- EdLesMann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2While I have reasons to dislike adsense, this article is PERFECT for so many other things. For a while I was an assistant mod on a Linux forum...If I couldn't read your post I didn't answer, if you were rude, I didn't answer. Why should I? I got so tired of seeing posts like "r u sho dis wok? i typd n da cmd u post n notin hapnd". Seriously, how much more extra effort is it to type the vs da? or in vs n? or show vs sho? I can understand missing a letter, hell I suck so badly at spelling my friends tease me about it...but I know where the spell check is!
Arg, that in my opinion is the worst thing in modern futile attempts to be "cool"...backwards clothes, I can handle. Retards buying H2/3 and escalades to be "bling", annoying but I can handle. Watching kids put on so much jewelry they look like Mr. T, I can handle. But learn to speak/type G***AMN ENGLISH! ( insert language of forum/message board here)
Anyway, dugg because there needs to be more people like this guy promoting how to write a good response in message boards/forums. - dusingaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am a AdWords advertiser and the thing that bugs me is if they suspend your adsense account for what they believe to be fraudulent traffic, they STILL charge me for the clicks... if they don't pay you they sure as hell don't refund my money.
Since I am paying for the ad no matter what apparently, I'd rather it just go to adsense guy and not google. - CaptainKewl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This guy is smarter than everyone else on digg combined.
- rebrad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wondered what all the fuss was too. What is AdSense? I blocked it a long time ago and continue to block new annoyances when they pop up. Sounds like it was a good thing I did.
- dickyducky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1adsense makes no sense
- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1>>"Enquire" within?!?!?!?! You illiterate *****.
"Enquire or Inquire?
This word can be spelled either way, although the tendency is to use enquire when asking for information, and inquirewhen conducting an investigation.

Thank goodness we have your grasp of the English language to put us right - romper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was banned by AdSense for being related to another account that was canceled due to invalid click activity... which was incorrect because I only had one account... ever. Nor did I ever click on any of my own ads, even by mistake.
So I politely explained to them that they were incorrect, and after a human review (a few emails and a week's time) they reinstated my account. Yay!
Except then they canceled it again a week later for the exact same logic. I referred to the original case in which I was reinstated, and two weeks later they told me that after a human review they determined that I was related to a previously canceled account.
So the final solution? I switched to Yahoo! Publisher Network and am very happy so far. =)
Google AdSense is in a position where they have the power to sh*t on their customers and can easily turn a deaf ear to (most of) their accounts. This will always be the case until there's some decent competition in the marketplace, and I will welcome that day. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I have a better idea:
Don't use adsense at all. Stop whoring out your websites and blogs and create content and services and communities FOR THE SAKE OF DOING SO. I'm so ***** tired of peopel trying to monetize every ***** thing they do. - kagayaki1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, quasi typo in headline - in these parts we prefer "inquire"; do people use "enquire" a lot? I know it's a variant. Not sure if I'll digg or not...
Semi-interesting, a little too much complaining... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks to whoever originally dugg the story and to all those who have read it since
- phntm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh man, didn't even know a jump in traffic means a ban, good thing i wasn't .ed i guess
- skell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0CommonSense for AdSense. Love it.
- noobster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice article, funny intro, and he actually knows his stuff.
- mystudio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well thanks god I'm using sortedclick's service, so far 6 month without a ban ;)
and my users no more then one click for 24 hours http://www.sortedclick.com
enjoy ;) - kilps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great article, I suppose sites which are dugg/slashdotted do not get this problem as there is the referer? Otherwise I suppose it is a problem ...
- mdvaldosta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lol, good article. Wonder if it works, hope I'll never need to know :D
- denyba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was a well reasoned, finely articulated article. I need more intelligent discussion and less meaningless negativity.
And btw: The punctuation is fine. - jsnkc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was banned and I wrote Google a letter and they re-instated me right away.
- ninjadan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@PRAT
Did you even read the article?
Great advice ++digg - RadiatedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL if he's using adsense on the page he will get banned again from the digge effect LMAO I wouldnt know since im using adblock plus ;) on firefox
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just to answer a few of the negative comments:
Point 1 - The Title
If you read my blog you will see I try to inject a bit of humuor in even my serious posts. If you don't understand irony, I probably don't have the time to explain it
Point 2 - Using a Post About AdSense to Profit from AdSense
Again, this isn't accurate. If the few people critical of this took time to put down the papers they were grading for their Community College class and look at the site, they would see it was a personal blog with no ads. Uniques to this Point: 15,000 Profit: $0
Point 3 - Comments About the Grammar of my Post
This is my writing style - natural. Its what I am comfortable and if it means a , instead of a ; then so be it. I wasn't writing the post to send to AdSense, I was writing it to convey my point.
To all that liked it and dugg it, Cheers! - romper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@seumas: Because it does generate revenue. AdSense (well, now Yahoo Publisher) pays my car payment every month, as well as web hosting for my "hobby" which I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.
My "hobby" is directly related to my job, and I get better at it as a result of the sites that I host and the experience I gain. This will in turn get me more money and a better position at my company. Again, if it didn't at least pay for itself, I wouldn't be able to pursue it.
And there are many people who make their complete living from web-driven advertising. I say more power to them! If I could work from home just a few hours a week and provide for my family (which I could spend more time with if I had to work less), then great! Just because you can't do it doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. Not that you'd even try, I suppose. - techgirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great article, well-composed. I enjoyed reading it, even though it's never happened to me...very informative!
- Crazen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sounds like they are trying to keep all the money to themselves.
- nokia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wonderfule Article.
- ,,|,_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0words you should avoid:
http://digg.com/design/Google_Adsense_Stop_Words - hurricanesh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great article, although I don't hope it will be helpful to me some day...
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0diggity. I likes.
- romper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@seumas: Yes, because of course time is easily gotten and money grows on trees. What you call "whoring" some of us call "trying to make a living."
- rjbudke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank you very much. I was looking for something exactly like this, and it's been about 2 weeks since my account was banned. After receiving next to no help in the Digital Points forum, I was about ready to give up. I figured if someone from Google was going to review my account they would have done it by now, after reading your post I know that's not the case. If for nothing else, that single fact makes this worthwhile in my book.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0romper said "@seumas: Yes, because of course time is easily gotten and money grows on trees. What you call "whoring" some of us call "trying to make a living.""
Isn't that what a job is for?
Seriously, stop trying to convince yourself that you can do the "work from home in your underwear, stuffing envelopes!" and realize that a website (or blog - whatever) is typically a passion or hobby. Why would you crappify something you supposedly care so much about by plastering it with revenue generating advertising? - spanky99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thanks for the post...I found it interesting
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Word.... good read.

- PRAT, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Jeez. This is Digg front page ? Plugging adsense on your blog itself is so lame.
