- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -5/+139OK, this is retarded. Why did I have to go through two separate pages to get to the actual site?
Direct link.
http://www.videohybrid.com/ - vinnyvenus, on 10/10/2007, -4/+100Common sense dictate that more attention a piracy site get the faster it will taken down.
So lets bury this story - EmperorAnton, on 10/10/2007, -3/+55the things high school students can do these days truly baffle me.
- bakkouz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+49If the MPAA could reach the piratebay and influence the swedish police to raid the piratebay HQ, I think they can pretty much reach two teenagers from Lynbrook High School in San Jose.
- uselessexpert, on 10/10/2007, -0/+38It made the front page on Digg... They're screwed now!
- Evildudetx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+35News at 6: Two idiots in California arrested.........
- brstilson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24yeah! and now they can do stuff on....COMPUTERS!!!
That's quite an improvement. - Meep3D, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23If more people started doing that, the web would be a better place.
Do you have any idea of how aggravating it is to have to spend hours upon hours trying to get websites that are technically 100% correct working in IE due to it's appallingly bad rendering engine? And how much it's total lack of support and failed implementation of features makes them unusable and as a result has probably set the web back several years. It deserves to be shunned. - earthceltic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22blogspam blogspam blogspam blogspam...
- brstilson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19and not having sex
- sdcarter, on 10/10/2007, -8/+23seriously! when I was in high school all we did was drink booze, smoke weed, have sex, and go to the mall...
- Sabin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15The go to stage6.divx.com and watch the video on joox direct from the source. Stage6 is what all video sharing sites should be like.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20Pirate Bay ***** on your comment
- dynamitehacker, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Well, they have a digg this story link on their front page, so apparently they don't mind.
- mtalon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Sensational? Check. Advertisement instead of news? Check. Poorly put together headline? Check. Link to blog instead of site? Check. Site annihilated by digg effect? Check.
Complete bill of failing. Buried. - swazo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Id much rather wait for the Pirate Bay to unleash their video site. It stand 100x better of a chance than two teenagers.
- neoknight, on 10/10/2007, -8/+18@Titan1x77
It's actually been up for quite a few months now. But then again you never know now...
http://www.videohybrid.com - morphie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9So long and thanks for all the fish...
- KMye, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Seriously, don't bury vin for saying that; I was going to write the same thing; everyone who's dugg this should undigg and bury, and then spread the word through comments and other word of mouth. If this frontpages, it will be worthless in one sense or another pretty quickly, and then no one wins...
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Sometimes its just easier to watch something "on demand" when you feel like it than it is to download a torrent, hope for a good number of seeds and wait for it to arrive in full.
Also, if the hosted show or movie they link to is on DivX, you can just save the clip to your computer at the end. - 30h193ool28t21, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13who needs this when we have torrents?
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6IANC
(Initialisms are not cool) - bakkouz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8DailyMotion used to be like that, now its all gone. this will soon follow no doubt.
- archlich, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Luckily, you've never been to an AOL chat room.
- spearce, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9tv-links.co.uk ***** on your comment as well.
- Ngai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5seems like it couldn't handle the digg effect...
idiot idea anyways... - Ngai, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6blogs are like the commercials...
sometimes entertaining.. but never really needed... - LegendOfLink, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Buried for being retarded sensationalism that, of course, came from TechCrunch.
- Durrok, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Can anyone please tell me how the ***** to get videos off the main page? I don't give a damn about them and it won't let me uncheck all the video categories.
*Shakes fist at digg* - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4is your 's' key broken?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6***** slow..
- rejoined, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Click 'Customize', and instead of 'All', make 'News' as your homepage.
That's what I did to get rid of the videos off the front page. - bioskope, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Just curious guys. But why is this making big news?
This is just the same as posting a bunch of links. We all know that flies under the radar. How is this any different from Alluc or tvlinks? I dont think this is newsworthy except for the fact that they seem to have gotten the 'social' part of such a site right on with the whole requests schtick and also that their movie selection is much better than most sites' ... Ooooooh Pitch Black - fisticuffs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4If it was below the radar until now, digging it surely ruined that. Way to go...
- ardnut, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3go to manage your profile and set News as your homepage
- ani625, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5yet another "viral".. nothin more
- GreyICE, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4And, by the way, it doesn't force firefox on you. There's quite a few standards compliant browsers - Opera and Safari, to name two. Want more?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers
There's only one browser that blatantly laughs at standards, and forces special coding to make HTML work - IE. Its so bad that when Microsoft was making IE 7 they had to make it non-standards compliant because it wouldn't properly render their own pages (that's how many jury rigs people use for IE 6). - TaylorTAP, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4No, but I got a copy if you need one.
- NJPENSO, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Let's leave joox out of this please.
- afzilla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://www.tv-links.co.uk/
linked - the2000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3The thing is, the site not hosting any videos at all. They are just searching through thousands of video hosting sites and link them for the viewers. This is actually helping out feds to track down sites that hosts copyrighted videos.
- PiMPSP, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The site is just pulling in videos from other sites and reverse ip lookup shows most of the videos are being hosted on asian servers.
- rhett803, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What the hell? www.alluc.org has been doing this forever. If it's not posted on their main site check the forum and they'll find it for you.
- shavenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2its up but running slow as hell.. i guess they weren't ready for the digg effect
- yahoofrom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2they should move to Sweden ASAP
- Stevethegreat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It should be renamed to videohybris
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2why do you care? you don't even comment on the right stories!
- mbthompson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"Something this good (from a user perspective, not a legal one) just can’t last."
He was right, we already crashed the damn thing. - lcmatt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Download codec? Ever tried using VLC?
VideoHybrid also supplies the links to the FLV which can be played in VLC by opening up network stream> Paste URL into the http box. - bigrodey77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Anyone notice that at the bottom, "faqs" looks like "fags?" Or is that just me....
