- Grassmunk, on 11/19/2008, -0/+10Why is this Writeup Written Like A Movie Title?
Seriously, who writes a sentence like that. - neo991lb, on 11/19/2008, -2/+11What is this Yahoo! of which you speak?
- footface, on 11/19/2008, -2/+10whats a yahoo
- artsike, on 11/19/2008, -5/+12"Why Yahoo Still Matters for You"
It doesn't. - EggAndMuffin, on 11/19/2008, -2/+7Yahoo is so 90s
- Kragnerac, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Delicious
- Goochman, on 11/19/2008, -1/+6Where am I going to setup my junk email accounts without Yahoo?
- mediaspree, on 11/19/2008, -2/+6I've been to yahoo, flickr, delicious, et al maybe 1000 times in the past year. Never have I clicked an ad or bought a product advertised. How do they make money?
- clone4crw, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3It's nice to be able to create a disposable email account without already needing an email address.
- expatcatalyst, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3Thank You, it had to be said!
- clone4crw, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3Yes, it does.
- diemunkiesdie, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3You don't have to click on an ad. It's like watching tv, you see a commercial for a car and now you are aware of the car (previously you were not). On the Yahoo front page they have an ad in the middle of the page with a picture of the car and a note about the financing. You've seen it, it had an effect. Same thing as a car commercial, but with the Yahoo! ad, you can click on it and they can give you even more information/advertising. Either way, you've seen an ad and that was their goal. You never have to click on the ad for them to show it to you!
- thejokker, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3yahoo needs to have a focus, thats been its biggest problem. it has bought other web sites, never figured out how to combine them into one yahoo experience. It still has one of the largest sports page audience, news page audience, photo site audience, so it has traffic. I think someone needs to step in there and say "what are we about? how can we make this all work together, and where does the money come from?"
You know more people viewed yahoo news' election coverage than any other news site? Unlike other dead search sites, yahoo still has viable assets that dont rely on the company's search. Its more than a web portal and more than a search engine. It just needs to define exactly what it is that makes it money. - inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3meh
- anagoge, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3"It may not get much traffic"
Umm... - sugarkang, on 11/19/2008, -2/+5stop lying.
- TexasShiv, on 11/19/2008, -2/+5Because it's my homepage and has been for years. I refuse to change!
Get off my yard, damn kids! - benologist, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Not to mention they also own a lot of other hugely popular sites.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+5It Don't
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2I still use Yahoo to check movie times, and lately I've been checking it every day to see how much the Dow fell.
- prossi10, on 11/19/2008, -4/+6I still use Yahoo Finance. Its a little more robust then gFinance, easier to get historical prices, dividends and things like for importing into spreadsheets.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+4I'd hit it.
- Sylenus, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2msn

- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+4Who likes the thumbnail?
- Wrangler76, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1According to Alexa web rankings, it gets more traffic world-wide. In the USA, it's "only" #2 in traffic.
- paradigmxx, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Yes. In comparison to Google - "as much" traffic.
- leerayIG88, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1buried FTW
- drifter, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1The same can be said for google. I am sure there are many that do not buy the products.
Internet advertising is so big, yet really doesnt yield a great deal of profit for companies. - expatcatalyst, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Bravo!
- kabifff, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Does size necessitate capitalization of each word in an article summary?
- MarkusDee, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1Ah, the old "marketing doesn't work on me."
- Derrekito, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Still? Quite honestly, I don't believe they ever did. I cannot recall ever using their service - and if so, certainly not by choice.
- MarkusDee, on 11/19/2008, -1/+2All my fantasy sports records are on yahoo. So, yes, it still matters to me.
- scoottie, on 11/19/2008, -2/+2free fantasy sports
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+1Yahoo is the website I use the most. There main page is great for news and articles, yahoo answers is great finding solutions to a quick problem, yahoo movies is amazing ( just used it to buy movie tickets) yahoo finance isthe most in depth finance page I can find on the net, but yah the search sucks. Anyway the point is yahoo really matters to me.
- JasonMaloney101, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1Seriously, who asks a question with a question mark.
- ButterLoyalist, on 11/19/2008, -5/+4Yahoo doesn't matter to me they can go die.

Good riddance.. both suck. - paradigmxx, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1It may not get as much traffic, but it's still cheaper than AdWords. I love Yahoo.
- smoothmann, on 11/19/2008, -4/+2Yahoo Messenger FTW
Yahoo Fantasy Football FTW - Autodidaddict, on 11/18/2008, -6/+4So Chrysler highly values advertising on Yahoo, eh?
Should I take all my advertising and marketing advice from a company doing so well fiscally? - jeepsterboy, on 11/19/2008, -2/+1exactly... and who doesn't walk around yodelling "yaaahooooooo" - still one up on self promotion over google
