- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32at the top left, you can change it to row view, like digg, and make more deals per page
- dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -29/+55You're kidding me, right?
One look at the interface and you hate the site? You don't even mention what you think of the most important aspect: the concept.
Negative digg for you. - ArchieAndrews, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27The new digg. Please spam us with nothing resembling news! We love it!
- UpTooL8, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15dealsPl.us can you read it now??? it isn't mispelled, but then it is a brand, so it is hard to judge the spelling. Last I checked digg only has one "g" but we all get it
- kriegs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15it has digg-like features. eh. interface does suck. and why not link directly to the site instead of the article?
- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Prepare for vendor abuse. I hope they have good safegaurds. You'd expect some shady tactics by most of NYC's photography stores.
- wush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10WEB 2.0 ULTRA BUZZWORD COMBO MULTIPLIER
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9interface is not _horrible_, but there are a few things that could be done, like getting rid of some of the content on the grid view and making sort of a "more info" page like how digg has. it is cluttered
- TheWorkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Row view instead of Grid makes it more eye friendly IMO.
- megamahi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12ArchieAndrews: "This is spam. Nothing more than a link to a site."
Oh so I guess all of digg is spam then, cause they are, you know, just links to sites. - jlabs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I think the interface actually looks pretty good. It might need to be a little less crowded..but that's about it. It's not going to be an exact duplicate of digg..just some of the same features (voting, etc). It's a cool idea.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Seems like FatWallet would still be the better alternative, as it lets users submit their own deals and rate them too.
- dkarlson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It isn't too bad with the row view turned on.
- Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This interface is like the ZipZoomfly main page. Yes, it's ugly, but once you get past the front page, the site is an excellent one. I do like how you CAN change the layout on this one, though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I dig this. It's no uglier than www.newegg.com, and I know most diggers are progbably newegg fans.
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -19/+24It only takes a blink of the eye to make aesthetic judgements...don't you read Malcolm Gladwell? This is especially true if you're a designer and/or geek who knows a thing or two about good interfaces. I gave that site about ten seconds of my time. The interface turned me off and I won't be visiting it again.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They give away free 1GB flash drives which look good.
- scottjl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4jeeze. all this whineing about usability. hello. it's a shopping site and it looks to have some very decent deals. also note the BETA tag in the upper left. so they are still working on things. might try to provide some constructive criticism to the developers and improve the site vs. shooting it down right off the bat. feel free to shop elsewhere, i'll save a few $$$ if i can!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Because it is slow after digg effect.
- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+61gig flash drive only level 2 users? Scientology.
- ericsnels, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Deals plus? Dammit, Late again!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For all of you haters that are complaining about the interface -- must I remind you that digg once had a bad design (which was its first). I'm just glad you people stuck around because look at digg now! :-)
- debney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The interface could really be improved if they leave the categories expanded. It's not intuitive to hide the categories under all deals. Especially with the feed icons right by the links. At first glance I thought the only links were to the feeds. Counter-intuitive.
- debney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg, Great idea, criticized the interface, but I do like the concept. I will visit this site often.
- robdew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ben's Bargains is frequently outright wrong for certain "deals" and they refuse to put "after rebate" in the subjects of their deals. It looks like this new venture carried over at least the last annoyance. Hopefully the voting will fix the first.
- tek1024, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey, no complaints about the interface; I think it's great.
But am I the only one who finds it ironic that this painfully "Web 2.0" domain name comes only moments *after* the "Top 10 URL Flops"? :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A link to a cnet review or something (for each product) would be good, as well as a link to the vendor's resellerratings review page.
- dsfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like it. It could get better.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Anything dugg to the frontpage is digg-worthy. That's how digg works and was meant to work. If you don't like it, don't digg it. Clearly, other people liked it and dugg it, which is why it is on digg.
- Slayback, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The problem with deals sites in general and especially ones that rely on users to mod up deals, is that the more exposure a deal has, the less likely YOU are to get the deal. Think of the digg effect on deals...you'll have about 3 minutes to get in on a deal.
Might as well jump on woot if that's your idea of a good time. - sillywampa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was looking for a good deal on a microSD card for my phone. Found it right on their homepage.
Definite Digg. - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think the look is very standard for any shopping site.
- PirateFSM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where'd you see that? :-D
- tzmguitarist, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11Dirtyfratboy has some seriously digg-worthy submissions. I trust his diggs and that is why I bothered to even look at this. On closer inspection I found that this site has something that I could actually use - like coupon codes.
Think before you react and research who posted it before you go ape and label it spam. - traherom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I'm thinking about hanging around there for a while just for that... you can always use an extra. :)
- NJank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2any rss feed for this yet?
- traherom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Along the right hand side.
- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How do you organize the site by most plusses? (diggs) I want the most popular ones on top.
- XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Because digg limits the amount of text you can include with the posting.
Ideally digg would do both - more info link and direct to content link. - percussionlab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, this site is pretty cool. Great deals... Yeah, the interface is kinda wack, but $99 for an 8GB flash drive? That seems pretty damn good to me! I'm gonna check out FatWallet. Never heard of that one...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.digg.com/tech_deals/dealcritic.com_-_dealnews_meets_digg
- gengisPhat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@sunny3: No? Thank you for pointing that out. I will make sure to make everything ridiculously clear so there is no confusion.
- GrendelT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, yes, plenty of great sites with deals on them. I don't know that any one is better than the others. Although slickdeals has probably been around the longest. It's all based on the number of people submitting deals.
http://forums.somethingawful.com has a deals forum that is very active. - Inbal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I only realized where the categories are after noticing the "Find more:" button on each deal, after a 5 minute search, which I only bothered to do because I refused to believe categories is a concept beyond the developers abilities. They need to make some changes, fast.
- LiThiuMElectro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good find +digg
the only sad part for me i guess is that when there is hot deal like that most of the time they don't ship to canada. Will keep an eye on tho, thanks for the digg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2should be row view by default. Very cool site.......
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No sir, it's certainly WWW.DEALSPL.US
Deals Plus = DealsPlus = DealsPl.us
How clever. - ablaye, on 12/28/2008, -0/+1Very similar to http://www.DealShouter.com
- dustyshadow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Once again we have a posting about whateversite.com that goes to some ***** blog that I don't want to have to click through.
- tunercircle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think it needs categories, so users can find deals based on categories. I want iPod, not pillows :) Additionally, the user level seems to encourage users to spread the site (number of invites you get), while filtering the quality. A good concept, need a little touch up here and there.
