- Evolutuon, on 08/05/2008, -0/+67Google just needs to buy Viacom, problem solved.
- basye, on 08/05/2008, -0/+65Chris Crocker is throwing a temper tantrum?
/surprise - richardhammond, on 08/05/2008, -1/+53Viacom should leave Google alone. Seriously, anybody who knows anything about stealing copyrighted content knows that it is all hosted on those Asian Youtube Clones. Google is just an easy target because they have lots of information and money. Blahhh.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -1/+48I can't believe the submitter described Cris Crocker as 'high profile'.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -2/+46Google needs to tell Viacom to STFU
Leave our INternets ALONE! - arlok789, on 08/05/2008, -3/+44LEAVE CHRIS CROCKER ALONE!!! HE ISN"T WELL RIGHT NOW. HE HAS TO LEAVE YOUTOOB!!!!
- Import98, on 08/05/2008, -0/+41I'm an avid YouTube browser and never heard of Loic Lemeur and Crocker videos are horrible IMO. No big loss to me....
- MidnightRIder77, on 08/05/2008, -0/+24Chris Crocker is leaving? Maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all.
- igothugeguns, on 08/05/2008, -6/+28Lets play a game! It is a super easy game. Its called, Ask Google. Here is how to play.
Open browser.
Type in www.google.com
Type in Chris Crocker
WIN!!!! - FUR10N, on 08/05/2008, -0/+18that would be so unbelievably awesome
- whatthefu, on 08/05/2008, -0/+18Viacom is a giant company. Giant companies prefer money over ethics unless the ignoring of ethics will significantly damage their profit in the long run.
- leerayIG88, on 08/05/2008, -1/+17As long as I get to see random videos fighting in the streets, it's all good.
- tidu, on 08/05/2008, -0/+13I lost
- bbliss17, on 08/05/2008, -0/+12lol that would be hilarious
- zyklon, on 08/05/2008, -0/+11Viacom needs to shut the ***** up.
- PopcornDave, on 08/05/2008, -0/+11FTA: "The content in question? Interviews with Lemeur on French television programs that he’d been given permission to share with his viewers. Rather than simply removing the content, YouTube suspended Lemeur’s entire account."
Nothing like using a hammer when a feather will do. Well done Google. - Travelsonic, on 08/05/2008, -0/+11"..ironing out any potential issues over copyright theft."
Oh for god's sake... COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT>
Copyright theft doesn't exist, or if it did, it'd require seizing copyright from somebody. - Xihix, on 08/05/2008, -0/+9Chris Crocker is leaving? I don't see how this could in any way be a bad thing.
- LeeSoong, on 08/05/2008, -0/+8Viacom is annoying.
Nothing a joint NATO + U.N. + USA Military tactical air strike couldn't solve.
Decapitation 'Shock and Awe' style.
Hey if it's ok to do to Iraq (which didn't annoy YouTube viewers) - then it is high time to use military solutions against rogue corporations that threaten Internet Freedom.
Afterwards, U.N. troops can be stationed to police Viacom corporate meetings, monitor hallways, and ensure a peaceful transition of power to a 'net friendly' regime.
Unfortunately, the entire Viacom legal department will need shipped off to Guantanamo Bay:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/moredetails.aspx?produ ... - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+8Good riddance, I've never watched any of those people.
- SquigglyP, on 08/06/2008, -1/+9his departure from youtube will probably result in a jump in the overall IQ of youtube users. Seriously, these retards leaving youtube will probably end up being the best god damn thing that ever happened to it. If the ***** start spamming their worthless ***** on vimeo, tho, I'll be ***** pissed.
- HiroOfShadows, on 08/05/2008, -0/+8Uh, who cares? Chris Crocker sucks and I've never even heard of this Lemur guy....
- scavbh, on 08/05/2008, -1/+8Chris crocker :- " LEAVE YOUTUBE ALONE... .PLEASE LEAVE YOUTUBE ALONE"
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+7***** VIACOM why can't they just get with the program? Why not have a Viacom youtube channel and maybe throw in a few ads on the side, then wouldn't everyone be happy?
