- redxii, on 10/11/2007, -30/+360> It won't run Mac OS X, making it practically useless.
It isn't Intel's fault that OS X won't support the hardware. - HunterTV, on 10/11/2007, -20/+271When will diggers get it that bashing ANY particular OS will get you dugg down no matter what OS it is because the behavior itself is lame?

go die... please - silverj, on 10/11/2007, -9/+229It looks fantastic, but will probably cost a fortune.
- m1th, on 10/11/2007, -1/+192A laptop with wireless recharging capability?
Tesla would be proud. - TravisG5, on 10/11/2007, -2/+106"Hey, check out my new lapto- *crack*... nooooooo!!!!"
- dominasian, on 10/11/2007, -30/+126@iwanttodiggthis
i take a different viewpoint. as long as it will do ubuntu, im good - swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -5/+101I don't mean to bring up macs in an article about a pc, but IMO a laptop can be too thin. I used to have a fairly sturdy IBM that I could pick up with one hand. I got a macbook, tried lifting it with one hand, and it immediately started making a loud squealing noise. Apparently I was compressing the cd drive's laser into the CS:S disc that was in the drive (thank you, steam). I can only imagine what would happen with this intel laptop, it would probably snap in half. Whatever happened to durability?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+104Mmmmmm... cancer
- arcooke, on 10/11/2007, -2/+75Isn't it past your bedtime?
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -6/+68sexism? I don't think there is anything in the phrase "dumb blonde" that implies gender. Just a guess...are you a blonde woman?
- marcan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+61Ever seen an electric toothbrush? Notice how it recharges with no electrical connections? Same technology. It's been out for years. No, it's not radio, it's magnetism. It's basically just a transformer, except the primary is in the base and the secondary is in the laptop.
- lorductape, on 10/11/2007, -6/+64if this is the supermodel of laptops then what if my laptop feels self concious and goes anorexic????
- bobbyi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+58"Anyone can design way cool products"
I disagree. - beguiledfoil, on 10/11/2007, -2/+58I just found my macbook pro puking in the bathroom, I blame the media for portraying thin laptops as sexy and cool.
- huyzee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+51i bet all of you went to look for a penny after seeing the first pic
- PhireN, on 10/11/2007, -2/+49@ radu79
It probably has a lithium polymer battery ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_polymer_cell ), They don't require the metal casing, like li-ion, and can be moulded to fit in any space.
They have a 20% better energy density, and with the ablitly to mould into any shape, it could easily be more than 50% of the total weight, the entire case could be battery. - vonskippy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+40I'll believe it exists when it actually hits someone shopping cart.
Anyone can design way cool products, the auto makers have been doing it for years.
Doesn't mean you can EVER buy one though. - JoeBaynham, on 10/11/2007, -1/+35It is just like supermodels.. yeah a fat supermodel isn't the hottest thing on earth but nor is a really thin anorexic supermodel.
- superal1394, on 10/11/2007, -8/+41I would pay a fortune to have that. I paid a fortune for the Macbook Pro for the better engineering and design, I will pay a fortune for that.
I am impressed by the battery, I don't think you can even buy a laptop with that kind of battery life. - alternateheaven, on 10/11/2007, -5/+37ffs quit being such a woman
- scabbers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31It sends the heat into microscopic black holes.
- redmaxx, on 10/11/2007, -9/+39Bet that keyboard feels awful.
- Aupajo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26It's powered by magic. It will only work if you BELIEVE it will.
- kris33, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25Finally a laptop-design that look as clean and minimalistic as the MacBook without copying it's design! This looks gorgeous!
- drafhk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24It looks anorexic.
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22I guess it's just me.... but what are they going to do about the heat dissipation?
- markp93, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21It looks awesome. Except for the last pic which makes it look like a purse..
- JoeBaynham, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26Wow! That's a great laptop! Until it snaps.
- krakkinem, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21It's thin, so when the battery inevitably explodes the fire will be brief. It still may napalm your nuts, however.
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22Does it have a CD drive on the right side which for some reason isn't shown?
- dbz253, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21actually, "blonde" implies it's female. "blond" is used for males.
but i don't think this would be considered sexism. maybe it's offensive against blondes. but blond people are usually intelligent enough to not worry about being "oppressed" with words and just keep on doing what they were doing. - rebopper, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17I would most likely break the outer screen right away. I mean, you know, it looks so durable and all.
- rockrapdude, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18I think if they would use carbon fiber on it. Then it wouldn't be so brittle
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15@dbz, wow I never knew the difference between blonde and blond. I figured it was like color and colour.
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16@techlake, errr WATER COOLING in a laptop?
I want whatever you're smoking. It must be really expensive. - cheeseron, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14@imustbeemo
You're being beamed with AM waves right now! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Guys, Intel has been coming out with prototype PCs and laptops for years. Remember the pyramid design? Intel just does this hoping that it will inspire PC manufacturers to make nicer PCs, not to mass produce and sell them to consumers. Intel does not produce a line of computers and never will. You might as well be drooling over a Chevy Volt or some other concept car that'll never hit the market.
- rald84, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13@marcan: +1 digg for the only post with an actual explanation
- amfantasy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14this laptop better not give me a paper cut :p Time to start saving up!!! :)
- seanmc303, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14My prediction for your computer:
1. eat up a bunch of bloatware
Then when it sees the purse accessory: http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/images/gallery/4/2007/05/medium_512405407_5c997354aa_o.jpg
2. cry - Vrail, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13"Almost"! but not there yet!
- ultraelite, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14yeah they are called microwaves. Real healthy, unless you are talking about the short distance charge pads, which I think are cool...
- redmaxx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9It would be quite sticky if it did coke.
- abhie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10It looks really cool, but computer makers have this annoying habit of unveiling concepts which they never intend to put into mass production...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Beautiful yes. But I bet that thing gets as hot as the center of the sun.
- gatz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Most metals have a higher strength per unit volume than carbon fiber so it would have to be thicker to get the same strength. Carbon fiber's higher specific strength than metals means it has a higher strength per unit mass, not volume.
- charliekwalker, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9For someone who travels, that laptop is a sweet thing, indeed.
- Alegoo92, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Am I mistaken-- or is that computer not running Vista but Longhorn... the Start button says 'start' and is green..
- chingy1788, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I wonder how big the screen is
LCD or OLED? have you seen the contrast on the OLED screens, its crazy
And how big is that flash mem HDD
that would probably be the most expensive part -
