http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordanhill_railway_station - mojaam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So let me get this straight, Wikipedia reaches 1,000,000 articles a day after reaching 1,000,000 Registered Users? Coincidence?
http://digg.com/links/English_Wikipedia_has_over_1_Million_Registered_Users - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's 1337!

I caught it at exactly the right time! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What If someone goes in and deletes a few entries?
- quasipalm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This should say the English Wikipedia has 1,000,000 articles. Wikipedia overall has had over a million for a long time.
- distortedlojik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I apologize for the crappy link...here is the one that was meant to be used.
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Press_releases/English_Wikipedia_Publishes_Millionth_Article - Woknblues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0big digg+ from me. I use wiki all the time. I edit/contribute/discuss a few pet projects, too. It's fun, and I always learn stuff. I think Wiki is a great thing, if used correctly. I always look a the discussion page before using info and double check other "info" sites. I have not failed to get less than 100% on all my organic chem assignments. Thanks Wiki, and congrats.
- the1casey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ditto, I think this is one almost everybody can agree on. I use Wikipedia daily. Bigg Digg here...
- mooseman089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was doing a project and almost exclusivly used wikipedia and I remember asking myself how long before they hit 1 million
- daguuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awsome, now to get uncyclopedia.org to a million...
-> daguuys.tk - jupo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sometimes it can be quicker to find general facts on Wikipedia than the likes of Google et al.
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what danielwsmithee said.
Digg+ - jtibble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A funny coincidence seeing as I just put Wikipedia on my iPod yesterday...
- ArchAngel21x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So? If you can prove to me that QUALITY of every Wikipedia article is high then that is far important than the quantity of articles they have.
- tawker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Well, the big number was first a real real stub but that was the fastest I've ever seen a stub fixed up. On the other hand, I broke 60,000 edits today, yea! ~~~~
- pheonix2og, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yay. Now only if Professor's will accept Wikipedia articles as sources.....
(Also would be great for people to write more than two lines on some of the articles :) - Profiler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wooo.
http://www.volumedown.net/1-million-things/ - Kamikid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I find wikipedia to be pretty reliable.
- dv8withn8, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Too bad Wikipedia is about as reliable as a Ford Pinto.
- autumntial, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wikipedia is a outstanding site, DIGG!
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Congratulations Wikipedia, one of the few promises of the web that has been kept :)
- DrEbola, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wikipedia is about as reliable as Encyclopedia Britannica.
- fixedndilated, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0nice what an internet community can do - i like it
- thicke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How many iPods did the article writer win?
- saads, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A year ago they were at less than 500,000 - so more than half a million new articles in one year. That averages to about one new article per minute!
http://web.archive.org/web/20050301090046/http://wikipedia.org/ - tylerni7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0lol This was posted at least 10 times... just had to wait for the one that would make the front page... I was sitting there just waiting to post the millionth article but I was off by around 20. *sigh* Oh well Wikipedia Rocks!!!
- Woknblues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0heh. should read "I have not received less than 100%", not what I wrote. OOps. (wish I could edit that out!!)
- zafner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I wonder if that includes the entry for "quailtard".
- cheezitbum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I think this is great! Wikipedia is a great resourcse for everyone. It is reliable and accurate. I hope it continues to grow and be more popular.
- danielwsmithee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wikipedia Rules +digg
- miaow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0you can always use encarta on msn search to double check
wikipedia is easy to manipulate but tthe filtering will continue to get better. for subjects like politics, they may need to make 2 pages for a story. one giving one side, the other giving the other point of view. - juanbobo808, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Nice. Wikipedia, live on!
+digg - miaow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0if wikipedia gave lots more good links for each article, i would likely use it before trying the search engines.
- lavawalker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Right, on Mr. Wikipedia Sir.
- jgclark123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow, this is one story that Slashdot beat Digg to. That's pretty rare.
Anyway, Wikipedia is a great site, and we're sure to see 2,000,000 articles someday soon.
digg++ - soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Awesome.
- en3r0, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0That's good to see information gathering at its finest!
