      As far as a digg.com for girls. This is the age old argument manifesting once again. Listen (girls) as long as you spread your legs and willingly allow men to penetrate your most holy of holes, we (men) are going to look down upon you. Yes, get over it, there is a double standard. A girl that gets f'd a lot is a whore. A guy that f's a lot is the man. I didn't make the rules, but I sure live by them.

Get more women to use Digg. I've been a proponent and even mentioned that having more female diggers would introduce an interesting change to content. The site is about sharing interests, not enforcing them. Women don't need to leave Digg to feel included and I don't think anybody wants them to. I think we just need to tinker a bit with filters and categories so that there's more variety of user experience.

As a female, I find that digg provides an adequate amount of articles that appeal to females with an interest in tech, science and current events. I personally am not that into the whole "iphone fanboy" craze nor do I "shoot my load" so to speak over the newest web browser or operating system; but that's okay because there is plenty of information that I wouldn't have found without digg.

    I think if there were such a site like digg for girls(i.e. kirtsy.com) it would be a bunch of cosmo-esque and ultra-feminist articles that frankly, are boring and only help to dilute our intelligence. I also can't imagine that comments would be as insightful and funny, or that the "internet culture" would be as present. I'm down for supporting female submissions, but the content has to be entertaining and it would be retarded to digg them for the sake of "supporting other women" (just like females shouldn't vote for Palin only because she's a woman). I think the best we can hope for in terms of female presence on digg, is that more girls realize we should be expanding our minds instead of focusing on superficial *****.

Aside from the makeup stuff in Cosmo, they present a lot of articles on women's safety and sexual health that are valuable to the average 20-something. Although their "500 ways to please your man" is over done and repetitive, there is a lot of value in some of the other articles, including just humor anecdotes in the submitted stories that girls can relate to.

      More in response to the article, it's kinda ridiculous to say that Digg doesn't also appeal to women. When stuff is interesting, funny or informative, it knows no gender.

        You don't find the articles about women who have over come amazing articles, like rape, cancer and losing their husbands on 9/11 relevant? Or the ways to best prevent skin cancer from too much expose to the sun? There are a lot of myths about sexual health, and Cosmo devotes part of their magazine each month to debunking these myths and get the truth out there to their readers.

        Like I said in my original post, Cosmo does contain a lot of things I skip over, but when I do read it, I enjoy reading the informative and inspirational articles it provides. It's rather ridiculous to say it provides nothing of merit, when many people have gotten valuable information from it.

The author of the article said that she didn't think the articles on maskless lithography or compressed air cars were interesting to women, which is funny because most sexist men (who think women belong in the kitchen) would agree. They would say something about how it's "man stuff" and over womens heads. As a guy, I don't agree, I love to see women breaking down barriers of what is "gender specific". I don't think something is gender specific unless it directly relates to the gender, such as articles on tampon technology, or "enhancement pills" for men. I don't see those things.

      As for the comment about james bond, NBA, and howard stern not being interesting to women, like I said, this is the same view as the "good old boys" who think women are only good for cleaning and child rearing. My mom watches NBA and NFL. My girlfriend listens to howard stern and like james bond movies. Its just so DUMB.

It's a big book of how to be a consumer whore and I would never let my daughter read it.. not because of the sexual content but, because of the horrible and unrealistic lifestyle they try to sell. (i.e spending all the time)
