- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -4/+70There's a fine line between Internet-celebrity curiosity and gay cyberstalking. It's about a mile and a half back in the other direction.
- brendanc, on 10/12/2007, -13/+64Figures. "Kevin Rose" in title = front page news.
I don't mean to troll here... but... who the ***** cares? - orientis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I can't believe how lame this is. People complain about Apple fanboys, but THIS is a real piece of fanboy work. Whatever, I guess if heterosexual unrequited manlove is your thing, go for it.
- rauz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11...screen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Dude is using a Dell...
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12That Dell uses the same LCD panel as the 20 inch Apple Cinema but is half the price. Edit: Oh *****, I actually commented on this story.
- inarguable, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10It is fantastically irrelevant, sycophantic, pathetic articles like this one that, when they make it to the front page, do nothing but harm whatever credibility Digg has as a professional news delivery site.
- TKn00b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Forgot to point out bottle of beer just above his head.
- rauz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It's right there on his desk.
- fordistumley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The reason this is on "Digg front page" is because, after the link was submitted, people looked at the content, enjoyed it, and dugg it. Thus is the nature of digg.com. Not to say that I enjoyed it, in fact I didn't even digg it, but just because a story is on the main page doesn't mean that you personally endorsed it or anything.
- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Ok Diggers can we all please agree for once and bury this as LAME.
Thank You. - Thoric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6He isn't god, but Digg is a nice way to find the news without having to skim through boring corporations websites like CNN, and new york times...
And he looks like 80% of the not-so-nerd population, so it's kind of easy to relate to...
[/2cents] - brendanc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6And the screen has Vista on it...
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I'm embarrassed by all this fanboyism of a guy who created a website. Woopie.
It'll all change someday. Slashdot used to have a whole bunch of CmdrTaco fans, but now it's "cool" to "hate" the mods. - baaaan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Who the hell is Kevin Rose?
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4prod1g3y, you need help.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Right Guard deodorant spray? Come on Kevin. You're better than that.
- despisedIcon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yay let's all roll in kevin's poo
stupid fanboys - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Why don't you guys get a life size poster of him so you can jerk off to it...
So stupid...he made a website...didn't cure cancer or anything like that. He created a platform in which we share news (and I use that term very loosely.) - Blackstar2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Watch you Kevin you'll be getting digg stalkers next!
I can see it now..."I just got a pic of Digg founder Kevin Rose standing up! OMG! 11111111 DIGG ME NOW!" :S - inarguable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@prod1g3y - That really was a sad post there. It is not about ripping on Rose (props to the guy), it is about the ultra-obsessive fan worship of the man, worship that is so pathetically misguided and immature that it's very presence does nothing but denegrate the already shaky reputation that Digg has as a source for real news...when every fourth article on the front page is about what a great guy, great innovator, great humanitarian, great genius Rose is (by the sounds of it, we can ask you if he is a 'great lover' or not), it smacks of nothing more than classic sycophantism. Funny how these people don't get that their sad little ass-kissing attempts do this site FAR more harm than good.
- shitbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Gayest article ever. I wonder if that Rose guy actually likes or encourages being idolized by the hopeless destined-to-die-alone-and-still-a-virgin masses that follow his every move. Absolutely pathetic.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He's that guy who use to be on The Screensavers back when TechTV was a thing.
- kingace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What's interesting is that 95% of the above posts contain people complaining about how "everyone" on Digg worships Kevin Rose. Well, that 95% says otherwise.
- ChillHomie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Erm... Why did this dissapear from the front page?
Oh wait, nobody freaking cares - kb0x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh, wow, What's on kevins desk... Excuse me while i masturbate while reading the article *rolls eyes*
Digg is just a kevin fan site full of alex wannabes - kingace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, you got one thing right...
- biggbrother, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If Digg can survive when it publishes this many stories about Kevin Rose and anything else remotely related to Digg, the whole ***** world is doomed. The internet can't work.
- Carlsen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is a little scary...
- samuelcotterall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love seeing what goes on behind the scenes at Digg (and a lot of tech companies for that matter) but not to the extent where I consider taking a previous "front pager" (the Laughing Squid story) and putting some labs on it newsworthy.
I like his shoes, though. - benijuana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no, you aren't...
kevin rose is a cool guy... but next diggers are going to be going through his garbage and keeping a journal of his breakfasts
this is excessive - Aero1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3you'd think the guy would have an office
- jon314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I love Digg but this is kind of pathetic.
Up next: Kevin Rose cures cancer, ends world hunger and is really Jesus. - NickDouglas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Brilliant, sockpuppets. E-mail tips@valleywag.com if you want a comment account for Valleywag/Gizmodo/etc.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"What's On Kevin Rose's Desk"
who ?? - inarguable, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@cprincipe - Nope. A 'mildly entertaining thing' this article is not. Now, had you said 'insanely pathetic', or perhaps 'incredibly pitiful' then i would say you were on point with your assessment.
- benijuana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow, stalkers...
- shitbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He's not an icon. He's a webmaster. Lets get some ***** perspective here.
- jcapogna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Personally, I don't worship Kevin Rose or anything, but its neat to see how some more notable people go about their daily routine.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1edit
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't tell if prod1g3y is being ironic or not. If so, well done, sir. If not, OMFG.
- cprincipe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wow, such hate.
It was just a mildly entertaining thing. Like so many other things here, if you're not interested, don't click. - resplence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember prodigy's story. His case is OMFG.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1of course I read yours, but mine links to digg so it has a little more relevance and throws some weight behind yours. we're on the same team here.
- zttrx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Right, 10th edition. I'm stuck in the pre-bubble. Funny thing is, I just bought it too.
- prod1g3y, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@orientis Dude. Seriously, people who hate the icon of the website we're all on should get off the site! All these sexually oriented comments don't really have a place here! A guy thought it would be interesting to see what the workplace of a successful geek looked like. He created a story about it. It took a whole bunch of people to get the story to the front page! Obviously someone enjoyed the content or else we wouldn't all be here talking about it!
- ChillHomie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah I know, it hurts the environmet... Queer
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Offices are overrated if you want to actually talk to people.
Also, I think Smancy is a good name. Before you go all homophobephobe on me and digg me down, this guy is currently on the front page for being awesome. http://digg.com/offbeat_news/Anti_Gay_Protesters_PWNED_Pic - ChillHomie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I actually haven't played it, i'm still having fun on 8000
- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Does anyone know what kind of Gravis shoe he's wearing?
