- foxter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Imagine getting into a fender bender in one of these cars. I can't help but cringe at the thought.
- JoshuaWood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Mmmmm.... Saleen S7. If I ever hit one of those Mega stupendous 300+ million lotteries, I am so going to buy one of those, and build a racetrack for my driveway, and a moat to keep the unwashed masses away. Muhahahahahahahaha I guess it would help if I actually played the lottery though.
I'm not a fan of the Buttugli I mean Buggati, and for some reason I find the Porshe's dimmensions to be really ungainly. It might be one of those cars that looks better in person than photographed. - costoa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Imagine your kid sneaking off with your new Enzo (only 350 miles) and crashing it:
http://www.wreckedexotics.com/enzo/enzo_20040205_003.shtml - zatrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4obviously not you, those cars(Veyron anybody?), aren't exactly ordinary so what do you expect?
Rich people need some fun too you know...bastards - wadelindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Badass cars, but since this is a tech site:
Get with it forbes.com - that was a nasty slideshow. Redirecting every 5 seconds - and taking 3 seconds to load (without ads in firefox)? Lame. I didn't even have a chance to look for a button to slow it down.
Getting down off my soapbox... but overall, cool roundup of the most expensive production cars. - ph713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bah, if you win $300 million, just buy a something reasonably fast and nice for daily driving (say a Ford GT, or a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale), and then have one of the many companies you'll likely buy outright as part of your long-term investment strategy co-sponsor an indycar team, and work out a deal to have them let you play with their real race cars on a real race track from time to time.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Apparently money can buy you everything except a good looking car. The Maybach is the best one, and it's the cheapest.
- tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah, there is the Maybach on the list which is less than $440,000. Maybe you didn't see those?
- MrManFitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What?! No tumbler?
http://www.chickslovethecar.com/tumbler.asp - scsikool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I loved this quote out of the LA Times regarding the Veyron's "safety feature":
"Also, the quickest: The Veyron accelerates to 60 mph in 2.1 seconds, faster than a Formula 1 car, but then it's just getting started. In 20 seconds — about the time it takes a fast reader to get through this paragraph — it reaches 200 mph. In 53 mind-blowing seconds, the Veyron reaches its marquee speed: 253 mph.
At that speed, the tires would begin to soften in about half an hour. Fortunately, at top speed, it runs out of gas in 12 minutes. "It's a safety feature," Wolfgang Schreiber, the Veyron's chief engineer, says with a smile." - JoshuaWood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Even a inexepsive luxary car isn't necessarily too bad of an investment as far as new cars go. I bought a brand new IS back in 2003 for 27000, it was red and stick which I guess the dealer had a hard time moving off the lot. Just this year I had to sell it for a CRV, because I needed the hauling space while building my house. The dealer gave me 22k for it on the trade, and the CRV was 22.5k. So less than 5k of depreciation in almost 3 years and 35,000 miles. My first new car was a neon, and lost well over 70% of it's value and 90% of it's paint in the same timeframe.
- skydivingdutch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Mmmmmm Veyron....
- bristolz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Chosen with care these are not at all a waste of money as their value often increases dramatically and are fantastic investments.
- bikee4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Bugatti rules absolutely!!!!!!! Why consider anything else...money not being an issue that is.
- vertigoblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that's the spirit!
- sjk8990, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can't buy a 2006 Enzo.
- alphonse55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One of those Porsche GTs passed by me on my way home Saturday night. It is an absolutely beautiful car. It costs twice as much as my house though...
- soybomb_deep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Veyron is a work of art. Not sure about the Zonda though.
- mianos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually if you afford one you would nromally have it insured. The insurance costs a lot but it is all relative. The only thing that's not is fuel. The big sports cars use a lot of fuel but not in proportion to their cost in my experience. (Who had a 560SEC? :) which was the biggest guzzler I ever had).
- Yamanba, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A car is nothing unless it is in the hands of a expert driver. Money doesn't mean you deserve it, nor grant you the ability to take full advantage of it.
