(Security update) - samard2002, on 10/13/2008, -4/+41I won't use Web 3.0 b/c it ships with DRM. I have to buy an internet for every computer I have.
- Phoenixheart, on 10/12/2008, -5/+412.1 BETA
- legendxx, on 10/13/2008, -1/+20More dumb articles speculating about what's next.
- Scaryclouds, on 10/13/2008, -1/+19A flash site that takes forever to load, has poor usability, and no obvious purpose, god I hope that is not "Web 3.0"
- inactive, on 10/12/2008, -4/+19I think they'll hit us with something completely clever and jump straight to Web 4.0. It's 2.0 squared.
- NegativeDigg, on 10/13/2008, -3/+14You guys got it all wrong...

- gametavern, on 10/13/2008, -2/+12The Matrix.
- fluffyturtle, on 10/13/2008, -0/+10So in other words web 2.0 has been around longer than most digg users.
Classifying the web in versions is extremely retarded. - najdorf, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10More marketing *****.
- MikeSD34, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10Splash screens?
Flash for navigation?
Excessive roll-overs?
I think you mean web 0.74i. - Rocco03, on 10/13/2008, -6/+14First explain what the hell Web 2.0 is and what's new about it.
- MWeather, on 10/13/2008, -1/+9Web 2.0 SP1
- cjnkns, on 10/13/2008, -1/+92.1 ALPHA?
- floejoe, on 10/13/2008, -0/+8I have that feature already. I pay for internet at home, then I pay for internet on my blackberry and then I pay an additional $30 fee if I want to get that same internet on my laptop through the blackberry. My computer lab fee also pays the cost of internet on campus.
So, that's 4 expenditures totaling around $200 for the same damn internet. - grendel, on 10/13/2008, -2/+10WEBCAT
- ralphthemagi, on 10/13/2008, -2/+9"You produce, we profit."
That is the driver behind Web 2.0. Basically, you can get people to *do work* (in most cases, creating content) for free, and then profit from their work by either charging them to do work, or selling your workforce advertising, or both. Of course, the "profit" part doesn't always pan out, but that's the goal.
It's a crazy idea that flies in the face of reality. It's akin to walking into a restaurant where the walls are sold to corporations as advertising space and you have to cook your own food. If you want a premium seat by the window, you have to pay an extra $20. - inactive, on 10/13/2008, -1/+7Web 0: Origins

- fluffyturtle, on 10/13/2008, -2/+7The next version of the web involves go-karts and flames.
- gr00vy, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6No no no. It means roundy corners, just like Digg. But you have to do them in Javascript.
- Boofster, on 10/13/2008, -12/+16I got it right here:

He's been Web 3.0 for years. - silfiriel, on 10/13/2008, -2/+6well this is new, an article that's asking what's next, not telling....
- APer3Caper, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5Web 2.0? I've been surfing 9.0 with AOL.
- gametavern, on 10/13/2008, -3/+7Interactivity of websites... Like Digg, you're in charge of the content. Instead of just plain static pages.
- Spuy767, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4My mom was in Beta Kappa Alpha.
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Web 2.0 is a world bankers conspiracy. Ron Paul would bring back animated GIFs and embedded MIDI tunes like the founding fathers intended the internets to be. Wake up, America!
- sockpuppets, on 10/13/2008, -1/+5I hope it's made out of a single milled piece of aluminum.
- CyberSally, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4I love it. I didn't even have to click through to know what the first comment would be. :-)
- alexcroox, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3"What's Next... Let Us Know in the Comments!"..so erm this article told us nothing?
- TheSpook, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2It will probably be made of corn. :/
- ricmac, on 10/15/2008, -0/+2here's a follow-up, of what readers from RWW, digg and on Twitter responded when asked: what's next after web 2.0: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/whats_next_af ...
- temujin2012, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3Anyone else want to certify themselves as Web 3.0 Experts to capitalize before this name sticks in all the corporations?
We'll make millions talking about websites and web-based applications! - shinkou, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2Cool! So Web 3.0 is all about the no HTML but flash stuffs! God damn it!
- sjbdallas, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2I'd rather take the red pill.
- eatsushi, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3"It's fair to say that in 10 years time, Internet TV will be totally different to what it is today. Higher quality pictures, more powerful streaming, personalization, sharing, and much more - it's all coming over the next decade. Perhaps the big question is: how will the current mainstream TV networks (NBC, CNN, etc) adapt?"
Actually I hope they crumble as smaller reliable news sources adapt to this technology and give the bias media a kick in the crotch - TheSpook, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2You're a *****.
- saadkamal, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2Well there has been a lot of research done on Semantic web lately...which is likely to take over the Web 2.0.
- Mankrik, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3In Web 3.0 will enable us to punch web developers who abuse flash and bad site layout THROUGH the screen.
- SugarCoatedSalt, on 10/13/2008, -1/+3no Web Vista?
- TheSpook, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2I thought it was crap. All I saw was a rotating logo and a dancing status bar...
- mzx639, on 10/13/2008, -1/+2This is what is next.
http://www.techcrunchit.com/2008/08/01/welcome-to- ... - mytCbumps, on 10/13/2008, -6/+7Everything to do with computers should be considered in "beta"! Nothing is complete or perfect, etc etc etc...
- OGla, on 10/13/2008, -3/+4Something clever.
- nemodomi, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1Let me get this straight? A site that calls itself readwriteweb.com can't even give me a damn margin at the left side of the page? I am SO not impressed!
- C00der, on 10/13/2008, -2/+3iWeb 2.0++ on rails.
- darkphenox, on 10/14/2008, -1/+2large amount of interactive content, where have you been?
