Generally, they're attacked for the banality of their ideas, not their erudition, and for being too open-minded, not for being pretentious or hypercritical. Psychobabble? Yeah, you could call it that. *****? Well, coming from people who are prone to claiming "sense" and "nonsense" are the same thing, attacking the clarity and coherence of their ideas just kind of misses the point entirely. If self-hypnosis isn't logically valid enough to be groovy, which is really all it's trying to be, we might as well claim the pythagorean theorem isn't groovy enough to be logically valid while we're at it. Don't let your sense trample on your nonsense.
