In a language like Perl there is a module to check for the possibility of a programmers code that could be tainted with insecure code. It's called the taint module. I'm surprised that javascript doesn't have anything in comparison. But I shouldn't be surprised because I've seen a lot of code that was insecure and it's the programmers fault. The real catchphrase should be "buyer beware".
