- aynrand, on 11/06/2007, -77/+217Reverse psychology.
Digg me up, to see if it works! - MakinBacon, on 10/12/2007, -16/+141@ Sp0rAdiC
Yeah - that's been known for quite a while now. But if you refresh/reload the page you'll find that only one vote was actually registered. So don't wear out your index finger for nothing...
Try it... digg me up (or down if you wish) 3 or 4 times then refresh your browser and see the results. - skoles, on 10/12/2007, -19/+124Steve Irwin died doing what he loved. With animals in his heart.
- Thorpe, on 10/12/2007, -24/+114Here's the top 10 most dugg comments for those who haven't seen it:
http://digg.com/tech_news/Top_10_Most_Dugg_Comments - siglesias, on 10/12/2007, -13/+100Anyone notice that there is a kind of "digg momentum," whereby you feel compelled to digg up if the comment already has a high digg, and digg down if the comment has a low digg? It's an interesting kind of flaw in the system.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+72You forgot most dugg down comments in a single story:
http://digg.com/videos_comedy/Bart_Simpson_s_Heart_Attack
Every single comment is buried, it is kind of funny - MakinBacon, on 10/12/2007, -21/+63I have two opinions on "digging".
1. Whoever asks to be dug up or down should simply be ignored and left at +1 (their original digg for posting).
2. Digg should put a number in brackets beside the + or - diggs that represents how many people clicked a thumbs up or thumbs down (you may have a +2 but had 300 people digg you up and 299 digg you down). This would illustrate the popular vote on any given comment.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+51yes that is called the law of digg (figured it out myself), once a comment has reached critical mass in any which direction (about 7 diggs) it will continue being dugg up/down that way and is near impossible to reverse trend
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+45There is another part of the equation: if someone comments on your comment and says you shouldn't be dugg up/down, it can reverse the trend--I have come back from more than -20.
- aynrand, on 10/12/2007, -7/+44It's an interesting flaw in humanity.

OMG! I am still laughing my ass off. Funniest digg comment page I've ever seen! - Punk27, on 10/12/2007, -5/+36Staring? Maybe he's just into you?
- PFS1, on 10/12/2007, -9/+36As of right now, 114 people, so shut up. If you don't care, don't post.
- Clbck, on 10/12/2007, -11/+37Sp0rAdiC
That's only client side, I think. - jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28Everyone wants to be part of something big
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21I sometimes wish everything in life had a digg like feature. Don't like what president Bush said?---Buried. Jessica Alba to do a nude role...do I need to say any more?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22But it was faster to write than than click bury, right?
- steelmaverick, on 10/12/2007, -18/+33Funny how the top-dugg comment and the top-buried comment are on the same story
- chedabob, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Notice how most of the comments are being dugg down further because of this story :P
- Masna, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19It's ironic how the Most Dugg Down Comments are the funniest.
- tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18Is it just me or is it completely ironic to say your votes are meaningless on a community-driven website?
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Frankie4Fingers deserves an honorable mention for his efforts in this thread: http://digg.com/apple/The_new_iMacs_Faster_Bigger_Brighter
His worst comment barely misses the list at -297 but he went the extra mile with four comments at -100, 34 negative dugg posts, and over -1,000 for the entire thread. - kcpwnsgman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14I have to say, because of that comment that actually put you up in one of the most dugg comments
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17I'm glad. She needs it.
- gr4v3d1gg3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I always read the dugg down comments!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Yeah, definitely. I often try to ignore the diggs of a comment and just commend according to what I think, but it's not easy.
- BlackSheep720, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@stevesearer
i would reccomend updating your blog. choicetoes now holds the record for most dugg comment - matija, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11nice try.. dugg UP
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9@ sp0radic - it's because of the way it shifts the colored thumbs to greyed out ones. If you turn styling off (disable css) then you will see that you can give as many + or -diggs as you want, but only one registers
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12You won at being a huge piece of *****. It's one of those things where you "win", but you don't really win.
- rageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Thats a lie!
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11because you're a horrible human being. wouldn't be incredibly proud....
- calvinator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does anyone else find it interesting that the first post and reply top the records for both dugg up and dugg down?
- zzz@tkz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Better make it top 9ish.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Note that I did not specify which record I wanted to break. :)
- billymachine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4As of right now, 1363 people, so shut up. If you don't care, don't post.
- Darmichar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I won't even waste a Digg down on you, just block user.
- tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7It just appears that stevesearer looked at a few of the most popular digg stories and found the negative comments posted about them.
- MadMan6680, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Don't digg him down... just block him.
- gr4v3d1gg3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You win.I'm digging you down.
- mbball, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I laughed for about 30 seconds straight after reading what you said and about another 2 minutes on what you said in this thread. Your negativity was pretty funny.
Digg him up men(and women) - DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Also, when someone's comment has reached a certain number of diggs in either directions, people feel it becomes useless to try to reverse the trend.
ie. When a comment has +100 diggs, the majority of people will stop even trying to digg it down, so people digging up won't have their vote canceled out by a negative digg. - roadkillkid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Must... digg.... siglesias's ...comment..... up...!!!!
I'm strangely compelled, and unable to resist. Damn your eyes! - aynrand, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6I think these lists should be somewhat time adjusted, to figure in digg's growth.
Older stories never got as many diggs as nowadays. - MrViklund, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Well, usually it's the first comment that gets the most Diggs or burried, no matter if they were good or bad.
- scott1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@hammydude
I made the first comment on that story; I should be put as (dis)honorable mention on the most buried comment list. - EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Cool. Frankie actually qualifies for the list now at -302! I hope he acknowledges me in his acceptance speech.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1an evil lot we are....
- bdrydyk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It wouldn't have been funny anyways.
