- Hoop1a, on 05/15/2009, -13/+144Well done!
Of course Palin is the opposite of a crack ho: she's the kind of proudly ignorant self righteous bumpkin who thinks big cities are full of crack hos and liberals who encourage their "vice", while excusing teenage pregnancy and meth heads in her own back yard. - ileftfark, on 05/16/2009, -11/+123So... uh... would this be wrong?
http://tinyurl.com/dumbest-*****-that-ever-lived - cagednerdx, on 05/16/2009, -5/+11210 points to whoever can hack gov.state.ak.us to redirect to crackho.com. Then we'll be in business.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -3/+78If it was his own domain that was redirecting, you can't really sue him for that. This will be thrown out assuming they get a judge or witness who knows ANYTHING about the internet.
- pagno, on 05/15/2009, -8/+60"Bristol, your mom is a crackho!"
- ChristmasPoo, on 05/15/2009, -1/+39It'll probably be a judge from Wasilla
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -2/+36There is no teenage pregnancy or drug abuse in Alaska. And when there is...uh...it's caused by...uh...liberals who moved to Alaska or liberal politicians getting their way in Alaska! Which never happens because we are a strong patriotic state! But it does happen which is why there are teen pregnancies and drug abusers!
- NathanielJ, on 05/16/2009, -0/+33"She changed the DNS settings so that all traffic to Crackho.com would go directly to Sarah Palin's official website."
Huh? According to the website itself, they just had it redirect traffic via a meta refresh tag. Which is it? - AnalystX, on 05/16/2009, -6/+39I know it's probably beyond the comprehension of the crack IT staff working for the governor's office, but all they had to do was block the crackho.com IP address, or forward the request to yet another site. Then there would be no association made between the two sites.
- DDayDawg, on 05/16/2009, -1/+33Where do I cash in my internet points anyway?
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -5/+35Not a ***** thing. If you want to rip the republican party even further apart, nominate her.
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -3/+27Welcome to the concept of links, the basis for our modern internet.
- Phillycook2, on 05/16/2009, -3/+27The stupid is strong in that one, young Skywalker.
- hydrodev, on 05/16/2009, -5/+29She steals my air.
- chadsmith729, on 05/16/2009, -6/+26Her husband.
Her 19 kids all named after inanimate objects, I hear "paper towel" is coming soon!
Her ability to shoot things out of a helicopter
She's a republican, yes the same party that put in an express lane at death row in Texas.
She is borderline retarded, ooops that might be insensitive. Let me rephrase. She's an idiot.
She made a great porno, don't tell me that wasn't her it is!
She doesn't read newspapers or magazines
She can see Russia from her house
Most of her followers are "hill people" - hydrodev, on 05/16/2009, -3/+22Nu uh, poopie face!
- Darthyoshiboy, on 05/16/2009, -5/+23If you needed any further proof how much of an idiot she (Palin) is, look no further than the crack team of imbeciles that she has working for her. Any number of quick and effortless little tricks would have been so much more fun than a C&D from a lawyer, create your own content, setup an interesting mod_rewrite, redirect it in on itself, etc... Not like they could have been in any legal trouble, they're their servers, they can do with them as they please, just like the owner of the domain can point it where she wants.
- Treshnell, on 05/16/2009, -0/+17Just 10? Give them an Internets!
- BlueScreenOD, on 05/16/2009, -2/+19I think most people on Digg would rant and rave about it, but I don't think they would encourage cease and desist letters to be sent out.
Also, it's hard to claim that it's racist to call Sarah Palin a "crack ho." - inactive, on 05/16/2009, -5/+2210 points to whoever goes door to door to Palin supporters and hands them pamphlets with a picture of Bristol Palin and the caption "How Abstinence-Only Education is the Best Way for your Child (And your Soon-To-Be Grandchild)"
- ebcreasoner, on 05/16/2009, -5/+21Dontchaknow
- ViscidGobs, on 05/16/2009, -7/+23Stupidity. "Now which button do I push to start the dishwasher? Is it the red one? No. No. The red one is to launch all thermo-nuclear devices in the US arsenal, silly me, or is it the blue one, oh well, here goes."
