- galisus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Is that camel sniffing that other camel's butt?
- CaptainWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19It's a top view.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@ ross:
Why would you start reading the comments before looking at the article/photo?
Did you expect that people wouldn't be talking about the photo?
Your comment baffles me. - tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11yes.
- schwal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10i noticed the top view imediatly, i thought there was something else special
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7After looking at that picture I have a strange desire to go smoke a cigarette
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I didn't think it was the fact it was a top view since that was so easy to figure out...
- bSimms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Is it just an aerial photo where the shadows from the camels are supposed to just mess with your head?
- strcmp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They look like reptiles from above.
- JaytB, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I actually think I saw this one before on Digg.
Although it mentions 'photograph' I seem to remember it was some satelite picture instead.
Don't shoot me when I'm wrong. - robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5That took like 3 seconds :(
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5And that's not a photograph?
- ajcannon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3well I guess I will be the first to admit that I didn't see what it was until I read the comments.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The camel's shadows are as big as the actual camel.
- IQ70, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.georgesteinmetz.com/
Check out yourself. Click on the picture on the photographers website.
And I think its called an aerial view rather than a top-view which everyone seems to erroneously use. - aquadude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, the same for me. I was trying to see if there was like a shadow without a camel, or something along those lines.
- Heshanh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is that it?
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+2I couldn't figure out what was so special, I instantly realised the top view.
Kind of wish I didn't so I could get excited and oo and ahh about it. - mediamanbkk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At the end of the day... the photographer has a great eye for spottng a photo
- IQ70, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.georgesteinmetz.com/images/newwork/empty/image3_large.jpg
One more of the same type from the same photographer. - chrisrosa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3nice photo...not such a mystery for those of us w/ three dimensions.
- autarky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this was posted not so very long ago, and it's not all that incredible in the first place
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is that the one in front of Joe Camel?
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I couldn't figure out if the camels just looked funny for some odd reason or if I hadn't drank enough coffee yet this morning.
- Jezzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1is it a satellite image?
- bsoric, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Ohhhhhhh.
Took me ages to figure out what you were talking about, but you're right, it is a top view. The "camels" are actually shadows. - yibble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And there was me thinking it was some bizarre target range for tanks :) *teehee*
- stoops, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yea same, I knew there was no such thing as a black camel so I looked a little harder. Pretty good though, nice work.
- Lare2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice
- balazs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yes, and i dont get why people are calling it a top-view. this is an aerial view because it is not a sketch or a drawing but a satellite image! pretty cool though
- dhuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1... i'm not sure how to read half of the comments on this page.
- shawgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1At first I thought, "Those camels have repulsurlifts!" Then I realized it was an aerial shot, but I was not disappointed. It is a cool shot.
- monsieurgrand02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You have to click on "[show comments]" in the grey box.
- walugi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought it was because the black camels looked like cranes facing left. The top view mystery was a bit of a let down.
- monsieurgrand02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've seen this before and I still can't figure out why people think its such a special picture. How is it not obvious that it's a top view photograph?
...some people are just very easily amused, I suppose. - x3n1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its a parallel reality where camels are black and cast colour shadows obviously...
- MrUnderbridge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uh...the very narrow whitish things are camels. The black things really are shadows. Look where two overlap. Or where a camel doesn't have his flank pointed at the camera - he gets "squished" along his head-ass axis.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So, those little things at the black camels' feet are actually the camels then...from high above.. OK
- Gabskij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well I thought those bleeding camels where riding on turtles. I guess I've read too much Terry Pratchett.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I see nothing special about the photo.
If those are really the shadows, then where are the camels?
It is simply a photo taken from such an angle that the shadows make the camels look a bit darker....no big whoop!
I have to agree with cbeach: "Award for "Most Patronising Digg Story 2006"?"
I won't digg-nify it with another digg. - MrUnderbridge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2No *****. The whole gimmick is that the sun was at a 45 degree angle? Whoopee. I kept looking for another 5 minutes, figuring that couldn't be it and that I was an ijit for not seeing it.
- peteremcc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0some people see things in different ways i guess...
like those magic eye 3d things, some people can see them, some people can't, some people need to be told what it is before they notice it.

- ross., on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I didn't start reading it, when I commented, the offending comment/words were right under the article with no other words around it. It was hard not to see it.
- xmpcray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"What is so special about this photo?"
Nothing.
Reported lame. - cybershoplifter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rare nocturnal African black camel used by the Bedouin, not seen often during day lite, sometimes used for night racing.
- br4dl3y, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i thought that the camels were riding turtles!
if you look at the shadows as the camel and then the top of their bodies look like the turtles. - MatthewWilkes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Your English is abysmal, and you are incorrect.
- lukeluke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Very nice! I didn't see it at first.
- Izzard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Err, as opposed to a shadow that's smaller than the object casting it?
