- JRW5061, on 10/13/2008, -3/+29I like the new facebook.
*prepares to be buried* - StigNordas, on 10/12/2008, -7/+24People are realizing that putting personal info out there for friends is less risky than previously thought.
- MasterChief4134, on 10/13/2008, -0/+12what?
- ralphthemagi, on 10/13/2008, -2/+14People are realizing that there is really no point. People are realizing that the Facebook/MySpace style of social networking adds no real utility to anyone's life. Reconnecting with people you never really talked to in the first place loses its luster once you realize that you stopped talking to them because you never really liked them in the first place.
I'm not saying that Facebook is going anywhere, but I think trying to make Facebook the center of peoples' lives is just stupid. It's just not that important. I know it is to some people, but for most of us it's just a way to look at pictures of drunk people and waste time. I don't need to share anything and everything over Facebook. Why would I even want to? - WhoDoneIt, on 10/13/2008, -2/+12Wow, ignored the frat... what a douche.
- RMoore08, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10As you wish...
- peestandingup, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10That was like years ago. Shouldn't you be graduating??
- aliguana, on 10/13/2008, -0/+8yup. "Get the old Facebook back!!! New Method!! OMFG111!!!" spam has replaced "xxx has sent you a cocktail!" spam.
- natmaster, on 10/13/2008, -2/+10Moore's law does not mention speed. It has to do with the rate of increase of complexity (measured in number of transistors) on chips. Moore's original paper had a different figure than we currently use, as he refined the rate at a later time.
- MakanGuru, on 10/13/2008, -1/+9New facebook = data mining
- MattyLite, on 10/13/2008, -2/+10I've hated Facebook ever since they got rid of the feature where you put in which classes you're taking. I used to use that all the time for getting in contact with people in my classes! Facebook is almost useless to me now.
- Shlufi, on 10/13/2008, -3/+11That dork is the youngest self-made billionaire in the world, it's easier to step-back and laugh at someone from a distance rather than to accept that they're infinitely smarter and more successful than you. Zuckerberg helps this world in his own way, whether you want to accept it or not. Rather than living in mansion he lives in an apartment, case in point.
- HillerMylife, on 10/13/2008, -3/+10When I was in college, it was a neat way to keep on top of what was going on, where the parties were, what my friends were doing. It was also a fun, freer alternative to drunk dialing and texting.
Ever since I graduated about 18 months ago, it's been invaluable help keeping in touch with my best friends from college, seeing who's getting married, photos from vacations in foreign countries, etc. It's just a more persistent form of communication. - Tasach, on 10/13/2008, -0/+7he is only worth that on the premise that he can put more ads into facebook
- JohnnyKdiggs, on 10/13/2008, -2/+9...your information with the CIA."

- ElBeh, on 10/13/2008, -0/+7Flock.
- sinkktothebeat, on 10/13/2008, -0/+6What's next, sharing your social security number? Family tree? I really don't understand how much more information we could share with each other through facebook. I think we've reached our ceiling.
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -3/+9Zuckerberg, is one greedy *****. His net worth is estimate $1,500,000,000.00 and yet bitch wants by incorporating more ads into facebook.
- hank22, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6"I have a vast amount of knowledge in art, film, literature, music, culture in general."
lol - paradigmxx, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5Facebook needs to be focusing on a better monetary strategy - and not ***** knock-off pay per click system that yields incredibly low click-thru rates.
- cloudberries, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6Maybe the fraternity was full of arseholes. Maybe he didn't actually say "don't ever call this number again". Maybe actually none of that never really happened.
- Cannonballkid, on 10/13/2008, -4/+9I signed up for Facebook in 2004, that was my freshman year of college. I was reluctant at first and thought it was strange to ask for so many tidbits phone number, AIM, address etc But at that time it worked I remember missing class and would simply click on my posted schedule find a classmate and get the work in those respects it worked. I also remember all the stupid groups that people were creating just to see who could have the most people in theirs. In it's original premise as a college only site I liked it. Then Facebook started to change first was the onslaught of high schoolers than came the dreaded Apps and I know everyone can agree with me on the the whole invite thins for that was incredibly annoying. "For every dollar I get I'll do this" I lost Mah Phone Lulz needz numbas" "You've been bitten by a zombie/pirate/ninja" My favorite was the "help lower gas prices one" I know all social networking sites expand and change but I originally enjoyed FB for its simplicity now idk thats my rant...
- mrno, on 10/12/2008, -12/+17He should stop selling people's data.
