- vlekk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Useless you say? I've already bookmarked it so that when I'm stranded somewhere I can access it via my WiFi enabled laptop and portable printer! Great work!
- gnuvince, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Sounds a heck of a lot better than the alternative; you know, not surviving.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Breaking news: digg.com implicated in terrorist attacks on the DoD internet infrastructure. More information will be made available after DoD technicians finish rebooting the PDP-11 and figuring out how port 80 got hacked.
- harmlessinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I don't know why someone would mod the above comment down...
Would it help if you all had a link?

" This field manual contains information and guidance pertaining to rifle-bayonet fighting and hand-to-hand combat. This manual serves as a guide for instructors, trainers, and soldiers in the art of instinctive rifle-bayonet fighting." - bigpeeler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Dugg to death is right. Survive THIS, U.S.Army.

- solidcube, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I like FM 21-150 better...
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6pfft, zombie invasion, dont be stupid, its the robot uprising that will happen first
- Tenor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Here is the guide on another website, though it isn't in PDF format.
http://www.basegear.com/fm2176.html - crl620, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've collected a bunch of cool manuals over the last few years.
The survival one isn't that interesting. Hand-to-hand combat is cooler.
http://web.mit.edu/semenko/Public/Military%20Manuals/ - docsnavely, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3none of it is classified, and like many military manuals, they have been publicly available since they were made.
- DanAtkinson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't see any information on how to survive a meeting with your psycho ex-girlfriend.
The U.S. Army really really need to cover that one. - NiLeS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5yes
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have had this book since i was a kid - I used it in the scouts for fun.
- rekrapt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In case of nuclear attack, kneel in dark corner, stick head between legs, kiss ass goodbye.
- Karisson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Already own it. :)
- massacre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ETS isn't really a "survivalist" site, the connotation being a bunch of nutcases. It's a not-for-profit site frequented by Search and Rescue, Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Military personnel, Pilots, any many other professionals and every day people who are serious about preparing for disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods as well as outdoor activity like hiking, camping, boating and skiing, etc. Any outdoor activity that could land you in harms way is discussed as is pretty much any gear you can think of.
- Filoviridae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Mad Human Disease" already exists.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creutzfeldt-Jakob_disease - kurth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I have a paper copy of this that I lost quite a while ago.
This is a great resource for survivalist type people... - arcman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also available in here, though not in PDF format: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/
The SAS Survival handbook by John Wiseman is also an excellent survival guide. All extremely invaluable information if you find yourself in the wild, or many other types of crisis situations.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4i read this and bookmarked it, some pretty interesting information, not to mention, just imagine having to actually RECALL this information...
- toomuchgreentea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The site is already down. Anyone got a torrent?
- captaindan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Survival" sounds like it might be fun until you realize you have to eat ants and snakes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very interesting indeed, I will probably print all the pages up and it will make for some good reading. Who knows when one might be stuck in a situation where some of this knowledge would be very valuable.
- Cybert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Uh, embrace the singularity? Needing a constant stream of oxygen makes survivalism tricky.
- volz0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*laugh* This poster is about 50 years behind on this information.
- SpaceCow!, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, was just reading this. One of the "how to" of the day on my personalized google homepage.
- covertress, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1Imho, this link needs to survive. Since I posted free downloads of the US Army Survival Manual on my blog, I've recieved 100's of visitors from all over the world. There is some really useful info in here. Please keep it alive by following this link, and, of course, digg if you like. Thanks. covertress

- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1This book is an excellent resource. I have a hard copy of it in my library and refer to it often.
http://survivetheworst.blogspot.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why not just buy the damn thing? You can get it on Amazon for about five bucks.
- Justice101, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Sure nice find I guess, but the Marine survival guide is 10^23 better. It teaches you to wrestle bears with your hands and stop tanks with your body ;) beat that army, t
- velkymx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PDF version torrent would be great if anyone has it!
- LoringParkMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have some spare bandwidth. You can download the complete "Army Survival Manual" and "Army Hand to Hand Combat Guide" that I put on my blog a couple weeks ago. You can grab it at this address: here: http://mansguidebook.com/blog/archives/19
- mattyparanoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is a copy you can download... For those of us carrying PDA's into the great wilds with the idea of reading an ebook to survive....
http://www.memoware.com/?screen=doc_detail&doc_id=11164&back=main - butch3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here's a better site.

They have public domain manuals, though I doubt the manuals are up to date. Most of these things though are useless unless you're in the military, or doing something remotely related. - ummagummas08, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1now THATS technology at work . . .
But interesting none-the-less. - commandos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1you guys killed the server :p
- Chromoly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Here's the google cache:
http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:_LrrGQdEkTgJ:www.equipped.com/fm21-76.htm+&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a - pyrolyte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There are several parts of this handbook that will get you killed. But if you are in a war-zone you are already risking that.
- MrCoolBeans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've heard in the past that the US Army's instruction isn't based on long term survival, but on short-term. The majority of cases you are 'lost' for only a short period, since the US has high tech means of finding people ASAP.
But I still find this manual interesting.
;) - Habemus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like JP 3-1 better still.
http://www.nukestrat.com/us/jcs/JCS_JP3-12_05draft.pdf - AngryPenguin47, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Handy firefox extension for downloading a pageworth of links very quickly:
Downthemall
https://addons.mozilla.org/addon.php?id=201 - Chozabu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2man, if the marine survival guide could do that, the army wouldnt need funding from external sources
- Rowen7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool, a good link that you should consider posting later after you post a page up. It's great to see more open and public documents coming to light.
- covertress, on 02/09/2008, -0/+0PDF or Word Downloads at:

- kungtotte, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Top survival tip for the US Army?
Rip the US flag off of your uniform and tell people you're canadian. - johnwiseman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3dugg to death already?
