Including those without computer/internet access? - CasinoJack, on 12/02/2008, -1/+51ESPECIALLY those without internet access.
- ATLiens, on 12/02/2008, -0/+34I'm more worried about the ridiculous "Someone just threw a snowball at you!!!! Do you want to throw one back?!" spamming my news feed than Facebook Connect.
- ExplosiveDonut, on 12/02/2008, -0/+20"If it sustains that improbable pace, it will encompass the entire world's population by 2012"
Another sign pointing to 2012 being the end of time. DAMN YOU FACEBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - digmystuff, on 12/02/2008, -3/+22Facebook is slowly transitioning into the new myspace. I only say this because I tried looking up some school buddies yesterday (something that used to be quick and easy on FB) and instead was faced with 7 pages of non-college members, none of which were the people I was trying to find.
- jotate, on 12/02/2008, -1/+20Don't forget all the extra accounts you have to register in order to stalk people.
- nobelief, on 12/02/2008, -2/+19learn how to search
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -14/+29I, for one, welcome our new Facebook overlords.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+12I totally friended the log on Mars.
- doshindude, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10More business for adblock plus then.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10More ads for dating, weight loss, and free *****. Bring it! My ABP is hungry!

- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -1/+8Facebook wants to raid your butt.
- playuhh, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6Delete all ***** apps and block them if another request comes; pretty easy. Keep your wall uncluttered by blocking certain things or saying you "want to hear less about this person" and setting your News-feed to not display things you don't want to see/hear about! Uncluttered facebook is still pretty damn good... the new version also helps you avoid some of the ***** on other people's pages... It's really not all that bad.
- tonicboy, on 12/02/2008, -1/+71) Application invites will never show up in your News Feed
2) Every time an unwanted application sends you an invite, block it. After a couple weeks, invites will dwindle to nothing
3) If some idiot keeps spamming you with invites, time to stop being his friend - natenovs, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6@nobelief and herbiehancock00 his point is, like myspace, the search is getting more and more useless and people spam the site with fake profiles. what's the point of a social network if you can't find anybody on it.
- Dalhectar, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6I see some potential, but doesn't Facebook already do all this stuff. I mean my blogspot blog gets imported automatically, twitter updates my status, public picasa web albums get shared... Even my digged stories get posted. What's new here?
- bob_the_alien, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5I would be willing to try this thing you call the "outside", but after experimenting with the idea some years ago, I found the "outside" to be a very primitive and violent place, with very large ape like creatures, in brightly colored tunics with letters on them, that kept giving me what they referred to as "Swirlie". It was not an enjoyable experience I can tell you. However, I would be willing to tempt this again, but I shall have to deliberate in my basement on the matter for a few months, to come up with proper ape like creature protective gear. I will get back with you later, on the results of my new experiment.
- MeatyMcBeef, on 12/02/2008, -2/+7You actually passed your internet license exam?
- Icyfenix, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4right, but when you're looking at the citytown university group, it shouldn't have people who didn't go to citytown university!!!
- guregu, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4You have to send a friend request to them first. Once they accept it, you will be able to click on their profile to see all of the info/pics and their news items will post to your wall.
- herbiehancock00, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5There are other Joe Sixpack's that exist besides that one from your school ya know?
- iloveobama, on 12/02/2008, -2/+6The government should control all means of production and distribute resources to all of us equally. Meanwhile, we will all work while receiving these equal rations and providing for the Greater Common Good. This way no one can work for their own selfish gain. This idea is very Progressive⢠and promotes equality.
- staticfire, on 12/02/2008, -5/+9I, for one, do not welcome our new Facebook overlords.
***** OFF - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4The light... it burns.
- razmig, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3I am getting ***** sick of that stupid statement.
perhaps I should go outside and yell across the united states to my friends in college elsewhere?
or maybe I can call them simply to tell them to check out an interesting news article or funny video?
yes, living through facebook/myspace is a little much, but honestly shut the ***** up. - Phocion55, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3I'm sure they'd find a way to make money off of it.
- tjen2010, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3That's how Facebook is making money to continue to sustain and maintain growing larger and larger. Unfortunately they had to sell their souls to the spam ad companies to do it.
- bjarki, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Only 20% of the world has access to the Internet. So good luck facebook :)
- i4ybrid, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3When can I get facebook spamming my RSS feeds with important bits of info like "Five of your friends have been tagged in this photo album "Party!! woOoOoH" at an event you weren't invited to on facebook because you don't post on their walls enough."
- bob_the_alien, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4HOLY *****
- uptwolait, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3As foretold by the Aztecs.
- browe07, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Facebook is the end of the world.
- tgc1, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2***** thing sucks.
- SirChasm, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2I tried out the Digg Connect thing yesterday, and it quickly spammed my profile with all the diggs I do on a daily basis so much that my friends complained about all those coming up in their newfeeds. No more Digg Connect for me.
- elrac, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Someone has to friend you before you can see the rest of their information. You will notice that you have a profile that has a bit of information about yourself in it (if you filled it out), when you friend someone else they can see that information about you.
- viperbball, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2As they grow bigger, privacy concerns regarding Facebook will come into play. They are already known for tracking and using a persons information, where does it go from here?
- MeatyMcBeef, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2How do you propose funding the Greater Common Good?
- KingGorilla, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2you could say that about a lot of things.
- Canuck, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2If you are trying to get in touch with old school mates that you haven't talked/emailed/IM'd/texted in years how do you know there e-mail?
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2I make enough money working. I don't need to waste time making money an ad services.
- digmystuff, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Hmm and if I only have a name and no email?
- nobelief, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3not everyone went to college or hasn't gone to college, hence "7 pages of non-college members"
- sremick, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3Maybe if they ever create a way to prevent 100s of stupid applications from spamming my newsfeed, I'll start caring about Facebook again. At the moment, it's virtually useless.
I block application invites from each new application as they come in, but for every 1 I block, 10 more new ones spring up tomorrow. There's no way to block ALL application invites. And blocking them doesn't do anything for the news feed pollution. - akatsuki, on 12/02/2008, -3/+5Well, I for one, have fatigue. Most of the changes after the news feed have been for the worse and it is quickly becoming just like MySpace - they had so much crap that they had to redesign the site to stick it onto another page.
Frankly I prefer the minimalism of twitter. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Isin't this what the whites did with crack cocaine to the blacks?
- SSUK, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Oh ho ho, how political of you.
- MeatyMcBeef, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1That's been tried before. Shortages and surpluses of goods appear after a short while. Government can never keep up with changes in supply and demand.
Also what if employee A works more than employee B? Don't they deserve to be rewarded for working harder? Or what if Employee A slacks off? Shouldn't there be consequences for that?
Within reason(excluding those who physically and mentally cannot) everyone should have the same opportunity for success. What they receive however is up to how hard they decide to work.
I'm no flaming conservative, just a realist. The reason I attend school for business is to raise the funds to help people have the same level of opportunity no matter where they are born or what color their skin is. I could care less about being wealthy personally.
My concern comes when people want to take money from people who earned it and give it unconditionally to those who haven't. Propping up the poor by taking resources from the wealthy does not work. However allocating resources wisely into education(not just money, research into better education, a project I'm organizing at my college) will allow people to reach their potential and they can raise their standard of living on their own which is far more rewarding to the person and far more socially sustainable. -
