Maybe you should add Digg to the list, it is very helpful for passing time in those boring classes. - VeganBob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27missing from the list: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/
- jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24More than just college students can use them..

- Pimpalicious316, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16OttoBib looks fantastic. thanks for the list!
- civperc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Great list, thumbs up.
Wish Wikipedia was around when I was in college ;-) - adidos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10For bibliographies, I've been using http://www.easybib.com/ for a while and love it. It guides you threw entering info about a source and generates your works cited page :)
- ErinIsADrunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I don't know what I would do without Google Docs/Writely. Last term I had to do 3 different group projects and Google Docs made it so much easier to get 5 people together to write an essay and allowed us to easily fix eachothers mistakes and make additions to another persons section of the essay.
- GravyTrain6, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.
- ostracize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I wish I knew about OttoBib when I wrote my thesis.
- zioxide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://citationmachine.net for MLA, APA, Chicago, etc. bibliographic citations
- lualaura, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6EndNote works great too for bibliographys
- ahill7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5RateMyProfessor is invaluable, when class registration time rolls around, I only have two tabs open: the class catalog/registration app, and ratemyprofessor.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is one of the better diggs for comments I've seen a long time. The original post was good, but the community chimed in with even more good resources for college students with little flaming. Good job diggers :-)
- deansfurniture5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.easybib.com is another great one
- aantix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What about RunFatBoy? ( http://www.runfatboy.net ). Just in case you put on that freshman 15.
- mdnash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i thought this was going to be list of where to download music illegally.
ive been in college 4 years and most professors HATE when students use the internet for research. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Zotero

Yelp
http://www.yelp.com/ - onepage2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nice additions. I would add:
www.bloglander.com/cheapeats (great for finding interesting, inexpensive places to eat out)
www.paidbycash.com (can pay for anything online with cash -- no need for a credit card -- and no need to run yourself into debt)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procrastination -- great definition of procrastination -- read it to inspire you to do what you should be doing! - ostracize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bubbl.us is a good bet too.
- IronKurton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3(Un)fortunately, some universities disallow citing Wikipedia as a reference ( http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2007/01/26/wiki ).
I think it's a step in the right direction because Wikipedia should be used as a tool to find your references, NOT as a reference itself, as the original article suggests. - ybfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Excellent resources! I am a Library/Media Coordinator and I will share this with all of my students. Thank for posting the article!
- Ostermayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3check out www.whatsonmybookshelf.com to trade books rather than buying them
- ravishingluke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OttoBib make look good, but too bad it doesn't actually use the correct formatting. APA doesn't capitalize the first letter of every word in book titles. Plus there are some stray commas. Just for starters...
- burgerboy06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2for calculus students
www.calc101.com
changed the world of math - got80s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://www.pickaprof.com is way better than rate my professor. just understand that algebra has a drop rate of 50% on average, anything less, is better.
- bigpoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2econimic? Apparently Zoho doesnt have a spell checker :-P
- knutert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would add http://scholar.google.com . Great cite for finding scientific articles, which authors cited which article etc. It's been invaluable for me when working on my thesis. What would be great is a scientific journal that actually made use of all the multimedia options we have on the net today. Instead of a picture with a long explanation, we could have flash animations, and instead of a series of pictures, the actual movie could be included.
- ahill7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2EasyBib FTW. It is great for MLA, and that's all I've ever needed.
- kbkellner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2www.UniversityNotes.net is an up-an-coming site a lot of students at my school use.
- buddystream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2also check out www.koolim.com
- adidos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Ouch, sorry I bothered to post a link to a helpful website without grammar checking my submission first...
- allholy1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just started using buxfer to keep track of bills and split amongst everyone in my apartment, keeping track of payments, money I owe people and what not - https://www.buxfer.com/.
Lifehacker did a post about it here - http://lifehacker.com/software/personal-finance/track-your-expenses-with-buxfer-236219.php
originally from http://www.moneyhacks.org/ - allholy1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Campusfood.com had some promotions for free food from nearby resturants like dominos, pizzahut and subway. It lasted for about 4 monthes and you could just use a spamgourmet address and get unlimited food.
- dunezone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@deansfurniture5
Easybib is a huge help, no longer do we have to look up how to write a bib on a newspaper, book, etc, just type it in and it puts everything in with correct formatting. - smoreorless, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://astore.amazon.com/cheapcollegebooks-20
http://astore.amazon.com/sportsgifts-20 - soham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why did nobody mention google mail or google calendar. As a college student one of the best resources on the net.
Gmail is best mail period.. and google calendar helps me keep up to date on projects and due dates - unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can also visit a research site, while discussing it with your friends. Our to just have a conversation in real-time (no login). www.gabbly.com
- oxigen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mynoteit.com has been dugg to death by proxy.
- Kaglan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you use LaTeX (ok, probably not that many of us), you should check out Jabref, a pretty good reference manager that uses bibtex as it's database format. I believe it is open source.
- Radiohead84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Iron is correct. Using Wiki as a reference in a paper is wrong and should not be done, no matter how helpful and correct it may seem. At the bottom of wiki use the links from where they got the info and site those after reading them.
I - abfan1011, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Another one that should at least get honorable mention is easybib.com. It only does one format of bibliographies, but it does it for any type of source.
- Cronium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone remember the front page article that had a tool which also helped uni students? Can anyone link me?
- jdheiden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1nice list, but his rating system is a bit suspect. for example, del.ico.us shows a 4-star rating underneath a link to a review of the site by PC magazine. If you click on the link, you'll notice the "Editor's rating" is only 1 1/2 stars.
