- karn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I really find Yahoo Answers useful. I've been able to get homework help lots of times on some really difficult problems that I get. It's the only Answer/Question community that I find myself wanting to give back and try and answer some questions.
- prot0col, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Not only is the description and title incoherent but totally wrong. The title should read something like "Answers.com rips off content from Yahoo! users without crediting them"
- chintal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5description and title are misrepresentative of the article itself. cant you atleast get the description right ???

I'm a happy Yahoo user. They had great free services like email, bookmarks, calendar, and address book when Google was still in it's diapers. They've always returned better search results for me as well. And their pay-per-click business is more open and honest than Google's. Yep. Call me a Yahoo fanboy. - wuori, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I care about Yahoo.
For a lot of us that have internet-related jobs, Yahoo has helped us more than we may ever know. In my 9 years growing with the internet, Yahoo has always been there. They have helped pave the way for many other internet businesses by helping traditional-businesses understand that the internet is the new way to make money. The first .com magazine I saw was from Yahoo, the first .com tv ad I saw was from Yahoo. The success stories from the mounting profits Yahoo was posting helped give many others the confidence to start and invest in internet-related ventures. Not to mention, Yahoo helped make silly names respectable and add a little bit of fun to an otherwise mediocre utility.
I admit that Google does have a better infrastructure, and smart code behind everything, but we shouldn't be so fast to bash Yahoo, as I think they have earned a well-deserved respect throughout the web community. I know this comment wasn't necessarily related to the article, and I'm sorry for that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have google as my homepage but only because I can have all the news widgets from several different sources (including digg, /., techdirt etc) with their top 5 or latest 5 articles listed to make it easy to check what's going on in the world without having to browse to each site.
And during my lunch break I can go to my "games" tab and play all the games I have thrown on there from my google page. - vemerge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was thinking the same thing.
- skored, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This article is from last Wednesday - it would be interesting to see an updated version taking into account how Google Answers just folded.
- christiancadeo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Uhh...I do. Call me what you want, but I used Flickr, Y! Maps, Y! Bookmarks so I guess I am a Y! fanboy. Although i am also a Goog Fanboy and a MSFT fanboy.
- itisme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm starting to wonder if the search engines are starting to see wikipedia as a bit of an issue for them. I already have wikipedia set as my home page soz google yahoo et al I just find more information useful there than most of the advert infested WWW...
- Spartacus911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think as time goes on, and the wikis start emerging with more and more credible people updating the information on them we will see a shift over to those types of sites.
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4What does that have to do anything? My IQ has dropped about 50 points just by reading your comment.
Anyhow, back on topic, the guy starts off by saying he works for Yedda a Yahoo! Answers competitor. To be accurate, it's not Yahoo! who is not crediting users, it's Answers.com. If you're going to point the finger, blame the correct people.
And yes, skored's comment is correct. This is severely outdated, due to Google's recent closure of Google Answers. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No. Wikipedia only appeals to a small set of people who like their information with a certain kind of spin.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1yahoo would say something along the lines of....
"We set the stage by providing Yahoo answers, the users were bound to come because we are Yahoo .........the premier portal of the internet"
something like that.... - procdaddy, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1The description makes me think of Germans saying "YA!" and...who cares about yahoo? :/

What is Digg?
