- bowdie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44Very few cartoons are in realtime, it's a terrible strain on the animator's wrists.
- Drunkenfool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17there was a peter cameo in the Simpson's, the Halloween special where homer clones himself like 100 times, one of the clones came out as peter.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Hah. Jack will go all badass and start shooting Marge's limbs, demanding to know why Bart isn't in school.
- Gerolsteiner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Who are you working for?? That nuclear device was made with material from YOUR powerplant!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Please define "Occupate". This is a new word to me. Did George Bush invent it?
- ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Family Guy and American Dad in The Simpsons:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBLhnBYPe7Y - Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Kiefer Sutherland also did a VO cameo on an episode a little while back where Homer joined the Army. Homer was too stupid for "front-line infantry", so he and the other idiots in the training camp became cannon fodder in the 'war-games', which ended up having the Army occupate Springfield. Looks like Kiefer just did a GI voiceover.
http://imdb.com/name/nm0000662/ (look at his Simpson's credits) - andr3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Who is this guy Kiefer all of you keep talking about? I clicked and saw a pick of Jack Bauer holding a gun... There's noone else standing there besides Bart. I'm confused.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'm glad that Kiefer Sutherland was referred to in the title as the one from 24, because I almost got mixed up.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6you know it's got bad when almost every episode features the line "The Simpson's are going to..."
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This episode was on TV Sunday in the UK just before they showed the new series of 24. very funny. He doesn't sound like Jack though, it's a little different.
- bringbackshred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's not often that Australian TV beats Digg with a story, but here we are.
Oh look - there's a pig flying. - bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7But will the episode be in realtime? Now that would be cool...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The Simpsons writers always do this. They will bill it as "the 24" episode and Jack Bauer will be in it for about 15 seconds. The big celebrities are only ever in it for a few seconds, but watching the commercial teaser you'd think it was all about them.
- zXen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah, The Simpsons lost their un rivalled wit long ago. For a number of years it has been an average comedy living on the name it made for itself in their heyday.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow, Fox using a show to advertise another show on their network? Original.
Keep up the good work you brilliant TV execs.
One show is excellent, the other went stale long, LONG ago. This is gonna end bad....No wonder they got Bauer in to save the day. - K3lviN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Quite right h00paj00, you can judge my ability to "know good Simpson's episodes" from one comment on Digg. I agree the newer seasons aren't as good as the older ones, but my comment was referring to the Simpson's as the whole programme, although perhaps the use of the word 'recent' was a mistake as it can be interpreted differently.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Calling the simpsons the best "of recent years" shows that you don't know what Good Simpsons episodes are... re-watch Seasons 1 through 5.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, you've got potential! I think you should start giving out buisness cards.
- Darrelc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nope definately shown, our lasses dad ripped it onto his archos PVR thing.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3no I didn't.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ummm yes I have seen it. It was on Sunday 6:30pm on Sky One.
then they showed 4 more episodes of the The Simpsons and 2 new episodes of 24 Season 6. - JanusAmon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6It'll probably go something like this:
Jack: WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!
Homer: Mmmm....doughnuts...
Jack: GET TO THE CHOPPER, THERE'S A BOMB IN L.A!
Homer: A bong?!? Where?!?
Jack: *shoots Homer*
And that's the end of the simpsons. - Myonosken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Especially given they did it as a joke in the Japan episode.
- Dhalsim007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FAVORITE LINE FROM KEIFER'S PREVIOUS CAMEO as the Army general assigning his dumb recruits: "Front-line infantry......Front-line infantry .... oh, definatly Front-line infantry...."
- payndz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who cares about Jack Bauer? What's more important is that Chloe's going to be on The Simpsons too!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I agree they're always usually pish. IMO the Ricky Gervais episode was one of the worst in Simpson history. And that IS bad, considering there has been a LOT of tripe lately...
- leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Chloe wouldn't be there to patch Jack through...
- JanusAmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh, by the way, I am a fan of both 24 and the simpsons.
- bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"This episode was on TV Sunday in the UK just before they showed the new series of 24. very funny."
As that episode will air May 20th, 2007 I don't think you have seen it in the UK already... - Massif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One word: Gravitas...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yeah. how can it possibly suck!
- Bokista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm mostly disappointed in the incorrect use of the word "pastiche" in the description. Parody would have been more appropriate.
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Shenanigans. I'm pretty sure Kiefer isn't stupid enough to spell "definitely" like that.
/or his name like that. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1all the sites with TV listings have moved on but if you check Google some of the pages are still cached with the info.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sky+one+new+simpsons+G.I&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a - Rethcir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm glad Alexander Siddig (aka dr. bashir) is getting work on 24 this year. AND cromwell, come to think of it.
- Gerolsteiner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or he could teach Homer a new way to suffocate Bart, using techniques perfected on his own brother.
- bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What is the production code? And why isn't there a torrent yet?
- Kvetch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The show is still going to stink no matter who they bring on. My opinion is that the show has been dead for at least 6 or 7 years now and it should have gone away back then.
- Speed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not just a GI VO, he was the Army general. Main bad guy, so to speak.
- casbboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here is an interview (came out today) with Kiefer on the upcoming 24 spoof episode:
http://www.canmag.com/nw/6513-kiefer-sutherland-simpsons - Funkly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1did you watch the episodes cause Anti-muslim it is not. there are 2 muslim hero's in this season, and as far as being unrealistic, its a tv show! If it was realistic it would nt get rating, and people woould complain that it was boring, sheesh.. cant win with you guys.. if you dont like it dont watch, and if you hate it, watch it more so you can make fun of it..
a salami with bacon - Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Shlep:
Whoops :) I think I meant to type occupy... - bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was my point. Well, nevermind...
- Funkly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1errr?
- Truenloach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0JanusAmon = Front Line Infantry!
h00paj00 = Front Line Infantry!
adcat = Front Line Infantry!
m3mn0n = Front Line Infantry!
Myonosken = ROTC
hobgobbler = Front Line Infantry!
quokkapox = Front Line Infantry!
Drunkenfool = Secret Service - NightTerror666, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I was a Simpsons fanboy for years, now the show is all about the money and which guest can they get on the show, not about the jokes anymore. The movie is SO gonna suck bad. Even Futurama is funnier. Family Guy and American Dad FTW!
- SmegFirk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just to stop any confusion the episode which has been mentioned as being on last Sunday night in the UK was with Kiefer Sutherland playing the army general, rather than this new one which is based around 24.
- Myonosken, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Anyone know how much longer they're going to keep churning out this crap? Season 9 kind of was the last season of it for me because it just became almost a self parody.
- senatorkevin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah, the Simpsons is just old. At some point you need to hang it up. The first few seasons are still gold though.
