- WrecksTXP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Not the usual digg article but dugg because it's something most people leave to other people. People complain about the government controlling things but they refuse to get off their butts and do something. Now is the time.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17no he's ronery!
- trollenlord, on 10/12/2007, -9/+19Damn. No Google Map with little pins. No actual coordinates for the misille launch. Back to plan B.
-- Kim Jong Il - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Holy crap, this is an excellent resource! I was looking for something like this before but had no luck finding one.
I most definitely think this belongs on Digg. Digg is all about the freedom of information through technology, and that is exactly what this site offers. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Sweet icon, thanks!
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I agree. What with the government having a shaping hand in the future of our technological world, it's our responsibility to be on top of our reps and senators to do what we want, or vote them them the hell out of office... oh, and to inform our friends and loved ones, as well ;)
- helix400, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is a perfect example how to submit something politically related.
Dugg because the site is politically neutral, and uses technology to help give better information about local representatives. - tuna1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Great. I get to track these overpaid and underworked retards that won't/can't get anything important done unless there are marches, riots, and/or mass death.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Google Map with little pins: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd
Just input your state. - zombie-m, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Isn't too late once the voting is done?"
Maybe so, but when election time comes, I'd like to be up to date on their previous record and whether they are representing my interests or not. - holovaty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4On a similar note, the Washington Post's U.S. Congress votes database lets you subscribe to an RSS feed for your member of Congress. You can also research vote records for every member of Congress going back to 1991 and view interesting breakdowns such as the members of Congress who miss the most votes, or the votes that happen late at night.

Disclaimer: I helped develop that site. - fak3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nice of them to leave on Apache ServerInfo and Directory Index on for us!
http://www.govtrack.us/users/ - samdu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't need a website to track politicians. I think there's a book out there that explains where Hell is. ;)
- Mechanized, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If I make a link to the gov site for you guys to learn about the constitution and declaration of independence..
Will you give that 700+ diggs?
Probably not.
Is why these kinds of diggs' show how hypocritical you guys are. (OOPS truth alert.. negative digg me!) - Hungryhaney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3LOL yours? Do you have the copyright to it?
- mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I just hope my monkey is safe...
- joeysafe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha, looks like fun...
EDIT: Check out /media too for tons of terribly exciting images...
Looks like the site is feeling the digg effect, I keep getting downtime messages... - lexbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Members of the House of Representatives are elected every 2 years. As soon as they're elected, they're thinking about the next election. It's never too late with them.
FYI: The President's term is 4 years (yeah, we all know that) and Senators are 6 years. - marksven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This page is very cool -- lets you see where all the elected officials are on the political spectrum:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/spectrum.xpd - ptbw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2digg effect. definitely going to check this out later though. Thanks asdfasdf!
- Mechanized, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't negative digg wtf00.. he said nothing negative to begin with.
If anything he made a true statement. Nothing negative about the truth. - headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Very cool, although I think the web site is a little cluttered. But I'm setting up some monitors now.
- mooninite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Mine's been copied a few times as well. Sad isn't it.
On the other hand, this site is very nice. I must have been living under a rock to have not heard about it before. - d2daniel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just don't see what the second site has anything to do with the link. It was interesting, but was irrelivent.
Still, I agree that digg is the best way to recive news, not just tech - TekJansen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Really cool site, thanks. They also have RSS feeds which I am hoping will work with Google, still waiting for the site to get back on it's feet.
- zodiacal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1going to register later, after digg effect passes also, but sounds like a wonderful idea!
- ChimRichalds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of all the issues to track, why in the world is Net Neutrality not one of them??
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ahh the digg effect, every couple of refreshes it says the server is down.
- DCMacHead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is the best no b.s., no spin way to stay on top of legislation. I would think this type of thing is the media's worst nightmare because it's no longer difficult to get information on what's going on on Capitol Hill--all you gotta do is log in and look your representatives & senators up.
- Nation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I hate websites that do not understand that the "+" symbol is a valid email address symbol ... how long until the world understands?
- willistg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1BIG F'N Digg!!!! now...where's the one about the executive branch and the judicial branch?
- Jack9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good idea, bad implementation. Almost all of the features of the site are questionably presented and poorly characterised. Why would a political bias cloud be anything but subjective and polarizing (with absolutely no practical benefit other than to misinform?). Good idea, technically interesting, bad approach.
- shade73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow this is really incredible! Thanks!
- wtf00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2it's the same people don't know there right when comes to jury duty especially Jury Nullification... goverment don't want people to know about it.
- Jack9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Probably no digg because politicians dont bother following the ideals of The Declaration nor the letter of The Constitution. More importantly what warped world do you live in where linking to publicly available and often referenced material is Diggable??? Why, I bet if there was a link to the Webster's Definition of the Freedom, it wouldn't get 700 diggs, OMG THAT'S HYPOCRITICAL!!! And to think, you might actually vote...no wonder we're doing so well.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Cool, but the site's kinda slow.. I hope it's just digg traffic.
It took about 30 seconds to add a monitor, 5 mins later, still trying to look at voting history :( - asiaeroticacom, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4GREAT Idea!
- invader, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2i was hoping it was another one of those GPS tracking things for google maps/earth... bummer
i totally wanted to to slap my rep as he was waiting in line for his starschmucks coffee - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4WTF, Please stop using my digg icon.
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Aren't you lonely?
