- theOster, on 10/28/2009, -0/+289sadly, we at PCMag can't afford a photographer that knows what they're doing.
- Solkre, on 10/29/2009, -2/+282Screw the interface or apps, I want more pictures of the phone sitting next to other phones!
- sahaskatta, on 10/29/2009, -0/+115I just unboxed the Droid yesterday.
Here are some real pics:

no stupid slideshows either! - rblancarte, on 10/29/2009, -3/+114Meh - I want a review. So they took it out of the box. Big whoop.
- JTMON, on 10/29/2009, -4/+89WOW! PCMag even fails at an unboxing story. Hello morons, you want there to be a picture of how the phone is when you first open the box. OMFG, can't you even look at 100's of other unboxing stories and notice something they have in common!
- theOster, on 10/28/2009, -3/+85meh - only the fruits care about packaging
- DarthVolta, on 10/29/2009, -1/+75Hot phone on phone action
- codyman, on 10/29/2009, -1/+69Looking good. I hope it does compete with the iPhone, as good competition usually yields better products and better prices

/s - PakoBedejo, on 10/29/2009, -13/+46Some of us don't buy a phone to stick into our vaginas & make sweet love to.
I, personally, will accept a blockier design when it delivers a larger screen, faster hardware, tactile qwerty keypad, camera with flash, etc.
You can go ahead & keep your stylish, locked down, proprietary piece of *****. Have fun shoving it up your snatch. - Gravey9, on 10/29/2009, -48/+80God dammit that's an ugly phone.

- mullzoo, on 10/29/2009, -2/+24not dugg for the woman's "man hands"
- Solkre, on 10/29/2009, -0/+19Actually I don't believe Android 2.0 has been out for the last year or so.
- Crimeodial, on 10/29/2009, -2/+21Thanks for explaining how digg works...
- thequadlaser, on 10/29/2009, -1/+18well played.
- rushnerd, on 10/29/2009, -2/+19These ARE the droids i'm looking for!
- TheBigBad, on 10/29/2009, -1/+17looks like a 90s palmpilot.
- factsahoy, on 10/29/2009, -2/+18If you think ANY "unboxing" is exciting, you lead a pathetic life.
- bloominoctober, on 10/29/2009, -0/+16"We compared the sizes of a right-side up Droid and an upside-down iPhone."
- FritoPendejo, on 10/29/2009, -0/+16I don't get it. All these phones look like squares with screens to me.
- Ihosvany, on 10/29/2009, -0/+15Times Squared
- tmaxxpunisher, on 10/29/2009, -5/+20The only thing that ever stopped me from getting an iphone is the fact that its only available with at&t. droid looks cool
- breadfred, on 10/29/2009, -0/+14That was better than the original story - well done !
- woofers07, on 10/29/2009, -0/+14And here's a picture of the cardboard use to package is, and here's a picture of the twisty tie they use to bundle the cord, and here's a picture of it laying next to a car tire, and here's a picture of page 36 of the manual.
- rodrigo74, on 10/29/2009, -1/+15Just out of curiosity, what would a photographer that knows what he/she is doing do?
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/29/2009, -0/+13Use studio lighting instead of ambient lighting and minimize reflections on the screen... that would be a good start.
- manogamez, on 10/29/2009, -4/+1615 PAGES WTF PCMAG!
Buried. - poponegra, on 10/29/2009, -0/+12***** slideshows...
- phyx726, on 10/29/2009, -0/+9wtf that was a woman?
- freeforall079, on 10/29/2009, -0/+9What unboxing?
- Chairboy, on 10/29/2009, -0/+9Because everyone hates Maddox.
- illinest, on 10/29/2009, -6/+15+ full keyboard
+ verizon network
+ google apps
+ replaceable battery
+ 5MP camera
- those who claim that one black brick is appreciably better looking than the other black brick.
I'm interested in this primarily because of the slide out keyboard. iphone has the best touchscreen I've seen but I think that's a bit like saying one pile of ***** smells better than another pile of *****. It's still *****. - directrix13, on 10/29/2009, -0/+9Its Android 2.0. No, its not the same.
- life036, on 10/29/2009, -0/+8A good photographer would not accidentally the phone.
- Zaxcomp, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7Packaging is better than a lot of the cellphones I sell. Far too much waste material in so many manufacturer's boxes.
It'd be nice if the box was the case like T-Mobile managed to do with the myTouch. - Zaxcomp, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7Withholding market collusion of course. Which there is a lot in the cell phone market.
- hinesja, on 10/30/2009, -0/+7Just submitted as it's own article on Digg. This deserves it!
- Shakermaker, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7I have a feeling she is a woman of substantial girth.
- Chairboy, on 10/29/2009, -0/+7As an iPhone owner, I'm super excited about the Droid for exactly this reason. The wicked compass in the early G-Phones eventually made it to the iPhone 3G S, for example, and I'm not certain that would have happened without another phone maker showing how sweet it was.
- diulei, on 10/29/2009, -8/+14I like Android, but am I the only one who thinks this Moto is kind of ugly? It reminds of my dad's HP calculator when I was a kid in the 80s. Digg down if you must...
- PakoBedejo, on 10/29/2009, -0/+6The Droid's screen is 0.2" larger on diagonal. It's a wider ratio, so the width is likely about the same, while it's taller. The resolution is more than double the iPhone's.
- dagamer34, on 10/29/2009, -1/+7The T-Mobile G1 and HTC Hero both need to go on a diet.
- nelson8403, on 10/29/2009, -0/+5thats the g1 and the samsung moment, the htc hero doesn't have a slide out keyboard
and they're idiots too labeling it the HTC Hero when it clearly says SAMSUNG on it - digitalpencil, on 10/29/2009, -0/+5http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/28/motorola-droid- ...
The browser speed is noticeably slower than the iPhone taking 10 seconds longer to render content but the scrolling speed is amazing, incredibly responsive once the page content loads.
Check out the videos, it's an impressive device if only to show where Android 2.0 is getting too and the docking station looks cool.. Just a shame on the overall aesthetic tbh. - zbeast, on 10/29/2009, -1/+6I really want to try one...
I like android 2.0 I'm just waiting for good hardware.
Phone makers don't worry about being as small as the Iphone.
I want screen space and battery life and you can't do that with ititty bitty hardware. -
