- Sneakeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They used a HUGE satelite dish, you could do it yourself.
- spid3rfly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think this type of technology is inevitable. It's only a matter of time before this type stuff becomes widespread and common.
- TetrisKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Will this ever get to the average consumer? The FCC fears this because it would make Radio (both standard and satellite) obsolete.
- saucedah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0really cool i wish this kind of stuff will be available to the public
- Sneakeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this kind of stuff blows my mind.
- Anth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Las Vegas to St. George? Last I checked, there were some terrain problems that would make me think it couldnt happen. Oh well, I'd be interested to see how they did it.
- XMORDECAIX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If only this were out to the public.... :X

- Anth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What part of Utah is fairly flat? Its a rocky mountain state for crying out loud.
Anyway, I fired up google earth and there is a set of hills that are 2000' above the average terrain level near St George, it wouldnt surprise me if they used that as one of the end points. On the LV side, they might have used Apex... hmmm.. very interesting.. - mojaam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's how far my university is from my house!
- acidone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would also like to know how this was done.
- bonlebon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0boy at this pace the curvature of earth will be the only constraint :).
- funderbolt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is unwieldy because of the huge antenna. This might be a solution for some people, but not for most. It is a real challenge to point two directional antennas at one another.
Terrain is a huge factor in the ability use Wifi in this capacity. (Utah is fairly flat.) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thanks for finding more info codehippo
- rewritable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YAY once this becomes mainstream I can move out of the god awful city and back to boonies where I belong!
- codehippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The team's official webpage has the news and more info.
