readwriteweb.com — If there's one thing to be learned from social media tools, it's that these services were not made to interact with one another. Complaints are rolling in and heated discussions are taking place about the noise levels within social media platforms.

  • retr0grade, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2Filtering is already here, in the sense that people just don't use systems that suck because the signal:noise ratio is too low. No myspace, no facebook, no google chat, no reddit or mixx or picasa for me. Stumbleupon is great. The comments at youtube are ENTIRELY worthless. I don't even know what half of those icons up there are supposed to be- and I don't care.

    I've been a slashot member for 10 years now... and they STILL have one of the best comment-filter systems in use anywhere.
