- gregdogum, on 01/18/2008, -2/+15When will digg support OpenIDs?
- rooskie, on 01/18/2008, -0/+10other is a dupe that points to a blog. This is an original that points to the source.
- Sairgem, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6Except submitted 2 hours earlier, and links directly to yahoo which gives you all the information you need to know. Bury the other one, they even copied the title.
- roastedbagel, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6Noted, I dugg this one.
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2that is probably a better solution. But still googles server could still be hacked. But that chance is a lot less then the openid servers.
- pengas, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Pretty scary in my eyes. If most of the sites u surf are secured by the same password - what may happen if that one is compromised? As a 'not as good' alternative, you can let FF remember all of your passwords and sync it with Google sync (which a lot of you do already). Which makes your google account your new G spot when it is working, but a new a-hole when it's compromised.
damn.. I'm more confused now than when I started writing this comment. - Realz, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1"OPEN" is In!
- pengas, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Lets assume it wont be hacked. It is only a matter of getting one password - your google account password, for someone to sync ALL of your passwords and take over your life. Another scenario. U have some guests and they want to you use your computer. You let them. They open FF and view your google password. You are F-ing F-ed. That password should be biometrically protected.
- thedo0od, on 01/18/2008, -2/+3Yes, because the one thing the web needs right now is all of your activity under a user name that can be cross referenced with a whole bunch of websites.
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1that comment and this comment were not needed
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1The day i move to canada
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1this person was joking.... why use yahoo anyways. there are many others that are better.
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1any single login will have security problems.
MS PASSPORT ANYONE? - adooga, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2What's Yahoo?
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -1/+1there are rules?!?!
Grow up. - Salviati, on 01/18/2008, -4/+4What in the heck is this reply supposed to mean? You copied my text from another post and used it in a context where it doesn't even make sense.
- roastedbagel, on 01/18/2008, -5/+5Umm...this exact story is on the front page two stories down...
- pyromanx, on 01/18/2008, -1/+1The yahoo openids are long. Check http://tinyid.us and shorten it. Since tinyid just redirects to your provider you can keep using yahoo or http://myopenid.com
- bowe, on 01/18/2008, -2/+1Um this is the original, the other is a dupe. Digg gets messed up when people don't follow the rules.
- cactus476, on 01/18/2008, -4/+3WTF's with the dup?
http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/8904/openidkx0. ... - Lazyboy0172, on 01/18/2008, -4/+3is this a joke? 2 stories apart? wtf..
- bennovw, on 01/18/2008, -3/+1The glitch is on Imageshack THIS quickly!?! Good God news spreads fast on the internet!
- crispytown, on 01/18/2008, -3/+1Please don't for security reasons.
- enjourni, on 01/18/2008, -4/+1I was a vicim of Identity Theft not too long ago and I'm telling you OpenID is a terrible idea. It may seem convenient, but all it takes is for that one password to be compromised and suddenly an attacker can access 1000 websites instead of just one. A much better solution is provided at www.supergenpass.com, which is what I use to make sure my website logins are secure.
- Cyrodox, on 01/18/2008, -4/+1USA - Implements OpenID to all citizens.
I see it coming. - bennovw, on 01/18/2008, -4/+1Anybody else notice that this story is on digg twice...?
- AdonalFoyle, on 01/18/2008, -8/+4I realize this post will probably make it to the Front page even though it was submitted hours after the initial story was posted. But if you're going to dupe, at least don't use the exact same title. Original: http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Yahoo_Implements_Ope ...
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -6/+0OpenID has more security holes than provolone cheese... this technology adds another useless layer of complexity and can be easily phished. This idea shouldn't be pursued.
- Haydio, on 01/18/2008, -9/+3http://digg.com/tech_news/Yahoo_Implements_OpenID_ ...
Bury this. - stunta1350, on 01/18/2008, -7/+1this is already on main page, buried
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -12/+5digg me down