- animecrazy9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, the porsche definnitely looks better in real life. I thought it was ugly when I first saw it, then I went to Detroit and saw it from a foot away... *drools*
I got tons of photos of it, and other cars. I borrowed a friends digital rebel, so I went kinda overboard. - phlux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have seen one of the porche models driving around near Palo Alto on 280. Knew it was expensive - had no idea it was that much. Should have got the guy to rear end me >:] - Hes a slow driver...
- bchang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TOP GEAR ROCKS!
i hope they show the SSC Ultimate Aero on it. - Hubso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Bugatti looks like a two-tone slab with a coke can ringpull as a bonnet (hood). The SSC Ultimate Aero looks like an old Lamborghini diablo. There are much nicer looking cars for less money in my book (Ferraris, Astons, Audis etc)
- bristolz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A depreciating investment isn't an investment.
- EviLiu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The picture marked as #9. Porsche Carrera GT (slide 2 of 2) is a picture of a model car. As in... It's a foot long.
- Aztlan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here is another Ferrari Enzo that was totaled in a high-speed crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11646530/ - MasterDwarf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll take two of each.
- sjk8990, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Reading is hardly a requirement for the kids at Digg.
- vertigoblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1More Power!
- Linuxrocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Beutiful cars they're really quite amazing. Too bad I'll never get to drive any of them.
- tacom8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1word up cousin....
oh Veyron let me count the ways i love thee.... - podwich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you can afford one of these, you likely self-insure.
- mianos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The harsh part about owning a very exe car is lots of people such as friends want you to take them for a drive and then they open the door on the gutter. That's life. Even if you have lots of money and the repair bills are no biggie it still ***** me no end.
- sentai, on 09/06/2008, -0/+0http://www.fi7.info Nice work man
- rnelsonee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Bugatti has a HP gauge. The last tick mark is "1001". Sooo sexy.

http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/B/bugatti/03-large/05-veyron-power-gauge-det.jpg - bristolz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What is embarrassing about the Ford GT? I recently read a review (R&T?) ranking it second to the Carrera GT and ahead of the Murcielago and the MB SLR (which they really didn't like at all). They said that, for the money, it was easily the best car ever produced and that it was a delight to drive in every regard.
I know that I'd love to own one. - Yamanba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Would be cool, fastest American made car. Probably make up for the embarrassment of the Ford GT.
- cntp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1actually, the evo was driven by an old fat man....haha
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that porsche is awesome. every aspect of it is perfection. yeah it's no 1000+hp bugotti but its NATURALLY ASPIRATED and very light. you have the N/A for reliability but if you want a 1000hp car it's just a matter of adding boooost. :-D
- bristolz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Theree are no 2006 Enzos was the point. They were made for one year.
- v4r4n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rare automobiles that aren't driven but still taken care of don't go down in value. Think of it as a piece of art.
- Saint3k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah, so what about the worlds most inexpensive cars? Some of us are on a budget, after all.
- rudolphdude, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I bought a Lambo Marceliago not long ago and looked at myself in the mirror in my home-built, twelve-car garage whilst jerking off naked screaming "momma mia you are a beautiful stallion!, mmmmmmmmmm hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!".
Yeah, I got about 70% return on that investment. Better than my Miata. - HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1With a budget price you get budget performance.
Isn't that what it's all about? - andr3y, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0...so accodring to www.fobes.com Ferrari Enzo is too cheap??????? this list is biased!!!
- andr3y, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0you cant buy Bugatti eather and its on the list, what your point? this doesnt make it cheap. its more like Ferrari didnt pay up for the listing in this list
BIASED!!!! - Yamanba, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I believe they showed an example of this on Top Gear a while back of an Mitsubishi Evo VIII overtaking a Lamborghini Murcielago, both in the hands of professional drivers.
- hadem, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6What a waste of ***** money!
- kunit, on 10/12/2007, -13/+0Who the ***** is gonna have this kind of money to buy those cars? maybe if you steal some money or save up and pick up lose change here and there, just pick up 5 bucks at a time, and by the time ur age 50 you'll be able to buy the car, which would probably be like on sale or something, I know that this is off topic and I don't care
