Our Exchange server has been down longer than that during production hours, how is this any different? The official explanation is here, and it isn't nearly as interesting as Google getting "hacked":

I don't type search.google.com, so I never would have thought to type search.yahoo.com on the one time I've visited yahoo in the past ~10 years. But I will try to remember that address for the future.
