I feel like I'm standing in line waiting for a concert to begin.... - logic, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43I think you're misunderstanding the purpose of the video section.
It's not for watching MPAA material...it's for the "home video" type of files you find on YouTube, and Creative Commons videos. At least that's my impression... - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41Some updates from the Vid

Viewable data visualizations (VERY cool) - launched in mid-July

Digg Spy on Crack (launched in July) indicating swarm
Going to allow users to have access to Digg's toolkit (API) - again in mid July.
There is some VERY SOLID programming about to be unleashed. - dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+42Ahh... Did the camera person really have to stand at the side of the projection screen? I wish I could entirely see what's going on...
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30DIGG IS BACK ONLINE.
For a few minutes: I thought they were implementing a bit ahead of schedule there. - shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29So this is the third revision of Digg. Maybe we can call it Revision 3... ***** it's already taken.
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26It would be hilarious to see who is digging comments down in real time. Comment wars!
- jeremymcanally, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Why is it just a video of him talking? They got like a really bad 3 second of what he's actually talking about, the rest of the video is just his face as he talks about how awesome the new site is (which is on the screen just off camera).
Terrible. - kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22There is! Smile.
- k.monell, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20The design isn't really changing all that much it would seem. It's more the functionality of the site that is changing from what I've seen/heard.. This is indeed exciting. I just hope that fans of the original 'technology' aspect of the site don't feel alienated. It will be interesting to see if the diggnation podcast will reflect the new categories or will remain tech based.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21i for one can't wait
looks awesome - DMCau, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23Yeah looking pretty nice.
A download mirror of the .mov file (NOT Flash video) - 60MB:
http://www.filecloud.com/files/file.php?user_file_id=196997 - sizemoresr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16I probably regret this later http://sizemoresr.com/mt/KevinRosePreviewsDigg30109.mov
- Logan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16Yeah, I was IMing all of my friends - Digg 3.0! Digg 3.0! Digg 3.0! [pause] Oh, wait. Nevermind.
- misxn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17I know. The video was informative, but the content was LAME.
- bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15CELEBRITY GOSSIP? PLEASE KEVIN TELL ME THATS NOT AN ACTUAL SECTION!
:( - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13http://rapidshare.de/files/23940199/Ekai-KevinRosePreviewsDigg30109.mov.html
- N080dy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11...wtf? not all videos have to be pirated, or copyright... I tend to get the same idea as logic. And why will we loose?
- otaking, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13seems like you are 3x bad at flaming
- Cabbage, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Ahh...how cute, little Steve Jobs junior in the making
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I like digg...been coming here almost since the start of it all but in all honesty id rather use the new digg then watch a video of Kevin Rose talk about it. Its a website not a video game.
- potatono, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I'm one of the blip.tv guys. We made some changes to the servers to handle the Digg. Bring it on!
- Tomholius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9http://www.hyperevo.com/index.php?subaction=showcomments&id=1151119939&archive=&start_from=&ucat=2&
Another mirror, Direct Download, no waiting in ***** filecloud lines and no speed limit. - outz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9does that mean his 15 minutes are up now?
- dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11lol. they wouldn't pull a fast one on us... right?
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Yeah that kinda sucks...oh well, only 2 more days to wait.
- iupetre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I wish the camera would pan left a little more. I WANNA SEE!!!
- daggerhart, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8kevin who?
- bonlebon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9This post is a joke, all the sweet features and no view of any them....lame.
- robsonde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5cant wait for V3 but that video is crap, only watched the first minute, bad sound and cant see the big screen.
I know that digg V3.0 is big news but this story is crap, sorry. - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I can't wait for the new design, and for all the hard work they've put into this site.
I just like to say, thanks mates! - SoldierPrime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You know i gave them a suggestion similar to that , because you can see what comment your friend diggs. I also suggested comment searching, unless I've been in the dark all this time and missed a function lol.
- 36linescreen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've got to say, I a little concerned that the influence digg has on the internet zeitgeist - the changes will make it more personalized but once i uncheck gaming since i dont care about the new quake engine, i might miss out on Spore news that i might actually care about
- stomicron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7We've said it before and we'll say it again...the feature exists.
WTFV or in the case of the previous story LATFSS - kewldude606, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6We go from captchas to prevent automated submissions to APIs to encorage automated submissions.
But I think it's a good idea, what would be even easier is to add an RSS feed to digg. If the RSS feed gets, say, 200 diggs then stories from that feed are entered automatically into digg. - dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Went down again... hopefully testing things... on purpose.
- tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5digg will release an open API in a couple months!
Awesome! - Zero456, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3R.I.P. Netscape.
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The audience is so quiet and attentive!
- SeanMoney, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I thought the same myself. Kudos to the digg team for all of their hard work indeed, -not the guy who shot this video though.
- popltree2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I vote the new "Digg spy on crack" should be called Digg Swarm.
- Skettalee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Check this out for an idea: Seen the flower section? Where the flowers grow as people digg the stories or whatever it does, well picture that as a wallpaper on your desktop, and you dont even need a browser to check out whats the top stories on digg for the day, that would be really cool to have.
- jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2To help ease the load off of the others if needed:
http://helpmegetamac.net/KevinRosePreviewsDigg30109.mov - TheProfessional, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7^^^To the guy above me, "Clearer screenshots of data visualizations appended after Kevin's presentation." Now if the video would just play at all...
Congrats Kevin Rose and the Digg team, I know this is something you have been working on for a long time. It's always a wonderful experience to get something out the door. - ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8For the time digg was down, it was like I was unable to breath.
All is well now - alloneword, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Worse camera work ever.
As much as looking at Kevin for 15min explaining it is cool, why the hell wont the guy pan to the left to actually see the screens? - imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4for some reason it seams like he giving a steve jobs keynote speech in a closet
- PlancksCnst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That update pretty much sums it up. The only thing actually worth watching the video for is the data visualizations. Fastforward to about the last 1/4 of the video to see them.
- ascott9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3it worked perfect for me! Good work to the guys at blip for handling it
- The_Ox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I somewhat agree with your comment, but I'm glad to see Digg grow.
I too will probably miss how Digg is solely a technology website, but I doubt Kevin and his gang are getting wrapped up in money. I truly believe they want what's best for all of us.
Why else would they give us the power to control Digg ? -
