- dragonmantank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34Yeah, how dare they ask for money to help cover costs of a great service that they give out for free!
Wait... - tim507, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31everybody that donated should get their name on a page. not just the 1,000,000$ breaker.
- CurToast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28The money is actually being used to hire professional arbitrators for major disputes, like whether "Anakin Skywalker" and "Darth Vader" should have separate articles or not.
Finally, the madness can end. - toddomatic, on 05/20/2008, -0/+23Digg REALLY REALLY needs a way for typos to be edited, by either a moderator or by the community in some way. It's embarrassing to the Digg community and as a species that these typos make it to the front page.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21i don't know who i'd rather donate to, wikipedia or thepiratebay

You know you're a geek when you open an envelope and it's a christmas card... From Wikipedia.

Wikipedia has reached its 1 Million dollar donation! - TNHitokiri, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11highest donation was $286,800.. (thats 28.68% of a million dollars)
- w3stfa11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+51 million dollars by people like you. This is the reason why 'you' are the person of the year. Kudos to you!
- ravedave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It already is an MMORPG! Experience points? edits. Gods? Jimbo. Demigods? Admins. Villans? Trolls. Equipment? Barnstars. Battles? Read a few talk pages :) etc etc etc.
- trickyNik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wikipedia needs the money to host all the mountains of information it serves out. Wikipedia is becoming a resource used more and more by myself, and really everyone I know. Wikipedia, and all the users who contribute to it and maintain it deserve much appriciation for their hard work.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wikipedia is non profit. They don't have ads, or anything like that on their site. They make no money whatsoever out of wikipedia, and the donations are tax deductible.
- Rezzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6OP must have been in such a rush to submit that he didn't read the title...two grammatical errors.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2517/
I've been using this Firefox extension a lot lately. It's really helped me realize how great Wikipedia is. - superKduper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Wikipedia has reach it's 1 Million dollar donation!"
But, sadly, WikiGrammar and WikiSpelling have yet to collect a dime. - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Buy lots of beer and throw together a huge party! With hookers! Actually, forget the party!
- intent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Maybe they can use some of that money to educate the masses on basic English grammar.
- tippmann1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5better yet, look it up on wikipedia.
- DarthFredd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ahahaha...wikipedia is happy hitting just a million dollars, and those sealand folk want to get 800 million? I envision about 800 articles spanning the next thirty years..
Sealand gets first million!
Sealand gets second million!
Sealand gets third million!
..
Sealand gets six hundredth thirty-eighth million! - minime283, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3improper use of the word "it's" should be "its"
- ph3rny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3not only reading about It's but reading about verbs in the past tense (reach -> reached)
- Santabot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and on Wikipedia's 6th birthday, too!
- Seth024, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Thanks to all people who donated. I've used Wikipedia a lot and I'm happy they were able to collect a million for extra servers, bandwith and stuff
- BristolMyLove, on 12/21/2008, -0/+3Wikipedia is a non-profit organization. The guy who runs it is not making money from these donations.
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm surprised it only takes one million dollars to run Wikipedia for a year.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Those wiki guys are really efficient, it only takes 1 million dollar to run it for a year? I'm surprised, 1 million is pocket change. Most CEOs today makes hundreds of million per year.
- TheYellowMole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have make a digg comment.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Don't you mean they reached it?
- opiniastrous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hello again junkmail...
Nice try, but I'm not falling for it. For a start, we all know the junkmail02 suspected of being anicejew has been around a lot longer than one day (whilst junkmaii 02 hasn't), and we know for sure that he's commented a lot of times (because they've been widely dugg down). Funnily enough, Junkmaii 02 hasn't actually commented on anything at all. Even stranger than that, you seem to have all the same friends as the (anicejew?) junkmail02, and having tracked back through your comments, said exactly the same things at exactly the same times.
For instance, here:

- dubbleosix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Wikipedia has reach it's 1 Million dollar donation"
@homerj14 , For crimes against grammar, you are hereby sentenced to hang by your participle until you are no longer gerund. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2maybe they'll do a wikipedia mmorpg with the money.
- ozdale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wikipedia would make one million dollars in a week if they used online advertising. This is a rare example of a site that hasn't sold out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@curtoast...
that dispute is retarded... we need more info on who shot first damnit! - 3dom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not only do you have to account for the entirity of every current page on wikipedias servers: you have to remember that every copy of every edit of every page is kept forever. We're talking muchos terabytos here