- stubear, on 08/05/2008, -2/+9What's Google?
- Gravey9, on 08/05/2008, -0/+6NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not Croker...
/sarcasm - inactive, on 08/05/2008, -1/+7Only 2 useless users leave anyway who cares.Youtube is still the best.
- bbliss17, on 08/05/2008, -0/+6chris crocker is leaving and i am so happy
- Vurk, on 08/06/2008, -1/+6@ benologist:
go to hell. - yutewa00, on 08/05/2008, -0/+5I thought that leave brittney alone was a joke but now I see he's a psycho.
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -1/+6YouTube is sucking more and more everyday.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4Actually he is right by definition.
Using copyright protected content is an infringement. It does not constitute theft. - ScaredOfTheMan, on 08/05/2008, -0/+4I Love me some Youtube as much as the next fellow.....lately though I've found myself on other sites with better resolution video, Funny or Die, and Vimeo to name a few.
I think Youtube's dominance comes from it being a "platform" everyone and their mom can now stream Youtube videos, but how long before more web video sites have that capability, well then it comes back to coolest content, and I think Youtube my see some significant defections. - pprkut, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4I didnt even know who Crocker was until they linked that stupid "Leave Britney Alone!!!!!!!!" video...no loss for me if he leaves.
- Vurk, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4@ jerrycurley
go to hell. - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -1/+5LEAVE GOOGLE ALONE!!!
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4Imagine the advertising they could do then. You tube Viacom channel add supported video on demand.
- Aaronontheweb, on 08/05/2008, -0/+4This site doesn't have nearly enough AdSense units on it - I could almost read the article above the fold. Clearly: needs more AdSense.
- GhostyBoy, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3I don't think Crocker understands that he is quasi-famous for being such a pathetic ***** loser.
- Minivolt, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3big deal Chris Crocker is leaving. Some ppl have some over inflated ego.
- thetruthisthere, on 08/05/2008, -0/+3Come on GOOGLE. DONT BE EVIL.
Stop taking down videos...call the whole site social art. And have all content hosted by YouTube in the public domain.
Viacom is losing money. They have lost their target audience to the internest. Why watch any of viacoms content when you can have youre own - Travelsonic, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Just because an ignorant ***** like you misinterprets the law does not make it so. I actually read the laws instead of puling stuff out of my ass. Nice try.
- DifferentAngle, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3That'd be a fun negotiation:
"You're going to drop this suit now, or we're going to buy your company and fire you." - thegrantman, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Crocker gets his panties in a bunch......Viacomm gets their panties in a bunch....must be that time of the month.
- DeathfireD, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3They've been doing this to a number of people recently. Renetto's, who recently was reciting poems, almost had his account suspended due to his video called "DMCA'd Everyday" and becuse a company who hosts the poems on their site claimed they owned copywrite on them. His DMCA video was basically about being suspended because people have clips and music in the background of their videos. Smosh also got suspended for some random reason. I think they where attempting to show how easy it was by having one of their friends file a DMCA on their account. Of course a day later they where unsuspended because they filed a counter claim. It's like a game now. If someone wants to piss you off they just file a DMCA and Google automatically removes the content and may suspend your account.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+3Being a video-creator/vlogger on Youtube myself, I can only say thank god, nothing of value was lost
Then again, Viacom should be sodomized with a large piece of rebar for all the ***** they're doing to Google - Vurk, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2@ jerrycurley
go to hell. - pennvneff, on 08/06/2008, -1/+3I just saw a big ad for Scientology on Youtube today. ***** shame they sold out to Xenu.
- SquigglyP, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2they're an easy target because they fall under US jurisdiction...
- bigteebo, on 08/06/2008, -0/+2Sometimes I think if you get too popular, YouTube sees you as an individual and stamps you down because of it. No one person can become more popular than all the rest, and *poof* your account is gone. I know at least Angry Video Game Nerd moved over to Screwattack, giving him more than 10 minutes per video and better vid quality.
