- AmazingSteve, on 10/16/2008, -3/+244Owned by a law he voted for. Oh the Irony.
- humidcity, on 10/15/2008, -3/+244This s a much deserved lesson to someone who wants to legislate on tech he does not understand and cannot use. YouTube just gained a lot of points in my book!
- Nekura20x6, on 10/15/2008, -6/+150This is priceless. Maybe these "IP-First / America Last" idiots will finally start to see what the hell "fair use" actually means.
- MakanGuru, on 10/16/2008, -3/+123lol self-pwned
internet 1 - McCain 0 - Mononuclear, on 10/16/2008, -1/+55I am not sure if McCain even has any clue this is happening or it was just written by some lawyers on his campaign staff but it is funny. Vote for more powerful DMCA and then it comes back and bites you in the ass when someone uses it against you.
- JK1150, on 10/16/2008, -5/+39Joe Biden is gonna be a nightmare concerning any internet freedom issue. Don't let your partisanship blind you...
- johnnyredcap, on 10/16/2008, -2/+34You made your bed old man, now lie in it!
- somedudemanguy, on 10/16/2008, -1/+32Hey as long as they don't take those hilarious Palin ones down
- deem1890, on 10/16/2008, -6/+35Here are your bingo cards for tonight’s final debate!
https://www.motherjones.com/secure/images/WS08D/bi ... - akchrs, on 10/16/2008, -5/+30Don't forget who loves the internet
http://digg.com/political_opinion/Biden_dislikes_F ... - lazarus2405, on 10/15/2008, -9/+33Since it seems that in all likelihood Sen. McCain will be returning to the Senate in 2009, perhaps he can be part of the solution. Tut tut.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/16/2008, -0/+22McCain supported this purely on the payola he took to support his fat cat RIAA friends. He didn't understand the tech or the issues, and he didn't give one second of thought to how it would affect millions of users and voters. And now, he can suck it up for his own out of touch old Washington ignorance.
One REALLY important prerequisite for legislating issues regarding the Internet must be to know how to actually use it and have a fundamental grasp of its affect on the modern world.
Obama gets it. McCain doesn't have the foggiest. - inactive, on 10/16/2008, -5/+25YouTube for president!
- feyded, on 10/16/2008, -7/+27But.. but... he's a war hero!
- Renian, on 10/16/2008, -0/+20Youtube = Google, so if they don't already have over 9000 points in your book, something's wrong.
- strictnein, on 10/16/2008, -1/+21McCain signed a law into effect? When was he the President?
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -0/+20Woops, I totally misworded that. Stop the presses: I'm a moron.
- theghoul, on 10/16/2008, -3/+22Good form Youtube. Of course McCain himself wont understand this, but its good for others to see the harm the DMCA can cause.
Repeal that ***** Obama. - uselessexpert, on 10/16/2008, -5/+22AWESOME!!! It's funny how Karma comes back to put her foot up his ass!
- regeya, on 10/16/2008, -2/+19Making a Republican live up to the DMCA? But, but, but that's what the terrorists want you to do, YouTube! You could be putting lives of hard-working heroic Americans in danger, donchaknow? I mean, hell, you're doing this to a wounded war hero, YouTube! Have you no shame?
LOL - pseudojd, on 10/16/2008, -2/+18This is irony gold.
- tekism, on 10/16/2008, -2/+18that has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read.
- weaksnyc, on 08/14/2009, -1/+16Too bad McCain still doesn't know a damned thing about it. It's his campaign that's uploading the videos, and it's his campaign complaining about the takedowns. McCain doesn't even know what YouTube is...
- SilverBack101, on 10/16/2008, -1/+14As Nelson Muntz would say, "Haw haw!"
- Naieve, on 10/16/2008, -0/+13It took him so long to learn anything about the internet because the evil arch nemesis Al Gore created it.
- Falldog, on 10/16/2008, -1/+14***** fantastic response.
- SifuMoKung, on 10/16/2008, -0/+13You sir, an an idiot. This is the result of advocating legislation without an understanding of the long term consequences.
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -4/+16more like McCain 1 - McCain 0 since he signed the law into effect :P
- YokohamaGaijin, on 10/16/2008, -2/+13Well.. he was against it before it was for it!
- bongo, on 10/16/2008, -0/+11I think that the internets have racked up more points than that by now.
- SeanBowe16, on 10/16/2008, -1/+11How the hell are they biased?
- thecheatah, on 10/16/2008, -0/+9They already have a lot of points in my book, I just don't keep track anymore.
- abcdefghij, on 10/16/2008, -0/+9maybe she'll holler at Russian hackers to put back the videos back on YouTube. They're just across the pond from her double-wide.
- tehknotte, on 10/16/2008, -2/+11wow i dont think you have a clue what you're talking about...
- gypsyjoe, on 10/16/2008, -6/+15Palin will no doubt have some lies to tell about this.
- TexasShiv, on 10/16/2008, -2/+11Forget watching this, I am going out to have a beer with Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plumber
- eatsushi, on 10/16/2008, -6/+14I've said it before for both McCain and Palin, and can't get enough of it....Epic ***** FAIL
- djrbx, on 10/16/2008, -0/+7*Waving a laptop in the air*
-This is the technology McCain helped to create, including YouTube.
For the uninitiated:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10043126-38.html - inactive, on 10/16/2008, -0/+7No he isn't, the platoon he was with are, they didn't squeal...
- SSPink, on 10/16/2008, -1/+8But he has been lying, he's been lying non-stop for a month now. You people are asking too much, he's lying as much is as humanly possible and you want more? Now you want him to start telling his lies from bed? For shame, McCain is a war hero and he's doing his best to lie as much as he can, damn it.
- SifuMoKung, on 10/16/2008, -1/+8I don't see a bias here. I see a business that has had it's hands tied by legislation. They were very clear in stating that compliance with the campaign's requests leaves them vulnerable to litigation. If McCain had a hand in it, well, so be it. They didn't make the rules, they are just forced to abide by them. How is that biased?
- xerigen, on 10/16/2008, -1/+8What?! 9000?!
- nonchalantmoon, on 10/16/2008, -1/+7Teaches you to mess with our 'series of tubes'!
- TonyLocNE, on 10/16/2008, -0/+6that's nothing to laugh out loud about....
but yeah, I caught that too.. - alex7575, on 10/16/2008, -1/+7The irony is just too precious.
- barc0001, on 10/16/2008, -1/+7"Dammit, lying in a bed for 5 1/2 years was all I COULD do!"
- thenet411, on 10/16/2008, -0/+6This kind of crap is just one, of 2,384,981, the things that I despise about politics. Not only do these professional liars actually begin to believe their own hype, but the comments attached to the stories that bring them to light are peppered with obvious attempts by campaign workers to spin the response their way. They actually believe that we are dumb enough to not see right through their complete B.S. I will be so glad when Obama is President and this whole thing will be over.
- enantiodromia, on 10/16/2008, -0/+6yeah, take a stand on something you dont understand, or understand so well you know the law you are voting on is utter *****.
but take a stand no matter what, that's always the best thing to do. learning about stuff is for gay people. am i right? - enantiodromia, on 10/16/2008, -0/+6Uh oh, now McCain is going to call his daddy and a Congressman to get him out of yet another mess.
before you know it, he'll be back on his feet, getting arrested for drunk and disorderly, yelling obscenities in public at a woman who rejected his advances, like that one time in Annapolis. - tashtego67, on 10/16/2008, -1/+6I love this so very very much.
