ONE PAGE
When will news outlets learn people give up half way through their multiple page crap! - freshyill, on 06/26/2008, -2/+32***** this. From now on, i'm burying any ***** stories spread across as many pages as possible so somebody can inflate their page views.
- Judman, on 06/26/2008, -0/+24It would have been easier to list the people who AREN'T leaving.
- Flappy3, on 06/26/2008, -0/+23DIY Yahoo resignation letter.
http://yahoorezinr.com/ - uhhNo, on 06/26/2008, -1/+2318 pages?!?!
- inactive, on 06/26/2008, -2/+21Sweet Jesus. 18 Pages for that?
- dOOBiEx213, on 06/26/2008, -1/+19Yahoo: Who gives a *****.
- mecharabbit, on 06/26/2008, -0/+9R.I.P. Internet 1.0
- EASwanson, on 06/25/2008, -6/+15I'm with Carl Icahn on this one. The two founders of Yahoo shouldn't of been included in the talks with Microsoft because they feel like they are selling their baby (and in a sense they are) but it's not their company anymore... Together they only make up what like 10-11% of the companies shares. They thought they could get more then what was reasonable now they look like little kids running around in business suits. I wouldn't want to be Jerry Yang right now.
- ryanonfire, on 06/26/2008, -0/+8at least they didn't do a forbes
- TheChunt, on 06/26/2008, -1/+9"Scott Gatz New job: Founder and CEO, GayCities"
Eh? - Branchex, on 06/26/2008, -0/+7Someone tell me why a merger with MS was gonna make people wanna stay. That would just mean they would be part of a larger company that has to deal with ***** of combining 2 companies plus the layoffs that come with it.
- allenu, on 06/26/2008, -1/+7I love the comments made on leaving:
"the time is right to move on"
"This has nothing to do with the 'challenging times' Yahoo is supposed to be facing, nor with anyone there, nor with Carl Icahn"
"The reality is that there's nothing pushing me out the door at Yahoo."
As most people who have ever resigned or seen other people resign know, people lie about why they're leaving. I don't blame them (don't want to burn any bridges, want to be polite etc.), but you gotta admit it is funny when things are falling apart to hear somebody say, "this place is still great, I just found an exciting new thing I want to pursue". In reality, they're all thinking, "So long, stink town!" - Hefelumpman, on 06/26/2008, -0/+6FRONT AND BACK!
- kalleanka, on 06/26/2008, -3/+8I'm a user of Google just as much as anyone else here, but I can't stand all the bull ***** from many of the submitters before me.
Yahoo has a couple of really valuable services like Finance, Sports and Flickr.
Also, Yahoo is very large in Asia, and Yahoo owns a very large share of Alibaba and 50% of Yahoo Japan (which is an independent company, half owned by Yahoo).
Besides, I really hope their search improve so we get more competition in the search space. Having one company with monopoly is never good. Just look what happened with Microsoft from early 1990 and ten years later. Yes, the same thing can happen to your favorite search engine too.
Digg me down, but I for one hope for the best for Yahoo. - monkeyhoward, on 06/26/2008, -1/+6Yahoo is irrelevant.
A web 1.zero dinosaur that was relegated to buying up somewhat cool web 2.0 startups like flickr in a desperate attempt to stay relevant. But instead of utilizing the talent those new companies brought in, they instead pissed them off and forced them out. Admittedly, employees whose pockets are bulging with cash from recent buyouts are not the most motivated individuals and kind of tough to keep around when they finally realize that it isn't their show anymore. But Yahoo should have known that.
But it does not matter because they are irrelevant.
Like it or not, Google is eating everyones lunch in this market and there is no near end to their domination.
Google frightens Microsoft, Yahoo is just a nuisance that needs to be taken out at the knees to give Microsoft a better share of Google's table scraps. - skyshock1, on 06/26/2008, -2/+7Buried for being an 18 page ***** of slides. WTF, is this Forbes??
