- kfstickman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There was a story a while back where Microsoft employees had to disguise their ipod earbuds at work.
- Venkman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4for the ones saying things like "and?" and, "so," here is a little story.
Microsoft doesn't really like Apple.
Apple doesn't really like Microsoft.
Seeing MS post a screenshot with an Apple program visible floats a few people's boats.
Good Day. - mixpix405, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just a few notes:
(1) To the person who said: "this is news because.......?", Its news, because enough people dugg the story to send it to the front page. If that's not enough for you, leave the digg community.
(2) To the person who said: "Why the hell should I care about that? Some people really need to get lives.", You are right - The prime example of someone who needs to get a life would be you - making pointless comments like that.
(3) To the person who said: "why...why oh why did this get a digg??", Because enough people thought it was interesting to be seen. No one said it was breaking news, CNN worthy...
(4) To the person who said: "Kinda cool. But I could care less", Yet you cared enough to post that ridiculous comment about how lame the story is...?
(5) To the person who said: "Oh wow that is so hilarious! No really, it is! Imagine that! A Microsoft Employee...USING ITUNES HAHAHAHHAHAHAH OH *****!!! That picture needs its own Comedy Central special because it's THAT funny! No really it is! It's the epitome of ***** hilarious! Seriously!", Do you think that using profanity makes your comment noteworthy? If so, you are terribly mistaken.
(6) To the person who said: "This really doesn't matter at all", If "this really doesnt matter at all", then why, OH GOD WHY, in God's name, did you take the time out of your oh-so-busy schedule to make that comment?
(7) To the person who said: "Yeah, this is kind of pointless.", refer to my comment in note (7).
(8) To the person who said: "How on earth did this get dugg?", Do you honestly not know how the "+digg" system works? And if so, it got dugg because enough people thought it was interesting. Again, no one said CNN worthy.
(9) To the person who said: "wow this is the stupidest ***** ever, WHO ***** CARES", obviously over 500 people cared enough to digg the story. Is that a good enough answer for "who"?
(10) To the person who said: "so??", I wont even dignify that comment with another.
(11) To the person who said: "who gives a *****? Do i? Does anyone? Cmon, someone must give a *****, becuase I dont.", Im done... cant go on.
People - Why waste your time (which is obviously VERY precious if you couldnt just skim over this article without getting mad) posting comments like these when you simply dont like something. Digg is setup so that if a story is thought to be interesting by enough people, it is added to the homepage - If its there, its news to someone. We need NOT hear your whiney, teen-age-like, profanity laden posts about why YOU SPECIFICALLY dont like it. Get over it.
Thank you for your time. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The tablet could be HP Brand, HP bundles iTunes with most of there newer computers...I think
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hah, nice find. More proof Microsoft is getting thier ideas from Apple.
- itsjake88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People, stop bitching about things like this. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean that its bad. If 300 people dugg it, then people obviously think this is good.
This is what democracy is all about. - birdadderley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 Joshua (0)... Not only is MS getting ideas from Apple, but also Apple is getting ideas from MS. It's a cyclic love-hate relationship.
- Function, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This Microsoft employee obviously doesn't "Play for sure"
This is hilarious. - darthpreppy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha, I think this is funny.
- Guol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1well i reckon that's pretty damn funny....all i can say to those people who think it isnt, is why do you even bother wasting your "precious" time posting in this 'unworthy topic'???
- exobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool indeed, and some people need to chill out, *cough*psyonide*cough*, it's not as if this affects you personally in any way, you don't like it? Don't click/waste your time :D
- fresh251, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha, thats funny
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"who cares, every microsoft employee i have owns an iPod."
You own Microsoft employees? LOL. - mikes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very funny, i can't believe that Microsoft would actually be so stupid and post that on there site. oh, wait, this is Microsoft, makes perfect sense now.
- pbojovic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is great - LOL.
- bill.clark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For those that asked... the theme is the Windows XP Energy Blue theme from Windows XP Media Center 2005... you can get it separately here:
http://www.uneasysilence.com/index.php?p=1837 - mixpix405, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah - I agree that the title of this Digg story should have been "iTunes shows up in microsoft.com AD" as opposed to "on MS machine"... But the point of the article wasnt that "OH LOOK - iTUNES NOW WORKS ON WINDOWS!"... Not to reveal some big secret... Just to point out the irony in a MS AD showing a Mac-based application.
- tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh no! Thank you for coming out of your cave, Jesse, iTunes has been on Windows for a long time. No one cares, as stated above, People on Macs use Word and other MS Product. Not worthy of a good laugh or a digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0do most of you live under a rock, itunes+windows has been around for years.i have it on my machine too
- althe3rduww, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0did you not just read the comment that came before yours..... I just explained how your comment is completely off the point.
- Function, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"OMG, MS Office for Mac - and sold on the APPLE SITE"
Oh my god!
Microsoft Office was made for the Mac years before the PC!
Office 3.0 didn't come out for Windows untill 1993! WHOA!
Bill Gates loved the Macintosh! WHOA!
Of course we'll ignore that Word is what it is because of the Mac. - DawgBytez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree mixpix405, If they don't like it, why digg it?
They aren't hurting the story, they are publicizing it :)
Nice post! - incu_vamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i don't get it
- Inzoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0any ss with itunes, firefox and openoffice on microsoft.com
- pixelbud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just the sheer irony of an Apple program's icon, on a screenshot at Microsoft.com amuses me. This comes from the company that deleted Apple Headquarters on MSN Earth.
- althe3rduww, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only reason iTunes is on windows in the first place is because apple released it for the windows community. Keep in mind iTunes was for the mac years before the pc. So your constant misunderstanding of why we think this is cool is not because its available for a pc. But because its on a microsoft.com website ad! Microsoft has done this several times before with a previous front page to microsoft.com that featured a woman using a powerbook while that graphic discussed windows xp (and that was before microsoft bought virtual pc). And the main reason its so astonishing is because usually microsoft does everything in its power to ignore the mac community whenever possible. I am sorry you can't understand why this is interesting. But if you can't please spare us your comments, unless ofcourse you finally get it?
- zemm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is this interesting at all? Besides, The screenshot was most likely taken by a contract worker.
- msaeger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just because I think this is a non story does not make me a microsoft worshiper.
- Helfax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Unbelieve that this is a story. iTunes is available for Windows! Why does it matter that some developer is using it? WHO CARES! God. I was hoping this site wasn't going to get as bad as /.
- maong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how the hell did this make it to the front page... and get 550 diggs?! Seriously people... iTunes is a Windows program - a good one at that - so who gives a damn if they have it in their quicklaunch tray?
- spelchek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh man! I just found a MAC using MICROSOFT internet Explorer! OHHHH the scandel!
- ihate2regist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'd never install itunes
- ben.0081, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HAHA
- munboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what theme is that? everything looks so glossy.
- sock2828, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol cool there getting there ideas from apple ha
- cessax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yea who cares...we all know us windows users have itunes anyways
- stevepr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with the firefox commnent. But this is still funny as hell!
- okcookienc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a stupid digg... iTunes has been on Windows for two years. When you download new versions of Quicktime, you install iTunes.
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HAHA that is funny. Now we just need to see them slip and have firefox in there or firefox with the google maps.
- metalrock76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What really would be funny is if firefox was on the pc.
- t0mmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not a big deal.
It's no different when Microsoft used those Apples at the XBOX360 E3 display. People were like "WOAH" and then they just kinda forgot about it. These things happen, it's nothing new. - Logik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no no no.. this is microsoft copying apple again.. that's really windows media player skinned to look like itunes... or wait.. no... more like hexedited to display "Windows Media Player" lol
- Interpol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Almost 400 diggs? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?? This is retarded.
- Noah0504, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a stupid digg... iTunes has been on Windows for two years. When you download new versions of Quicktime, you install iTunes.
No, he's not talking about iTunes being available for Windows. That's a Microsoft screenshot, and the computer is running iTunes. iTunes is made by Apple and we all know that they don't have a very nice relationship with each other. This is why it's funny to see a "Microsoft PC" running iTunes. - enog24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh, big ***** deal. i should have dugg that story about my that dude that has a ps2 AND xbox.
- xtremesniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lol wow, how this made front page news is beyond me... I have iTunes but I hate iPods. Whats the big deal?
- KingAR_II, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is a joke right?! Is this supposed to be funny?!
*sigh* - chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OMG, MS Office for Mac - and sold on the APPLE SITE!!!!
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/71006/wo/Sk2bmPfNa4Zl2La7Lb72EmWLAw6/0.0.11.1.0.6.23.1.12.1.0.0.0.1.0 - jackusage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice attention to detail
- jakkyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's almost as funny as the "Blue screen of death' incident that happened on Conan O'Brien a few years back.....
Can't blame them for having iTunes on there....it's not like Microsoft has developed any type of music library organization software that even comes close to rivaling iTunes..... -
