- mountaineer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Since there's so much negativity here, I'll add to it ;-) What's with the spam blogs in the "who blogged this" section? Seems lame to me.
But seriously, lighten up folks. I understand the concerns about it being US centric. I had a geocoder handy for North America and put a lot of time into tracking down those addresses. I decided to put it out and ask for help in adding other locations (clearly spelled out on the page). It's already expanding to international apps, and as more are added the zoom will be adjusted to nicely show them.
As for the debate about Web 2.0, for purposes of this map, I define it simply as the explosion of internet apps that have come out over the last 1-2 years and are popping up everyday as documented in the popular tracking blogs like TechCrunch and eHub. There is something definitely going on, call it what you want.
Digg will be added, I couldn't find a location for it (more specific than SF), but have one now.
Thanks for digging it. - FlyingLlama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dont get it.
WHAT IS WEB 2.0??!!
I keep hearing it all day long but what exactly is it? Sites using AJAX and CSS and gradients and shadows or something else?
someone help me im meltingdkjghs./.'[ghijlrKRj - BGFeltenink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/oreilly/tim/news/2005/09/30/what-is-web-20.html
This is what Web 2.0 is. A lot of people keep using it as a buzzword so I'd give this article a read to see what the people that are involved in its development define it as. - Alsymer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Drag the map over to Europe and you'll see some there ... at least they don't drop you at a global level with small red blobs all over the place ... it's not much work to move to the part of the world you want to see. :-P
- thr0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1where's riya.com and pixart.com stuff? left india all along?
- briantech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool. Not surprisingly, looks like things are focused around the bay area and the whole eastern seaboard.

- sgtpinky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like how it only shows America. Classic. You should put in your post next time that it's "Only for American's", just so the rest of us don't get confused.
Lame. - rawktron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Posted this yesterday, article about what baloney Web 2.0 is:
http://digg.com/technology/Web_2.0_Try_Web_1.0.
It's just an empty buzzword for marketing schmucks to latch onto because it looks good on a mag cover. - lukes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is the best link i've found that's described web 2.0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0
ps) dugg, but would be better if there was more information about the sites, like what technologies they were built in. when they were first founded etc. then that might make it to the main page. - anarckie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0/lame

- lukes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0: ) ok, so i found this submission to digg on the links page rather than the digg main page, and now i see it _is_ on the main page. i'll rephrase that to, it might make it to the main page AGAIN. how's that? whew.