- MtheoryX, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6@pyrotix:
"...a ride offer by somebody I only really know through Facebook."
That really, really worries me. - WhoDoneIt, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6You don't have to understand why Facebook is getting all this attention. The simple fact is, that when 10's of millions of teens take over the "new thing" online, money is soon to follow on advertising and the big bucks are poured in.
If companies pay over a million dollars for a 30 second commercial during the super bowl, what do you think companies are willing to shell out to hit millions of viewers 24/7, 365 days a year?
That is why Microsoft is interested in this company. You can literally launch anything and hit millions of people instantly. - aliguana, on 10/13/2008, -2/+6you think the CIA needs Facebook? Or need to ask for access to it?
- ChaseUtleyWampa, on 10/13/2008, -2/+6John: Facebook sucks....and always has.
- kp340806, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5What absolute *****. More private data available to stream throughout the world.
*turns privacy settings sky high*
My friends are a small group, at most 100 people I know closely and trust and perhaps 150 more acquaintances. Anyone outside of that group is not allowed into my private life, and dammit he better not sell information about me to third parties and stupid-ass adverts that are popping up everywhere on facebook. Tiring, commercialism is. - lordtyros, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Maybe he realized those money grubbing sons of bitches wouldn't have given a ***** about him if he weren't filthy rich.
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Facebook?
- locojones, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5"That dork is the youngest self-made billionaire in the world"
Um, the term self-made billionaire requires said person to actually have a billion dollars in a bank somewhere. Burning through venture capital money hardly qualifies. In fact, Facebook has never turned a profit, nor has any revenue model in place to do so. And it's suffering from a brain drain from the sudden efflux of its top executives to other more lucrative opportunities.
Zuckerberg is a douche who should've accepted Yahoo's 1 billion dollar buyout when they offered it. Now he's stuck on a sinking ship with negative growth and no model to whether a recession.
The reason he lives in an apartment instead of a mansion is because he has no money because the company makes nothing. He'll be lucky, given current circumstances, if he doesn't end up living in a box because he got selfish and greedy. - Maksx, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5OMG! we want the old facebook back!
thats unfortunately everyone's only response - MtheoryX, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5I wouldn't call it 'net worth,' I'd more accurately call it 'projected worth.'
If facebook doesn't turn a profit, he won't have anything, and all that he has now has been VC funding...as in: loans. - quaunaut, on 10/13/2008, -2/+6Usually people calling others losers are the douchebags who have to pay for a date once they're out of high school.
- MScrip, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5Yeah, it's fine. After some adjustment, it's actually better.
No more scrolling past dozen of useless apps to write on someone's Wall, and photos are much improved too. When you click on someone's profile, you can type a Wall post right there, and seeing their other info is just a click away. All the other garbage is hidden. Wall and Photos are right at the top. Isn't that what Facebook is all about?
I just got home from my college Homecoming... and I've already seen a hundred photos from the weekend.
Does anyone really go on Facebook to be a pirate or grow a garden? - chokeaduck, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3Genome. It's all leading to listing your DNA.
- PoopOnPaul, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3Just open up the chat to Jabber like you said you would 5 months ago! Christ!
- lazyfisherman, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3No but it would so damn easy to dip into the Facebook data once in a while.
- Everglow, on 10/13/2008, -2/+5Lol, get broken up via message today?
- PoopOnPaul, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4Holy ***** you're right! I'd completely forgotten they ever had that! That was a ***** good feature!
Watching the decline in quality on facebook has been very sad.
I used to actually kinda LIKE it. - CrushThemTorg, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4I think a Lain joke might have worked better.
- WhoDoneIt, on 10/13/2008, -2/+5You do realize that you will leave school one day if you already haven't and those features would remain useless to you... so how exactly would a business thrive if every 5 years they have all new clientele?
Grow up. - ReaXan, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4but will I be able to run Crysis?
- ralphthemagi, on 10/13/2008, -2/+5Nah, that's part of the plan. If Facebook ever folds they are probably just going to sell everyone's photos to a stock photo website.
- peterredding, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I can't believe you've done this.
- Gibletoid, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2If you add Myspace as a friend on Facebook, _all_ of the internets will crash at once. Do not do this.
- shauncorleone, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3The outrage over the "new Facebook" is only rivaled by that over the News Feed. Everybody called it the Stalker Feed when it first launched, but I'd say it is the biggest reason Facebook has stayed relevant after opening itself up to an audience outside educational institutions.
