- jahnjf, on 10/22/2009, -2/+37It was my life's goal to get on legends of the hidden temple. Now i wonder the world without purpose
- FloorModel, on 10/22/2009, -1/+31we loved Legends of the hidden temple
- IUAndar, on 10/22/2009, -0/+20Legends also had one of the most ridiculously low success rates for winning the grand prize. Seriously, the odds of making it through that temple without running into guards and solving the puzzles quickly were cruelly tough.
- PocketSalt, on 10/22/2009, -0/+20I think the writer of this article was on the show as a kid 15 years ago and couldn't assemble the silver monkey. His dad beat him and now he blames Olmec.
- newcpMUOHIO, on 10/22/2009, -0/+19That and family double dare! Those game shows from Nickelodeon are just too good. What about terrible games shows such as Greed and Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
- HiddenLondon, on 10/22/2009, -1/+19Deal or No Deal for me. Most of the contestants take it so seriously - even if they're not 'playing' for the cash.
- marcand, on 10/22/2009, -2/+20Wipeout seriously takes the cake for me. $50k wouldn't even begin to cover the doctor bills after abusing yourself on that show.
- Hybridle, on 10/22/2009, -0/+16Human tetris was entertaining up until the point that I realized it was its own show.
- dmcaudio, on 10/22/2009, -0/+15i miss Nickelodeon GUTS
- Jelga, on 10/22/2009, -0/+15It was really exciting though when someone actually won. You had to work for that *****, plus those guards scared me when I was a little kid.
- ncgmac, on 10/22/2009, -1/+15I love Wipeout! Nothing better than people knowingly putting themselves in casts, it's awesome! They missed one though, the new Crash Course show on ABC that showed the latter half of summer after Wipeout. Another cool show that probably every person of driving age would like to try out for just because you get to do all the things in cars you wanted to do as a teenager.
- AmnesiacJack, on 10/22/2009, -0/+13Hole in the Wall / Human Tetris is awesome because they do stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsSh9vvGcfw to people.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/22/2009, -0/+12The contestants seem more like wanna-be actors which i suspect they are.
- gl77, on 10/22/2009, -0/+12really? family feud? I loved that show when Richard Dawson hosted, when Ray Combs hosted, when Louie Anderson hosted, when Richard Karn hosted and now when J. Peterman hosts it (i can't remember his real name) i usually watch it whenever it's on simply because it's a fun show and quite entertaining.
- TheUngod, on 10/22/2009, -0/+12Distraction was hilarious, I'm not sure what this list writer is thinking. It was like any game show, only with crazy ***** happening to the contestants.
- coltrane68, on 10/22/2009, -0/+11Joey the fat one's singing show is stupid, but didn't it compete with an even worse singing show? I can't recall the host, but I remember him being really awful.
- Hybridle, on 10/22/2009, -0/+11*wander
- Lambog130, on 10/22/2009, -0/+10Thank you Fox for ruining Human Tetris.
- Takfam, on 10/22/2009, -0/+8Jesus, this list is all over the place. How can you even begin to compare classics like Family Feud and Legends of the Hidden Temple to the utter piles of steaming crap that are Moment of Truth, Identity and The Chair?
I will admit to being one of the few that enjoyed Distraction. If only because Jimmy Carr was getting paid and I find him to be one of the most underrated comics working right now. - TheInimitable, on 10/22/2009, -0/+7I still want a piece of that Agro-Crag. I would have no qualms humiliating small children on television to do so.
- s73v3r, on 10/22/2009, -0/+6Wipeout is ok, but the snarky humor gives MXC the edge.
- CoconutKC, on 10/22/2009, -0/+6Legends of the Hidden Temple was freakin bad ass, dude doesn't know what he or she is talking about.
- LostOnion, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5I'm sorry but those families on the feud are some of the biggest dumbasses ever to be shown on television. For example: Rock bands that begin "The". One chic responded "The Kiss". Need I say more?
- Feener, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5Actually Distraction started in the UK and then went to America, hence why the presenter is the British Jimmy Carr.
- Alli3388, on 10/22/2009, -2/+7Too bad the U.S. doesn't have socialized health care like Canada... no medical bills AND no taxes on winnings - not even for the lottery. It's pretty sweet.
- jbmcb, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5It's more than a game of chance, there's a risk/reward ratio that you need to calculate - what are the odds of making more than the banker is offering by selecting a briefcase with more money in it?
That being said, blackjack is a much more complicated betting game, and it's pretty damned simple.
It baffles me how people carefully pick the briefcase, they are ostensibly randomly allocated. I'd piss off the producers and just go right across the first row, my odds would be exactly the same. - slym2k, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5Since this list sucks for having classics like Double Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple on it, can we turn this into a thread of classic game shows?
Anyone remember Video Power or Masters of the Maze? I loved those as a kid. And I swear I had the temple down to a science in Legends of the Hidden Temple. - inactive, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5The only thing ***** than Deal or No Deal is the Deal or No Deal video games. What is the ***** point of them? It's not like trivia games where you actually get to answer questions.
- dolemite01, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXKSjqVyzW0
Show us your wits - NBCLocal, on 10/22/2009, -1/+6Addition to this list - there is a game show in Italy where the contestant is presented with a group of people and they have to guess, based on appearances, which occupation each person has.
- dwtc, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5Wipeout never gets old for me.
I think this list could be entirely populated by shows which, like Identity and Deal or No Deal, try to copy the atmosphere or "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" with the dark studio and flashy lights, tense music, and only answering one question every 10 minutes. Wipeout is pretty much the opposite of all that -- constant action, outdoors and sunny, and full of funny situations and commentary. - WasabiBomb, on 10/22/2009, -2/+6Gonna have to disagree on Wipeout. That show is freakin' hi-larious.
Good night, and big balls. - BoneheadFarker, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4@nepidae
She didn't say it was. - s73v3r, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4The worst part is, on the DS version, the locations of the things don't change. So you play through one game, and then start another, everything is in the same place. They only move if you reboot.
There is an arcade version of the game that is pretty sweet, though. You play for tickets. - bales2552, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch for spelling his name wrong?
- FredFredrickson, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4Greed.
- shroommi, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4My favorite moment from Hole In The Wall:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfym8MdKNNY - Gosunkugi, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4Really poor list. I know it all comes down to differences of opinion but Legends of the Hidden Temple was easily my favorite Nick game show as a kid. Double Dare was alright too but it never really reached the level of epic that was the final stage in Legends. I also enjoyed Distraction for the brief window it was on.
- Aurabolt, on 10/22/2009, -2/+6*wander
EDIT: bury me, sorry Hybridle - Alli3388, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3I used to love double dare.
And I'm not sure that "The Moment of Truth" falls into the "lame" category. More into the "WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!" category. - kidtwist, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3Numberwang!
- DrDragun, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4What team? I'm a Blue Barracudas guy myself
- deff, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3Don't Forget the Lyrics! with Wayne "Choke a bitch" Brady
- holygram, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4Wait, what?
They don't get to keep the money?
/confused - guttersniper, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3Why is The Weakest Link on the picture on the top of the page but not listed as a dumb game show? I was all prepared to complain about its inclusion because I loved that show but then it wasn't there and I don't know what to be mad about. So much anger that I can't release. . . I guess I'll go beat my wife.
- ftc08, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3This is digg. Most of us are bitter towards the idea of this 'love' you speak of.
- mt4055, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3And the survey says ... BEEP!
- xt0ph3r, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3That's basically Identity.
- MagMan68Classic, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4This list SUCKS. Buried
