- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ummmmm ... just noticed some inbound traffic from DIGG popping up ... for those interested, the christmas webcam showed up TWICE on digg and some of the comments were hilarious:

and note that in both times, things slowed down, but the DIGG effect never clobberred the site.
I've added AJAX functionality (CGI::AJAX Perl module to be specific) and this code hasn't been stress-tested ... so while I think it can handle you guys, brings on the DIGG'ers! ;-) - Caydel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hmmm... not much change so far... I guess Goldie the Goldish has some company ... like a LOT of company ... HOLY mackeral does that site send a ton of traffic - currently showing 548 people checking it out.
The 3.2 GHz 100 Mbps Pentium box running Linux/Apache (with mod_perl of course) is hanging in there - load factor about 0.5. Over Christmas, DIGG sent about 16,000 inbounds .... don't know if that number has increased since then, but collgehumor.com is going to give that a run for the money at this rate. - goldfish654, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yaaay, goldfishy!
