- obijohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Steve Wozniak: My favorite invention is the one that shows where to clip your dog's claws and not injure the dog."
I swear I did not just make that up. - oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Also, this story was kind of a letdown. I was hoping to see the inventions, not read about Woz and his segway. I can understand why they can't reveal that info though. Then nobody would watch the damned tv show.
- dereklam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The inventions are posted on the History Channel web site:

- jschrab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5To those who have not cared for dogs (as in "been responsible for them"), this sounds trivial but it's not. Dogs have blood vessels that go part way through their nails/claws. If you cut them too short they will bleed. And Fido will cry - it hurts! So this IS a nice little invention - I have to wonder if Woz owns dogs... He must.
- Jams, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I would rather read about the list of inventions than read about Woz giving out the award.
- mentholmoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's a pretty useful invention, though. He may have crudely said it, but for many dog-owners it can save a bunch of hassle with an invention like that.
- socbret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I bet Leo Laporte introduced Woz and gloated for 10 minutes about his rainbow lazer.
Sorry Leo - reduxthree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3From TFA:
"The Quick-See [the dog toenail thing Woz liked] uses paper with an adhesive backing and a thermo-chronic ink coating. You place the paper over the nail, and heat from the artery and nerve within the quick of the nail causes the paper to change color over the area of the nail that should not be cut." - jeffsters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gawd...I wish Woz would go back to his days of quiet respect. This last year, after all these years of just doing his own thing and living a quiet life, has suddenly ended up all over saying and doing some pretty wacky things! Not sure what got into him and why suddenly now he's decided to be so public, that's his business, but I'm finding myself embarrassed for him at times and at others just sad.
- geargirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The post uses "awarded" as a verb. It's correct.
- ra3ndy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't Woz be interviewed just ONCE this year without being asked about Segway Polo?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Why is everyone so quick to blow Steve Jobs while Woz gets ***** on for having an article wrote about him?
- trollenlord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No idea whether it will ever succeed or not. The idea is pretty good but I can not see how they could make it cheap enough. Perhaps Woz has got something up his sleeve there.
- trollenlord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Beats me. What people don't seem to understand is that Woz is genuine. All the way. He might babble incoherently and seem like some worthless relic from the past but he is actually still pretty smart and does what he likes. In the past he has done a lot of good charity and helped good projects. That's something he doesn't seem to be stopping any day soon. In the end he is in for the fun, not for the money. I'd say he has more balls than the guys commenting on this page combined.
- gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The wording was a bit misleading in this post ... Woz was not "awarded" the top prize , he gave the award for the top prize to someone...
- TRexALot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did Woz talk about his uber-successful company: Wheels of Zeus?? Hehehehehehe--------
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Well, for one thing, Jobs is still relevant in the computer industry. He's running Apple. Wozniak isn't. As noted by someone above, he surfaces every so often, babbles incoherantly about laser pointers and Segway scooters, makes a statement to get the press riled up, then fades away again.
Don't get me wrong, Job's gets too much praise, but at least he does something to deserve it. - oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Yeah, but its like the Oscars in Febuary are the 2006 Oscars I would assume.
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Exactly. Do we really need a "Best of 2006" when it's barely 1/3 over?
Shut up, Woz.
