- littlebiker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Despite so many other bookmarking engines including google's bookmark I still stick to del.icio.us - simplicity of del.icio.us and lack of design cosmetics lets me focus more on my content. I think delicious remains the best way to bookmark sites and so do people on this poll think: http://www.tezaa.com/view/Best_social_bookmarking_service_online
- blackmath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I started using delicious last month and I can never go back to not using it.
- linuxpunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I didn't even use bookmarks prior to del.icio.us, since they fell out of my favour a few years ago when I realized I could never find what I was looking for. Tagging + accessibility make it easily one of the most useful sites around.
- saturnring, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3delicious is what I use too. Of course, it clearly is enjoying the advantage of being one of the first social bookmarking sites out there.
- dvws, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't see why they haven't done that yet either, they did it with flickr. Also, I don't understand why they haven't incorporated it into their crappy IE toolbar, giving it the same functionality as the firefox extension. The FF extension is what makes delicious so convenient IMHO.
- goatrandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not really. Have you ever had a frontpage Digg? You get 30-40 thousand hits in a couple of hours, all of which disappear within 24 hours. After which you are left with a giant bandwidth bill, because digg users do not click ads.
If you are a webmaster Digg mostly sucks...mostly. - mulling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I see spammers on del.icio.us rarely, but when I do I report them immediately. The support people are really good about yanking spam accounts. Just send an email to support {at} del.icio.us with the name of the spam account and request that they do horrible things to the spammer.
My favorite tag is http://del.icio.us/tag/awesome - B4202, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yea, del.icio.us and Netvouz are my choices after shopping around all the bookmarking sites I came upon...seems to give at least some sense of order to this chaotic place we frequent, or it could just be another del.usio.n...
- grantmiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yet another example of how messed up & useless Alexa information is: the original source for this information http://weblogs.hitwise.com/leeann-prescott/2006/08/delicious_traffic_more_than_do.html states "in July del.icio.us ranked at number 6,793 among all sites in terms of visits." compared to their three month average Alexa Rank of 147th most popular site in the world.
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I only ever use delicious to bookmark something at work that I want to read or view later at home... I don't use tagging, or searching, or any of that...
And the Firefox extension makes it pretty easy. - littlebiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, this web poll doesn't not allow anonymous users- so it's as accurate as how digg stories get to the homepage. Even the national elections are many times not reflective of what people want. statistics is another story!
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4A web poll? Stop the presses! We have a winner!
Has anyone taken a web poll seriously since 1996? They violate good polling practices in every way imaginable. Not only is the participating population self selecting, they can frequently vote multiple times. - commandar!, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Meh. Personally, the URL is a large part of why I've never given the site more than a cursory glance. Difficult to remember and a bit more difficult to type because it's trying to be cute.
- goatrandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1del.ico.us is full of spam now. I used to use it every day, but now I can't stand having to wade through thousands of stupid spammy porn entries listed under the 'funny' category.
- gd007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1if you are the first to do something, you remain the top spot unless you screw up big.
- garoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Its like that Simpsons joke. "According to this graph ending July 1978, disco is king!"
- dvws, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Meh. Personally, the URL is a large part of why I've never given the site more than a cursory glance. Difficult to remember and a bit more difficult to type because it's trying to be cute.
you can use delicious.com too. - julienbh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The URL of the site rocks, /true
and I think that's why it may be better than other sites. /sarcasm - RADicalSatDude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wonder why Yahoo! is running My Web as well? and not linking existing Yahoo! ID users to del.icio.us
Seems odd... - inigomntoya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1And after being on the Digg.com front page - it has amazingly quadrupled...
- Spookster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0But unless Yahoo can figure out a way to make money out of it, more users just means higher bandwidth bills for them. (Just like flickr...)
- chadwbennett, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Bix.com is also soaring just like del.icio.us. Check it out at http://www.bix.com/entry/1199 and make sure to vote for the best videos
- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Not intersted in "social" bookmarks. Sorry!
