.
Magnify that by 40,000 people all working together.
Seriously, you think these guys are just going to give up toilet paper and soap?
We *KNOW* that they won't give up alcohol, since half of the crew needs to be wasted all the time.
And you want to know what you do with scientific method without tools? Uh, well, step one would be figuring out how to make tools, then, wouldn't it? - CogitatorX, on 03/24/2009, -2/+4Craprica looks boring as hell. The worst part of BSG was the over the top/strained "drama". Remember Adama drunk & painting Cylon juice over the walls like an Emo chick? Well, if you want to sit through an hour a week of that kinda *****-hat's off to ye, but I'll pass.
- flossdaily, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2The first 2 seasons of the journey were good. The 3rd season got stupid, and the 4th was both stupid and boring. So... I guess you're half right.
- flossdaily, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2@mtmankeith:
You have a selective memory:
Starbuck, alive or dead? She was a magical angel! It was God!
Baltar's Imaginary Friend? It was a magical angel! It was God!
The mysterious notes Starbuck had in her head? It was coordinates to Earth... . put there by God!
The visions everyone had? It was God. - remlap, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2Toaster Tennis Court :)
- JPamplin, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2So say we all!
- nmezib, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2but hopefully not Boxxxy. hoo boy that was a weird episode.
- sekramer, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2The clips have been taken down -- best to bury this article.
- Sean42, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2probably, but thanks for nfo anyway ;)
- koko775, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2Galactica was an aging Battlestar on the verge of being decommissiioned. The reason it survived was that its technology was behind the curve, whereas all the other ships were newer, networked, and thus disabled (and destroyed).
So yeah, the destruction of the Colonies pretty much led to throwing away a good deal of technology. Not to mention, the story takes place on an aging military ship -- no need for decadence. Didn't you watch the show?
And yes, it's pre-Cylon war; the series is about creating the first cylons (the Colonial variant, anyway) - thcobbs, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2Boxey was there.... at least for a bit.
- vfr800serenity, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1So, in short, the show sucked ass.
I wish I had my 90 hours back that I wasted in the false hope that the show would somehow pull it out in the end.
Nope... -
