- indraneel24, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27Camera's too high, IMO. ;-)
- Jumangi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Pretty good for a one person(woman) show. Morgan could stand to not move so much while she's talking. Not to say be stiff as a board but tone down the emotive stuff.
- 42Vindictive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10She's forcing it FAR too much. Her tone changes from high to low way too quickly, so that it gets abhorently annoying to listen too. Its a great blog, but she's just over-acting it way, way too much. Needs to move BACK, RELAX and just read like a normal person...
Still pretty decent though. - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Here are my early thoughts on it.
I think Morgan Webb is great. She actually seems like she has a mind while doing this thing, unlike X-Play. I say good for her. I also think she has her ups and downs, but she looks particularly pretty in this video, and probably more.
I like that she is being emotive, but it did give me kind of a headache. I say pan the camera back a little to show her head and her chest. I think it's cool that she's passionate about this stuff, but either pan the camera back (I would rather this) or get rid of it.
Seeing as pretty much nothing happens on the web without Digg knowing, she covered like 5-10 stories, and since Digg is the only site I visit, and seeing as how I am on the internet for most of the day, I have heard about every single one of these stories, save the whole argument of making the Washington Post open.
Overall, stuff like this gives me great hope for the internet. I hope people can move more and more away from TV, it is inferior in everyway. And Morgan is excellent and I hope to hear more. - richpav, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6http://www.webbalert.com/
- Jaserr83, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6She's married? Geeks hearts everywhere are breaking right now.
- hbweb500, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Glad Im not the only one who could barely stand her theatrical presentation. I would normally couldn't care less, but it was so seizure-like that I was getting annoyed.
- macguy815, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I kinda felt like I was in her personal space watching that... pull back the camera
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Christina Ricci does that better.
- Theipolicy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Wrists are being cut for definitive proof that Morgan is married. I hope she does well.
- NatsuMatto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Wow... I forgot what Morgan Webb was like without the snotty/snarky X-Play dialogue-- this is the most engaged/animated I've seen her since she was on The Screen Savers.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3So how's that lobotomy working out for you?
- Jammerdelray, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Anyone notice the valley girl in her?
- jerang, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Nah rocketboom is way better!!
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3She's so stiff it's kinda painful to watch. I'm kind of tired of "on-camera Morgan". I wish she'd start a written or video blog where she's just herself.
- goldentofu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Try the show Textra and Natali Del Conte. She's been on Cranky Geeks a couple times. Great show. She's pretty hot too.
- grizwald, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Bring back the bleach blonde hair!!
- dgh1973, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Morgan Webb is hot... in a Wednesday Adams kind of way.
- geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's not really that it's too high, it's framed wrong; Rocketboom got the shot right, having the chest-high medium shot that includes some background and the desk gives you the feel of "news"; the shot framed right up on her face like that is more personal, shows off her movements far too much, and is too informal for presenting news.
- yathosho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2teleprompter or not, please don't get THIS close to the camera with THOSE extreme mimics
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I had to rush to the volume control and turn down her annoying voice before I lost my boner.
- LowRentDiggs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah I had to stop watching. Hopefully she'll learn fast and just act normal :D
- surlygrad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2but does it have the amanda congdon rack?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I've added Morgan Web's daily video to the ComputingNews.com videos see http://www.computingnews.com
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1meh. I just watched it, spent like a good while covering Sunday night football, and Lolapalooza, and they actually spend a large amount of time talking about John Dvorak.
And Rocket boom I tried for like 30 seconds, and it was a dreadful start, I don't know how it really was all the way in, but I didn't have the patience for it today. - geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Like, totally.
- shekyboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The show is short and sweet. Its great for a summary.
It could improve its presentation and make it much more interactive
Here are some of my ideas to make this much better (applies to other video bloggers too)
http://abhishek.tiwari.com/2007/08/04/suggestions-for-webb-alert-and-other-video-bloggers/
Abhishek - iDrifter, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I'll stay with RocketBoom.
- christoast, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1there goes their secret dream of marrying Morgan Webb. yeah, like it was ever a possibility anyway...
- alberto24, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1 edited.
- selphishnerd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1..and by "more compelling" you mean "more Morgan Webb"
- nicerobot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I believe all the movement is to make it less apparent that she's reading. Maybe she's a little excessive but, personally, it's far more distracting watching someone reading to me.
- 35263526, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1'stiff'? If anything, she was moving too much, to the point of being annoying.
- mapkinase, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought the woman was too "high"...
- jebudas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Fair play to them for getting this on digg... it's like a free focus group.
- miyamotofreak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2My 5 minute tech podcast starring a hot girl is geekbrief.tv
- tsbardella, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Dont harsh NewYorkBoom so bad..
- chris9902, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2so it's like reading a blog only with some annoying chirpy women blathering on in your ear?
- wisewaif, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Not really. At least Rocketboom puts out some interesting and creative content form time to time. Do we really need another blazé video blog about tech and stuff? There's about 400 of them already.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Mine are.
- chicagodigger, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3I liked it better when it was called RocketBoom and starred Amanda Congdon
- wassim2k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1There's some delay in the video, it's like watching a translated kung-fu movie.
- tsbardella, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Wow, I watched it, and it was great. She is so entertaining and it will be very worthwhile. Her game reviews are so good I watch every one even if there was no way I would care about the game. She is a great writer. Thanks so much for posting this Nashik.
- zephc, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Inaccurate, blogs are never interesting.
- somewhatfrank, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1Looks a lot like RocketBoom.

What is Digg?
