- Katana, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Some of those are rather creepy.
Am I the only one who looked at those Boobah things and thought they look like the foreskin and head of a penis?
I just showed it to a few others in my house that agree. Maybe the creator is trying to say something. - Nik420, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Boohbah is an awesome show. I especially like it after 2 or 3 hits of LSD.
Seriously though, my little kid loves that show, but 2 1/2 year old is sick of it and only wants Dora the Explorer. I want to strangle Boots the Monkey - What a jackass - daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I agree that all are creepy, except Dora. It's an innocent kids show, maps are supposed to talk to you and send you on strange journeys.
- greenbox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7what about that lazy town show? that guy with the hair has got to have some criminal record or something. and watching that show for about a minute with all those weird colors and puppets just make feel nauseous.
- xswag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5On his own blog no less!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Mr. Rogers is awesome! Best show ever, next to Sesame Street.
- domaincollector, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I have www.doodlebops.com bookmarked for my kids. lol
Some of them aren't that bad in terms of content. Sure, they are strange but kids imaginations are too. I guess I could let my little ones watch something real like CSI or Law & Order CI. but then they would grow up and be serial killers :| - xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wait until he sees the Digg Numbers lol
http://shiveredsky.blogspot.com/2006/05/farked.html - joel2600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4oobi is a great show for kids and a lot of the ones listed as wierd are actually not so wierd .
boohbas is definitley the wierdest one on the list .... the wiggles definitley should have made the list, but did not. - SixSider, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Lazy Town just freaks me out.
- Xanin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Methinks that guy watches too much TV
- rossbrown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4BooBah should by far be number one on that list. I've tried to watch that show before and I think I passed out.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Here's my vote for creepiest kid's show: Kids insert the darndest things!
- xswag, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Why don't you quit trying to promote your own website shiver. Flagged as Spam!
- ebob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I must be getting old. Most of these are all quite tame when compared to anything that Sid and Marty Krofft came up with back in the 70s.
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Give them a break, they're kids shows. Do you want kids to be watching law and order instead?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Where's the "Top Ten Dumbest Blogs of All Time"? The would be in the top 5, easy. Reported as lame.
- anymir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Lazy Town IS on the list. And it's ***** awesome either way.
haha check this out: http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/521/*****.gif - DJMac317, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have to say I let my child watch some of these shows, and he becomes sucked in to them. Which my wife and I can't believe. If you also want some other creepy kids shows, on Noggin there is Miffy and Friends, a claymation bunny, and their annoying band of extremely good mannered friends, and then Maisy. A mouse who doesn't speak words, and also the characters are very well mannered. The crocadile on the show is retarded, I think he litterally is retarded. Kids shows have changed so much since I was a kid watching The Electric Company and 3-2-1 Contact. Mr. Rogers is creepy no matter what.
- Red_Eye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am with you 100% every time my wife and I see those in the store we giggle.
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2TV is Tech and some shows are CGI and stuff.
- defectDS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like LazyTown's music. :)
- DyceFreak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wondershowzen
:D - dandiemer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Thank God I'm not the only one.
- holotone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For my money, there's nothing weirder than those creepy Boobah...umm... things.
The've been discussing this very topic over at Grupthink, as well:
http://www.grupthink.com/poll/214
How Barney is in the lead is beyond me, though. Christ, at least that purple turd in a suit has SOME sort of root in reality. - neosublime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree
- CarzorStelatis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Reported as lame. This is a tech site, not IMDB.
- SirCharge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm convinced that the number one creepiest show of all time was PeeWee's playhouse. Even before the whole public masturbation conviction.
PeeWee looked like a pedophile, acted like a pedophile, dressed like I suspect a pedophile would, and his name was PeeWee for God's sake. That show gave me nightmares as a child. - MicroT13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The puppet-human hybrid thing was definitely the creepiest. Whatever happened to the good old days of Muppet Babies and Fraggle Rock?
- DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Perhaps creepy to (so called) adults, but not to kids. BTW — our cats love BooBah.
- GinsuGuy585, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where's PeeWee's Playhouse?
Come on that show is Winner for life in creepy show lists. - hfiles, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This may be spam to this guy's blog, but it was so nicely written that it can slide. It's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything because I might need a new laptop if that were the case.
+digg - jubcoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This could have been written to be alot funnier.
- aplusplus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Most of the shows listed aren't that bad, especially Dora the Explorer. The Doodlebops is seriously messed up. I watch kid shows these days and just wonder how much acid the creators were on when they came up with the concept.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hey man, everyone knows the truths revealed in wondershowzen are far too harsh for the maleable minds of children
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2wow! a top 10 list of something completely lame...the best part is the comments made where he tries sooo unsuccessfully to be funny...good thing u dont do stand up
- antipro, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3where is Marc's Weinerville?
- ceralor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I thought it looked like a pimple.
- gk128, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"The two male band members are so flaming, Richard Simmons asks them to tone it down."
That quote makes this worth the Digg. - salweem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This just shows what our future will be like.
- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Fred Rogers is a great guy. I do not mind watching a show, now and then, with my kids. The world feels safer when you watch it. I always enjoyed watching when they go to a factory and show how Americans once actually made stuff. Today he would have to China to show how a bicycle was made.
Lazy Town got my kids into eating fruit (sports candy) and exercising. It is an effective show.
Boobah (yes, to the foreskin reference) and the Orwellian TeleTubbies are toxic. I will change the channel when my kids watch those!
Do not forget the weird mini show Go Baby! Yuck! - Nik420, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"People generally don't appreciate jokes about the abuse of hard drugs by parents of young children."
Sorry I offended you {sarcasm}. I do not see psychedlic drugs as hard drug abuse. Heroin, Cocaine, Crystal Meth are hard drugs. I challenge you to find a single example of a person becoming addicted to psychedelics.
I would never do anything like that around my children though. I do have a social life outside my home. I swear people expect you become a F#$%# monk as soon as you have children. - SteveDeGroof, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can't believe they missed "The Wiggles". Major creepiness on that one. There's a character on there called Captain Feather-Sword.
- LCmidas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I agree that the Wiggles should have made the list, but I still think that Oobi is just freaky. The actors' voices weird me out...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1if u found any of that laugh out loud funny-your an asscheese
- shooby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm 14 now
but until I was about 6 or so, I was crazy about Thomas the Tank Engine - zbeast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'm not sure what age group these shows are aimed at 1 to 3 year olds?
By the time I was maybe 5 years I would not have watched any of that stuff.
I would not have watch any of the other shows either JJ the jet plane, Thomas the Steam Engine.
Anthrophrmopic machines budged me. That goes for Auto-bots and all that crap.
I did watch shows like 123 contact and electric company and Sesame Street.
Oh I watched lots of animation. Captain Planet was a wank! also on my list of shows not to watch as a kid. - an0nym0us, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1lol, enjoi your aids.
and fbi. - scottious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2It's like a bad maddox article.