- NathanielJ, on 05/16/2009, -3/+18So your argument is that in a hypothetical universe where something that you made up happened, hypothetical lefties are being hypocritical about something similar to this?
That's good logic, right there. - DDayDawg, on 05/16/2009, -5/+20Perhaps, but do you think Obama, a professor of Constitutional Law with a Harvard Law Degree, would send a C&D to try and stop it? No, no he wouldn't. There is no hypocrisy here. This isn't about liking or not liking something, it's about her staff using the law (or some made up law of their own) to bully someone into dropping a little tiny corner of free speech. But then again taking away our rights is sorta SOP for the Republicans.
- ryanonfire, on 05/16/2009, -0/+14I think it's debatable
- altgeeky1, on 05/16/2009, -1/+15I think you could have used an equally offensive URL to register your discontent...
...without letting the world know you are a racist. - guinpen, on 05/16/2009, -0/+14It's not too complicated to explain in over 30 seconds, really.. "In no way am I using or have anything to do with copyright material, this is merely an address which forwards somewhere else, much like telling someone where they can find a gas station does not constitute you stealing gas."
- haentz, on 05/16/2009, -0/+14"...her domain..."
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -3/+16"Bristol, You and your mom is a crackho"
- DDayDawg, on 05/16/2009, -0/+13Yeah, huge assumption there. Most of the law on how we handle the internet is still sorta soft so it's a risk. A small one though.
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -4/+16pitbulls don't have feathers you silly
- bearcat8543, on 05/16/2009, -2/+14i invited her to my *****.
seriously.... - hydrodev, on 05/16/2009, -3/+15Only a complete ***** moron still pins things down to "liberals" and "conservatives". Are you really so stupid you think that there are only people that are liberals and conservatives? You look like a jackass every time you say "liberals" this or that. Same with people who say "conservatives" this or that. They are just tired labels being used by uninformed nitwits.
- AndrewDB, on 05/16/2009, -3/+14The fact she was -this- close to getting the nuclear launch codes.
- Rubis1, on 05/16/2009, -1/+11We aren't demeaning women. We are demeaning Sarah Palin.
- TheMu, on 05/16/2009, -0/+10confused reporters strike again
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -2/+11wow a traitor and a bigot!
- iamgnat, on 05/16/2009, -3/+12The hits wouldn't be coming from crackho.com, so there is no IP to block.
The article is rather unclear since it seems to switch back and forth between DNS redirection and Meta Refresh redirection somewhat interchangeably, but either case is simple to handle in Apache via VirtualHost and RewriteRule configurations.
However, the article also implies that this prank never made it to anyone that understands what was actually happening as any Sys Admin worth half their pay check would have known what was going on. Though maybe their SAs don't like Sarah either so they played dumb ;-) - NYConcepts, on 05/16/2009, -6/+14Leave the ho alone!
- TonyCubed, on 05/16/2009, -1/+9Backyard? You do mean her daughters bedroom, right?
- charlie6969, on 05/16/2009, -2/+10Actually, I LIKE Obama...and I would still laugh. :)
- dougle, on 05/16/2009, -0/+8Can i just point out for my own peace of mind, that a meta refresh is not a DNS prank.
Thanks, had to point that out for my sanity. - bemenaker, on 05/16/2009, -1/+9Copyright absolutely not, slander, possibly. Of course if it's sarcasm it's protected by the 1st.
- Engival, on 05/16/2009, -1/+9The problem is, that's not really what the debate is. We now have a choice:
1. Digg you down for disagreeing with your comment.
2. File a cease and desist lawsuit against you for disagreeing with your comment.
Which would you prefer we did? - twiztidsinz, on 05/16/2009, -2/+9http://www.gov.state.ak.us/gov_eventinvite.php
Where can we send her? - JRowe3388, on 05/16/2009, -1/+8No, just the same place they get their news.
- violationz, on 05/16/2009, -4/+11proudlyignorantselfrighteousbumpkinwhothinksbigcitiesarefullofcrackhosandliberalswhoencouragetheirvicewhileexcusingteenagepregnancyandmethheadsinherownbackyard.com was too long to remember.
- robohoe, on 05/16/2009, -1/+84chan will do it.
- angryprick, on 05/16/2009, -2/+9RTFA - It was a simple META redirect that was used.