- monkeyhoward, on 06/26/2008, -0/+5"....adding that he and his long-time partner got married. "And the results have been great.""
Yeah, I know I'm taking Scott's quote a bit out of context but.....
Are ya startn' to get the picture now Mr Chunt?
Not that there's anything wrong with it... - pw378, on 06/26/2008, -1/+5You think a Icahn, a 5% shareholder should have more say than then founders who own more than 20% of the company? I wonder if you would feel the same way if you ever poured your life into building a company...
- RetlawST, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Yeah, I didn't notice that until AFTER I read that he just married his longtime partner.
- fugazied, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Isn't that like 14'000 people?
- KMartSheriff, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Yahoo answers is alright sometimes. Other than that, I never go there.
- bonjourmr, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Who is stepping in to replace them, any big names?
- Serpentine1618, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3The last part of your statement gave it away. Business is all about numbers, money and, most importantly, objectivity.
Jerry Yang would have been, without a doubt, incredibly biased in his evaluation of his own company (it was his baby). His biases violated the necessary "cold/objective" mentality required when doing business transactions/negotiations and I don't think Yang saw that. - Coolmatt49, on 06/26/2008, -1/+4They waste internet space! That's not thinking green.
- gannondork, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2over 9000 pages, forget that I'm not going to click that many times my hand will fall off and die of gangrene.
- aussia, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Number five looks like he's from the cast of star trek...
- endustry, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Yahoo! had vision in the very beginning -- before the Stanford Golf Team took over management that is. Right now I think they're a brand name with a few useful parts that could easily be spun into someone else's network. Don't be surprised if in ten years from now the only time you see a Yahoo! logo is on some dumbed-down, internet-for-idiots product created by whoever eventually takes them over.
- LeviTheSmith, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2ENERGY CRYSTALS
- DjOverEZ, on 06/26/2008, -1/+3Caterina Fake is a hottie.
- Mowglie, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2neither do I.
- EffZee, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Is this some sort of hyper-global-interweb joke that I'm just not getting because I can't quite fathom how or why anyone would actually care about this.
- Incognito, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1After Yahoo got rid of their hilarious forums it all went downhill from there.
BRING BACK THE YAHOO FORUMS! - inactive, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1i play fantasy sports on yahoo and occasionally backgammon
- Navicerts, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1They shot themselves in the foot by replicating what google was doing as fast as they could instead of trying to be creative on their own.
- JSager, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Man, and here I just thought you got hair on your palms.
- inactive, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Yahoo is falling apart at the seems. It's very ugly on the inside... lots of mismanagement...
- krevenJB, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Caterina Fake? Damn I'd hate to have that last name battered with the name "Ima". lol
- EASwanson, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Carl Icahn is saying what a near majority of institutions and individual holders are saying that we have a right to say what we want done. Most of the stockholders would love to see their shares go for 33-37$ a share and the majority rules when it comes to these situations. Re-elect the board of directors.
- fireashes, on 06/26/2008, -1/+2I am little bit worried. I use yahoo as my primary email. I have gmail but I have been using yahoo for a long time so I am not that much happy that yahoo is doomed.
- cyberkode, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Look at Bon Voyage's photo, is it that hard to get one that is in focus?
- cjohara, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1That would be a better slide show because you know that Phill from the mail room would finally get the credit he deserves. Phil... he show's up.
- Navicerts, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1They will stop when they no longer get paid "per click".
- tonyDigger, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1I think this issue is already been beaten to death. And again.
Seen those Techcrunch articles...
We should leave Yahoo and Jerry Alone. - soulpatch, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1GayCities? You're kidding, right?
- Elranzer, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Is that what they're calling GeoCities now??
- Sfenton, on 06/26/2008, -5/+6Yahoo shot themselves in the foot by not accepting Microsoft offer.
- Britney90210, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Yahoo is trashed...
- inactive, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Huh.. you'd find as many people leaving any other company over a six month period - half are speculation, half said they either got fired or left because of other issues... pointless read.
