- zvoidx, on 10/20/2009, -4/+11STFU about this one website already!
- cigawoot, on 10/20/2009, -1/+7Probably because you were a Juror, and therefore are required to keep your mouth shut. People watching a trial are different then a juror in a trial.
- L0NER, on 10/20/2009, -0/+4because courtrooms have been destroyed by email, live video, and the telegraph
- borez, on 10/20/2009, -0/+4How about a Twitter jury... or even better how about a Digg jury, you know, we could have a live feed on murder cases, an infographic on the charges, a couple of web cartoons thrown in depicting the moral standpoint and get Yahtzee to do a running commentary. We could digg up or down whether we think the guy should go to the chair. It'd be ***** awesome, like in the Roman times, thums up yay, down nay. The comments would be well ***** Lol.
/what the ***** is the world coming to? - lovemorgul, on 10/20/2009, -3/+6Wow this is a serious problem
- forcedfx, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3Bravo. Love the use of the word eated. Would buy from again.

n00blet: Cheetos suck. 0 diggs - Czechxican, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3Lots of places where this could go wrong, like leaking of minor's information, name, or info about rape victims. Still, it's not like someone couldn't do this clandestinely anyways with their iphone in their lap and the case by case is pretty useful in monitoring this kinda stuff anyway.
- Shiner6, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2So if Twitter is allowed, does that mean Facebook is allowed?
- CheesyPoofs, on 10/20/2009, -1/+3I really could give a ***** less about what everyone is doing every second of their lives. digg me down.
- veriix, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2A picture is worth 38 tweets, assuming the average word is 4 characters.
- waydee, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2What's Twitter?
- borez, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2Can you imagine.
Actually... can you imagine the servers needed to handle the traffic. - jrm125, on 10/20/2009, -1/+3How about twitpics?
- Super6, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1I see now reason why every trial isn't streamed on the web, it seems like a public right to know because every trial can set a precedent.
- forcedfx, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1So... what color are you?
- palehorse864, on 10/20/2009, -2/+3I'm pretty sure you won't see this in the U.S. for quite a while. I received a summons for jury duty, and though I wasn't selected for an actual trial, they emphasized very heavily to not even discuss anything once the trial started, even in the hallways of the court building. (That went without saying, but I"m holding to their emphasis)
We should probably have less pretrial information leaking out in high profile cases as most of the Jury pool has seen various commentators like Nancy Grace on TV before even being called up for jury duty. - inactive, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1We still need cameras.
Why should every other amendment evolve with technology (i.e. 2nd amendment covers new guns, 4th covers wiretapping) but the 6th amendment can't mean letting cameras in the court room. - debaser7673, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1i still want to see someone tweet while getting a dui. "***** just failed line test" "tryin to tweet while in handcuffs" "just puked in cop car"
- theghostofme, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1God, I would ***** hate to be that stenographer, and I would hate following that stenographer.
- Midtowner, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1Reading the article, this is no big deal.. so judges in Australia are able to do what they've always done. Choose to allow or restrict media based upon whether doing so or not doing so would create prejudice for any of the parties involved. That pretty much relegates the value of this article to filler.
- diggopolous, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1I agree that most likely one won't see this in the U.S. anytime soon. Even if you are a spectator to a trial, most judges, bailiffs and officers of the court expect an amount of decorum. I have seen courtroom attendees get bounced and threatened by the court for frivolities such as not standing during the "all rise", reading a book, eating, etc. I would assume that even those with bona-fide journalism credentials would be restricted depending on the court.
- HamNCheese, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1A picture is worth 140 characters.
- zaniisserious, on 10/20/2009, -0/+0Touché .
- likwidfuzion, on 10/20/2009, -1/+1Are you being sarcastic?
- AndrewDB, on 10/20/2009, -3/+1Did anyone notice...
THIS IS IN AUSTRALIA?
FTA: "but Australia (Australia) is breaking some interesting ground when it comes to Twitter (Twitter) and the legal system."
Their rules don't pertain to the United States. - inactive, on 10/20/2009, -8/+2It's big news and twitter become popularity .Twitter has own place for fast media.
