Please research before posting a false summary... The budget surplus is just that a surplus in the budget which has an alloted amount to pay the national debt... which in 2000
was 5.6 Trillion

- ThugEsquire, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Digg can and should evolve. Don't treat Digg the way the RIAA treats digital music.

- puffarthur, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2We had to increase government spending anyway to keep GDP growing. Otherwise, the 2001 stock market fiasco, the 9/11 panic, rising oil prices because of CHINA, and Katrina would have forced us into a bad recession.
Also, don't forget unemployment is at an all time low and tax revenues are UP thanks to the tax cuts (economists remember the Laffer Curve?) - keng, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Help keep Digg pure.
Digg is for tech news.
