- fluidfoundation, on 05/30/2008, -0/+5I miss WebVan and Kosmo.com. Nothing better than ordering a pack of smokes and a 2 liter when you didnt feel like moving.
*****, imagine if WebVan was around now with World of Warcraft, GTAIV, and so many other great games out. Some people would never leave the house. - SevenC, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3My favorite dot-com failure: AllAdvantage - They paid you to surf in exchange for running their ad bar on your computer.
- asskicker32, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Kozmo. Oh, man, how I loved Kozmo. I used to use pinkdot and then ordering online became available and I gained about 60 pounds.
- erickhill, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2The sock puppet was, actually, kind of funny at times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sICSyC9u5iI
And yet I want to punch him. - erickhill, on 05/29/2008, -1/+3I heard about one young dot-commer in SF who did so well with her stock options back then that when she cashed out in the nick of time before everything collapsed, she was genius enough to have bought 3 real estate properties in the SF area. Consider that in SF back then a 3 bedroom town home going for $400k sounded expensive. And she bought three. Probably sold all three in 2005 for 1.5 million each.
Oh, to be at the front-end of that gravy train, and not the caboose! - WWpants, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1I can't believe I never used Kozmo or Webvan back then. I think I took it all for granted; now every time I don't feel like going to the store or grabbing some breakfast, I think of Kozmo.
- linlijun, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1dot-com bubble burst, 10 yrs a cycle.
- Nabeelco, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Although this isn't quite on topic, Do you all remember ICraveTV.com? Those guys were so far ahead of the curve! And to think the TV stations sued them out of business just to turn around and do just that 7 or so years later.
That is proof that corporations just slow the progress of mankind.

- davidlt, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1I don't even remember Kozmo or Webvan. I do remember one of the first successful websites sold coffee, but I don't recall the name. Do any of you? I think it was "joe" something or other. Or maybe it was Al something - after all, Al Gore invented the internet. :)
