- keyme, on 11/09/2007, -0/+22Great. I wonder if they could also add a search criteria to return flagged results only. Only the good stuff is flagged.
- tylerjames, on 11/08/2007, -1/+17Please help us to sterilize our environment.
Interesting things are offensive. Uninteresting things are equally offensive.
All videos must be shot against a grey background.
Humans are offensive. Animals are offensive.
Colourful language is unacceptable. Only grey language will be accepted.
Religion is offensive. Lack of religions is more offensive.
Your video infringes my rights. - AlphaBronco, on 01/25/2009, -1/+16Should be renamed to the "Youtube Video Snitching System"
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -2/+13Porn on youtube = good
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -1/+8Good article. The more option flagging is a good idea, but one of the editing features I would like to see is when some videos are embedded onto your website or blog; at the end of the video that you have embedded; sometimes features other questionable videos, at the end, that you may not wish for your viewers to see. I wish that when a video was embedded onto a site, from social video networks, that they would just advertise by placing a list of video categories that the website visitor could select from to view any other videos from their social site. What I mean is let it be the viewers choice. That way no one is offended if a video with possible objectionable content pops up.
- glucoseboy, on 11/08/2007, -0/+4So, is this a response to the Finland shootings? The timing would suggest so. However, I can see this leading down a slippery slope of liability that Youtube may not want to get into. (i.e. we flagged this as dangerous and you didn't notify the authorities!)
- atb112, on 11/10/2007, -2/+6Holy sh*t! Quick someone call CNN!
- Scopitone, on 11/09/2007, -1/+5Snitches get stitches!
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -1/+5..and this is good how?
All it does is promote censorship. - strictnein, on 11/09/2007, -1/+3See, the neat thing about digg.com is if you find something interesting/exciting/titillating, you simply "digg" it. Thus you have shown everyone that you find it worthwhile.
- rot13ubercrypto, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2Great, easier flagging of videos on YouTube. Saving pimply-faced adolescent morons the trouble of typing in "D0)D TIHS FUKCING SUckS!!!1eleven
- strictnein, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2every site is for Porn
- blueZhift, on 11/08/2007, -1/+3While this is a useful tool, it will only be as good as YouTube's response to the inevitable abuse of this feature. And of course, they'll certainly need to add staff to keep up, well trained (ie expensive) staff, if this is to work with speed as well as integrity.
- chincopanda, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2"report the video to a human editor at YouTube"
I'm sure that thousands of videos will be flagged every day. How could all of them be handled by human editors? - CiXeL, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1i had to login for this post but i noticed something that creeped me out.
everytime you login youre confirming your post. theyre recording your ip.
you cant say it wasnt you who typed something.
it holds you accountable for your opinions and gives the government a wonderful paper trail.
with everyone now fully aware that the government is tracking things.
the time for paranoia is now.
they are building up a case history and cross referencing it and will hold it against you if they ever need to. - strictnein, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Rednecks? More like upper class, suburban white kids.
- akash8m, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1This will be good in certain situations like the Finnish guy who posted videos for the last two weeks, if somebody had found that earlier, they could have prevented the incident.
- dcmjzero, on 11/08/2007, -4/+5aren't there other sites for this?
- CiXeL, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1embracing the police state with open arms
- geehossiphats, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1It's probably in response to the pr0n video that I saw on the main page the other day.
- Guy4, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Anybody else notice that when you hover over the "flag" button on the youtube page of a video, it says innapropriate instead of inappropriate?
- geehossiphats, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1I'm sure it was in response to the pr0n video that got posted on its main page the other day. I saw it myself. They probaly caught a lot of hell for it.
- Guy4, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Ok, I meant the icon next to the "flag" link.
- LaerrusFish, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1It was a video of him pointing a gun at the screen.
If we start reporting every yahoo with a gun on youtube as a danger we will have a lot of pissed off rednecks. - frostbyt, on 11/09/2007, -2/+2Sounds like another invention from Ru Paul. Keep it out of office!
- livejamie, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1wow, what a job
- Eruonen, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0You have me curious. What did the Finnish Guy post? :S I haven't heard about this ... though I really don't care too much about YouTube. :P
- madmonkey300, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0what about video quality?
- LaerrusFish, on 11/08/2007, -0/+0Off topic - ish
Anyone notice in the language section (the small icon in the upper right of the youtube homepage)
there is no USA, No America. We got Canada and the UK and all the rest but no US of A.
What do we get? The world. American English is now "Global" check it out. - kainnation, on 11/09/2007, -2/+0... And at the end they thank you by saying you may face criminal penalties... all the good stuff will be gone soon... when will the first lawsuit happen over you took off my video? ooh look my captcha was "2reem" fun stuff thanks Digg!
- tas08, on 11/09/2007, -6/+0I think this is great and overdue! Good job YouTube, I'm glad to see something like this.
