Travis Defends Fan from IFPI Threats
torrentfreak.com — Here is a story of a blogger doing his best to help the band Travis reach its fans (at the band ’s request), and the IFPI subsequently steaming in thinking it knows best and getting it wrong twice over. We look at what happened and speak to Travis themselves to get their opinion on file-sharing.

- vfreak2, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2I want to hear more stories like this, where [insert band/artist here] allows their fans to hear their music the way they want and [insert acronym such as IFPI ] automatically thinks they didn't intend it, and not even consult them. Then more artists will start to realise just what sort of douche bags they are.
- moogleboi, on 08/01/2008, -1/+3No one likes you, IFPI. Go ***** kill yourselves and leave us alone.
- preserveart, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0This is good. Fran Healy is saying that he thinks musician's should be paid for streams. Youtube is already doing this and myspace is in discussions about it. Travis has chosen to let a blogger give a song away on his blog site. He thinks that musician's should be paid when they are heard. This is the same message that Indiana was giving as well. More musicians need to talk about this.
Travis says something about going after the ISPs as well. This sounds familiar. I think a lot of musicians like the idea of free music, but, they also should be paid.
