US could lose high-tech edge, study says

boston.com — China and India are educating so many scientists and engineers that it is all but certain that the United States will lose some of its technological advantage and will suffer difficult economic adjustments, according to a recently published paper.

  • 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is just a logical consequence of shipping a good deal of tech-related work overseas, thus depressing the tech job market here in the US, thus making this field a lot less attractive as a career option. Does it really require a Harvard MBA to understand this?

    Unfortunately, this is what the multi-million-dollar CEO salary buys a US company these days. Short-term savings, long-term problem.

    Innumeracy is taking the US around the tech drain, to be replaced by more disciplined, harder-working people in 'Third World" countries.
