Why Circuit City Rebates Suck!

rebatetrack.com — The link is not an article, but to the tracking information for a rebate for a Nvidia card I recently purchased at Circuit City. The reason for the denial of the rebate is "Invalid Purchase Location." How is this possible? It was a C.C. and the rebate form came right off their registers. I call *****. Buyer beware.

    What a load of crap, just call them up and bug them to death about it. It may not seem like it's worth the trouble for $20, but that's pretty much what they are counting on... People to get so worn out over $20, they just say "Bah, forget it".
  • mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's unfortunate this didn't make the front page, I think it's something everyone should be wary of. Rebates are seldom reliable, unfortunately for the OP, this is how you find out the hard way.

    I would have been in contact with them immediately with a call, but they have a problem with words like "immediately" in conjunction with the word "contact" - the sign of great customer service.
  • aprigliano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know I am commenting 23 days after the fact but if anybody runs into this I want them to know that after filing an online complaint - they did relent.

    "Your rebate is valid. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate. "

    Generally - I am still annoyed.
