- jboitnott, on 01/07/2009, -1/+45Can't wait until TVs come in wallpaper version.
- AmyVernon, on 01/07/2009, -3/+47The wafer-thin TV: perfect for watching Monty Python.
- Aleman360, on 01/08/2009, -0/+32How to make the thinnest TV:
- Paint your wall white.
- Get a projector. What else are you going to do with your ceiling space? - DubBucket, on 01/08/2009, -2/+32Uhh.. they already sell Sony OLED TVs that are 3mm.. Maybe they count the stand too?

| - barryiggins, on 01/08/2009, -0/+29oh dear god... that man's hand is enormous!
- FightTest, on 01/08/2009, -1/+28I'm sick and tired of the media pushing super thin televisions on us. They're putting forward a really unhealthy image that a lot of more normal-sized televisions can't achieve. Scoff all you want but someday you're going to come home to find your television vomiting in the bathroom and it's not going to be so glamorous then.
- postal21, on 01/08/2009, -1/+21But the question is... How long until we have a youtube video of a wii-mote crashing through one?
- PHJames88, on 01/08/2009, -2/+19It's called a projector.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -1/+15I'm waiting for the spray paint version.
- nard3456, on 01/08/2009, -0/+14Worlds most fragile tv.
- blackwolfboy, on 01/08/2009, -0/+13Maybe it's just me, but somehow I really don't care if a TV is 10 mm or 1 mm.
- Khast, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10whatever, thin is fine and dandy....
I want a current generation TV that is just as durable as the old TVs...you know, something not designed to be replaced every 3-4 years.... - Nouman6, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8they put all the cables in the base or something?
- Sherman901, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9Through one side and out the other... in slow motion.
- KingofNightlife, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Still Waiting for someone to come out with affordable ones? I dont give a ***** if it is as thin as a piece of paper if the damn thing is 5 grand! When the battle starts for 50" flat screens under a grand then Ill digg it.
- Sarkoon, on 01/08/2009, -2/+10Title is wrong. This is the thinnest *LCD* TV.. but it is definitely not the thinnest TV overall. OLED TV sets take that crown, like the 3mm think Sony OLED mentioned earlier by another poster.
- Wolfie351, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9Yeah great...don't work on making them cheaper or anything
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9How many stuck pixels out of the box?
- WafflePirate, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7But that means no profit for money hungry CEO's and that makes them sad.
- tiltphoto, on 01/08/2009, -2/+9Better Pictures Anyone?
- zbeast, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6It's all about trying to keep the price point as high as they can as long as they can..
there really is no need for a thinner big screen... - groo68, on 01/08/2009, -2/+8If they can make it thinner than 6.5mm they could just use the extra space to reinforce it.
- jub0r, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7.26" THICK TV!!!! Surely this is the pinnacle of human achievement!
- Spoomeister, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5How long before paper is described as being "TV-thin"?
- mikasaur, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Yes, but will it blend!?
- tomweaver, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Probably - OLED is one of the formats that is used to make HD TVs (along with LCD and Plasma).
See: http://stage.soundandvisionmag.com/features/2732/d ... - inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4But can it run Crysis?
- bentrinh, on 01/08/2009, -1/+5Ceiling mounted projector.
- bangmalley, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4so the title should be "World thinnest LCD television unveiled"
- Skully321, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Thin.Schmin. When you get to a certain point of thickness (or thin-ness in this case), it becomes silly. I agree with FightTest- the CE industry and the media is trying to push this a non-feature of super-thin when we are kind of like.. "so what". Most people put their plasmas or LCD panels on those dumb tables or credenzas anyways. From the front view of these panels, there is no depth perception anyway- 6" depth could be 0.06" depth.
- pHr34kY, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Just having something plugged into the back of it requires a hell of a lot of space. You'll never get a flush wall mount unless you take a chunk out of the wall to embed the connections.
- amroyce, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Not sure if I am going to consider it.
- mystafreaze, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Seems the lifespan of LCD is short.. I wonder how long will OLED will last.
- malschla, on 01/08/2009, -1/+4Wow... I can't even begin to explain how much of that link is utter BS.
- scratend0788, on 01/08/2009, -1/+4yer but projectors are expesive, and much like printers they take the piss by having rediculously overpriced bulbs/ cartridges.
bot to mention that i dont think they have full hd projectors yet. - BxBoy, on 01/08/2009, -3/+6Brilliant, like anyone has the $$$ to buy it.
- klowngoblin, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2WTF 1080p projectors have been out for 3 years, the cheapest one being $1700
- jdryyz, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2That's what she said.
- Viper753, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2You can pick up last year's 50" Samsung plasma sets in 720p for less than $600. They have an awesome picture, but I've always liked plasma over lcd
- DRT23, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3imagine what?
- failedpimp, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3better get a bucket.
- godssonisme, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1LOL. Good one.
- dominator1989, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1... Well that was irrelevant...
- unclefire, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1Yeah, but you need darker rooms for projection TV's.
- dominator1989, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1(sarcastically) Oh, I see what you did there. You compared televisions to anorexic and bulimic people. Funny stuff...
I speak ironically as I actually did enjoy your comment. - MScrip, on 01/08/2009, -1/+2Too bad my DVR is still 11 inches thick.
- scratend0788, on 01/08/2009, -2/+3i was tinking that.
especially in the context of the hundreds of dollars you will pay extra just to loose those few milimeters. - secrity, on 01/08/2009, -1/+2I have one of those - it is a 36" Sony CRT that does 1080i and weighs as much as a motorcycle.
