- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Unfortunately it's not for music cds... sigh
- froinlaven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13It's called "cdcovers," yet it has no covers for CDs...
- nlsocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It did take them 6 years but the result is impressive and I love the thumbnail previews
- nandorocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8they used to have CD covers, A LOT of stuff... unfortunately they got a cease-and-desist a few years ago and complied. so now they're more like "everythingbutcdcovers"
- maestroh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6this is not that good of a site.. its riddled with ads too.. plus all the initial positive comments, theres definitely something suspect about this link
- bigfootmops, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Design by XMBC's ChokeManiac from Project Mayhem, I'm a big fan of his work.
- cgreenleaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3One of my most used bookmarks! Love the new search interface.
- JakobMetzger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3its XBMC but ya, he does some crazy stuff
- chipitople, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3??? i thought it was album covers--im confused
- countmandible, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2I think if you are going to design an AJAX interface...then the layout should fit in one vertical screen.
I clicked on a title after using the alphabet to get a list.
Nothing happened...well actually it did, I just didn't see it because it happened 'below the fold'.
There was a new list that appeared below the large square with 'Page 1, Page 2' etc.
Bad UI. - 4tygames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too low of quality to print these covers out. Most are 72 dpi.
Needs to be like 300 dpi for a good printout. - ipodwheels, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2a re-dugg thing. saw this before in here. anything new?
- Suits, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2crap. double post. oops
- 2keysmatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Are you serious Jaymoon? That site doesn't even compare. I've used cdcovers.cc for a while and this is a huge upgrade. But even before the update, it was better than albumart.org. Just my opinion.
- Rooker156, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The layout is so much easier to navigate the the old one. Looks really good.
- KnightCrawler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks better still needs work though as downloading a lot covers is a pain still and very slow.
- grendel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GETTING HEX ERRORS WHEN SELECTING COVERS///
- ploke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1same happens to me and I am using Camino
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is a great site, you can easily find what you want within a matter of seconds through a huge database.
- playedalive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1still a crap site, offering only low res rubbish that simply looks aweful when printed. Supprised people still use this site.
- hobnob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1all that nonsense and no link? are you ***** high?
- burnsides, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not painful? If I have to search for the covers manually its still painful... Just because is has a fancy new web2.0 interface does not make it a wonderful new tool. To make it not painful make it automated, like ampache, juk, amarok and itunes do.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3No CD covers... okay?
This sucks. buried. - kagayaki1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I completely agree with your design assessment - I find this just barely easier to use than the previous version.
I too say the lack of Safari compatibility is a real shame (I'm getting the redirecting behavior). I'm sure, though, if you write to them, they'll probably take a look. It is, after all, brand new. Cut 'em a little slack. - siteonspot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Totally agree with 2keysmatt
- a0me, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Checked the diggers' profiles to find obvious astroturfers and only found one with an account created today (cgreenleaf).
Doesn't change the fact that CDcovers have no CD covers at all. - clickwir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea, when you actually finally find something that comes up with a search result.... actually viewing the picture seems to be a chore. Select it, then scroll. Mouse over a few options, maybe they load maybe they are broken, click on one, only get one.
Here, lets make it simple. I search for something, you come up with a list of results. I click on one of the results and you show me all the pictures for that result.
This webpage could still use some UI work. - placidsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2much much easier now!
- mmmike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why is it telling me i should be using firefox.. when i AM using firefox?
- SadPanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Meh, the website could use a rename and some working links, currently you have to click the links given in the welcome post. Ill check back on it later though to see if they've worked everything out.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1same thing happens here on k-meleon (gecko engine with native win32 libraries)
- FourDoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been using cdcovers.cc for the past few years now. This new web layout/design makes searching for things so much easier.
It's a nice welcome change. - Snowcone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14tygames, I think we are both spoiled. It's funny that the title says "worlds largest". I wonder if we can post a story with the title of "Worlds best gaming cover archive". ;)
- GuyHitByTruck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Works fine on my Firefox. Could be a DNS error.
- Chasin_Fat_Kids, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2spam
- garraeth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I especially like the 50 ad's per page and "web search" affiliate program the got going. Great spam ideas!!
/sarcasm - iMatt711, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dont know about now, but that site used to have tons of spyware
- GuyHitByTruck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Could it be that the initial positive comments were from people who were well aware of the fact that the site has been around for many years and were already frequent visitors prior to this story?
..of course not.. - thedrx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dugg for AJAX
- cctoronto05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1pretty useless at this point... keeps going to homepage...
therefore, shoveled... - dog1pimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think it all depends on what your demands are. I can see from j(s) site that i did not see song titles but only front cover print outs. As for me i do not keep the case, i keep the song title cover and put it into my cd/dvd carrying case. Or i will go to Tower Records/Best Buy/etc to get titles then put them on cd label. My concern is to not take up so much space on unwanted areas of the house. I think this site is very good for dvd use.
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Are you serious Jaymoon? That site doesn't even compare. I've used cdcovers.cc for a while and this is a huge upgrade. But even before the update, it was better than albumart.org. Just my opinion."
Search for the Audio CD front cover of "Dark Side Of The Moon". It's not even there. I'm sorry, but if your album cover website doesn't have DSOTM (or any other CD covers for that matter), your website is crap.
:/ - dumpstergames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Their site design has the same sort of theme as megaupload.
At least it doesn't have the annoying beep when going over the flash in megaupload! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Annnnnnnnnd - no CD covers available. In fact, everything BUT actual CD covers. Buried as lame.
- GuyHitByTruck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Fetch art" is there, yes. "Always"? Not so much..
- hughesdo, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1I hate this site so much I started my own from the basement of my house using cable modem.
You know what it is ten time better than CDCOVERS
http://dink.no-ip.info/CoverSearch/ - Mechman37, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0O.M.G!! I can't believe the dribble I am reading!! There is no other site which has all this stuff. DVD covers & X-BOX covers I use all the time, no bad quality or low res, for those who are experiencing bad res etc check your printer settings and /or get a decent printer, I print on everyday use photo paper and get photo quality prints. EVERY TIME.
If there are bad prints or low res anywhere on this site then there is only one person to blame, the one who submitted it in the first place! You think you can do better?? Prove it and submit you own 'outstanding' quality print.
Just stop sooking.... - ukwebb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Note to people who say - this site is rubbish -
Where else can you get covers for psp games/dvds/pc's/xbox etc all in one place
and with the ease of this new site?
the supposedly fantastic albumart site doesn't have any game covers at all ? how is that so wonderful?
CDCOVERS were so successful with Cd covers that they were told by the legal people to stop !!! - That IS success
If you don't like CDCOVERS - its simple - don't go there and stop complaining - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this site is horrible...
- jkirk7msa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Damn this is a BIG improvement. I digg it.
